"A wild unbound will, surrendered only to you"

Headcannons:

Nervous. She was nervous as hell. She wasn’t sure how his family would react to her, especially his grandmother who she was told was dead set on the wolf traditions.

She was absolutely scared about what his aunt would say about her, having learned she is also just like his grandmother in terms of wolf laws.

His cousins seemed pretty chill from what she learned about them and was really happy about what they would think of her. 

The drive to the forest was tense for her, but she calmed when Valko’s hand rested on her thigh, giving it a gentle and reassuring squeeze. 

“I won’t leave you no matter what they say. You are mine, and mine alone. My mate.”

Those words seemed to give her a brighter outlook but she was still nervous as hell. 

The moment his old home came into view, his tail and ears popped out and his eyes flashed with that same familiar happiness she saw when he claimed her as his mate all those years ago. 

Being as shy as she was, when the car stopped, he bolted out of the car to see his family while she stayed there for a moment, pulling out the food, and camping equipment that they had packed. 

One of his cousins, a taller grey wolf, came over to her, sniffing her out curiously before going to hybrid form and giving her a wide grin. He helps her get all the gear she can’t lift out and brings it over while Valko is still prancing around with the rest or the smaller cousins. 

Of course, while she is setting everything else up, she can feel the grandmother’s and the aunt’s eyes on her back and it makes her slightly nervous. She has no clue what the two are thinking and it unnerves her greatly. 

Valko can see the nervousness seeping off her in waves and is immediately at her side, hand on her lower back as he watches her get everything ready and helps when needed. 

He knows that his aunt and grandma can be overbearing sometimes and he vows to stay by her side as long as he can to keep his aunt and grandma from coming over and saying anything to make his mate uncomfortable. 

Valko was definitely not expecting his aunt and grandma to warm up to her almost on the instant on the account of all the other times he's brought over his girlfriends from past relationships and his aunt and grandma refusing to even speak to them, but with her, they are chatting away with her now. 

He will stand there and watch as his grandmother compliments y/n like it's the most natural thing in the world. Or how his aunt praises her for being able to stay with Valko for as long as Y/n has.

When Y/n was really comfortable with them, the cousins began telling embarrassing stories of Valko. Two of the stories were the time he nearly tripped over himself trying to get a rabbit, and the second time was how he tried to impress someone and totally biffed his words. 

Y/n was laughing along with the others while Valko was bright red and embarrassed, but the smile on his face could only be seen as happiness.

Her shyness seemed to disappear while she was with his family. Valko could see that and it warmed his heart that his family was able to bring her shyness down and her happiness up. 

When Valko and his cousins were packing up all the things Y/n and Valko had brought for the night and the drive back home, Valko’s grandmother and aunt came over to her.

The grandmother held out an amulet that their pack had for years and years. “Here child, you make our Valko so happy, and we wanted to bless your relationship with prosperity and happiness.” The grandmother’s words make your heart swell.

The drive home was silent for a bit. She traced the amulet with her fingers, honored and happy to have been acknowledged by Valko’s family. Valko could sense that happiness and it made his heart soar to know that his family loved and accepted Y/n. “I’m proud of you baby. You are normally really shy around new people but you warmed up to my family rather fast.” He says, taking her hand in his and intertwining their fingers together. “They really loved you today baby.” He whispers, rubbing her knuckles. She smiles and squeezes his hand. 

“It was thanks to you being there too. I’m not sure I would have gotten comfortable doing what I did tonight if you hadn’t been there.” She says, bringing his hand to her chest. “I’m so lucky to have you Valko. I don’t think I could ever find someone else as sweet, and amazing as you are. You literally do everything to make me comfortable when you are so much more outgoing than I am.” She says, looking at Valko with hearts nearly forming in her eyes. “Thank you for choosing me…I don’t know what I would be doing if you hadn’t.” She says. Valko grinned, his sharp canines peaking out of his mouth.

“I would do anything for you, my love. I would move the mountains or the moon if you asked me too.” He says, squeezing her hand. She smiles brightly at his words. “I love you Valko. So much you don’t even understand.” She says. Valko’s grin becomes a soft smile. “I think I can take a guess.” he whispers as he parks the car in the driveway and turns to face her. His hand reaches to her face, holding her face like the most precious gem. His thumb rubbing her cheekbone. After a moment, he leans forward and pressing his lips to hers. Kissing her so gently it makes her hum and move closer to him.

When Valko first met her, he couldn’t understand why his wolf went nuts. Why would it nearly claw its way out of his chest just to get a glimpse of her? Why would it practically beg him to go and make her his. His ears would always perk when someone was talking about her or when they would say something about her in passing. Valko was intrigued now. He was intrigued at how a human woman was able to make his power wolf beg and whine and whimper for her when she didn’t even know him or he didn’t even know her. 

The first time he got to know her, she was struggling to get the copy machine to work. So he stopped to help her. Wolves find their mates based on touch and scent. The moment his hand touched hers, a spark shot up his arm and his wolf howled. From that day, he did everything to try and win her over, the thing is, he won her over from the first moment he spoke to her and helped her. From that day on, it was history. The two would spend hours getting to know each other. He found out what she liked and didn’t like, what she loved to do and what she did in her free time. 

Valko was sure he had never fallen for someone this hard before, but here he was, wanting to know everything there was to know about her. Eventually after a year of getting to know her, he asked her to be his girlfriend. She said yes to being his girlfriend and now, about four years later, their relationship is pure love and devotion. Valko would give everything up for her if it meant he would spend the rest of his life with her. Date nights are his way of showing how much he loves her. He plans out special ones every chance he gets. 

Valko loves the woman he finally has in his arms. He will nuzzle into her neck, press kisses to her neck, hold her tightly, and will melt if she commanded it. Her name is constantly leaving his lips when he speaks and while it annoys the members of his board, he just won’t stop talking about her. After the fourth date, Valko has her photo on his desk, a photo he had snuck when she wasn’t looking. The photo has been his favorite since the day he took it.

Day One:

Valko knew he found the right one when he laid on her lap and she immediately began carding her fingers through his hair. Her fingers glided through his hair in the way that calmed him down the fastest. The way her fingers immediately go for his wolf ears and rubs them. The way that it would immediately make him melt against her chest the second she rubs his ears. He became a puppy when she began petting his hair. He would whine when she stops, and purrs when she starts up again. His tail is constantly thumping against the couch or the bed or anything really. 

He’s always excited to go home. The second the day ends, he’s putting everything away and practically rushing to get home. He would drop all his things at the door after closing it, and rush to find her. When he did, he would either climb into bed with her and lay on her chest, or he would turn to a wolf to lay on her like a weighted blanket. There was no inbetween. If he is wolf form, her fingers are constantly petting his fur, petting his tail, rubbing his ears. Valko is just a giant puppy that loves when his girlfriend snuggles up to him.

He is a sucker for a good behind the ear scratch. She learned that when she started scratching behind his ear without thinking and watched this six foot beast of a man completely melt into her purring and eyes closed. She would make it a routine like thing whenever their date night was just the two of them on the couch cuddling after work. Valko had made it mandatory to have a cuddle session as a date idea/night. He’s huge into cuddles and loves to give them, so when she agreed he was over the moon.

Spending the day lazing around and cuddling on the couch, throwing in some ear scratches and gentle pets and Valko is a puddle on your chest. He’ll make the cutest little noises when he’s completely blissed out. I’m talking cute whines and little purrs. He only makes those noises when he is with you. No one else has ever got to see that side of him. His tail is thumping against the couch during this time, or his tail is curled around her leg. He's so at peace that he falls asleep on her chest. 

Day Two:

He had been sleeping when the nightmare hit. It was vivid, terrifying and sent him spiraling into both tears and sudden fear. His eyes snapped open, panting, sweating, and crying at the thought that she had been taken from him. He was shaking, ears pinned flat to his head. Tail bristled from fear. It had woken her from her sleep and the moment she saw the tears falling down his face, she shot up and pulled him into her chest. She guided his head to her chest, pressing his ears to her heart. “It’s ok puppy, I’m alive, I’m here. It's ok baby.” She whispers softly.

He would cling to her, shaking and begging her to never leave him. His tail wraps around her waist, his hands gripping her shirt in his hands tightly and refusing to let go. He listens to her heart beating in her chest, still shaking. Her fingers card through his hair, moving to his ears to gently but slowly rub them. The moment she begins doing that, he melts. He melts into her hands and lets out a pleased whine, temporarily finding solace from the nightmare. “I will always be here baby. I’m never going to leave you. Never.” She whispers those words like a chant, just for him. His heart thumps in his chest as she repeats them. His tail wagging behind him in adoration for the woman that is holding him after a nightmare.

Most nights Valko can get away without a single nightmare. But recently, he's been having nightmares every time he closes his eyes. It makes him go wild thinking that his nightmares are trying to bleed into the real world. He’s woken during naps while she is at work, thinking that she is home and when he can’t find her, he breaks down. Tears well up, his tail curls around his legs, and he sits in the living room. His ears are pinned flat and he stays there until he hears the front door open and close and hears her breathing and sighs. 

“Puppy, I'm home!” That familiar nickname makes his heart flutter fast, his tears stopping as he looks up to see her. His ears perk up at the sound of her voice. A wide grin breaks out on his tear stained face. His tail wagged fast. “You came home. You really came home.” He whispers. Her heart sinks when she hears those words. “Oh baby, I never left you, I was at work. I must have forgotten to leave a note for you. I had to go in early today to get some paperwork filled out. I’m sorry baby.” She whispers, rushing over to him and pulling him into her chest. “It’s ok. I forgive you.” He whispers, nuzzling into her neck.

Day Three:

 Valko decided it was a perfect day to take her to a wolf sanctuary as a date. He planned everything, from the activities they would do, to the food they would go and get, to the wolves they would sit and cuddle with. Valko planned the trip after getting a teary call from her, saying her day at work had turned into a shit show. When she got home, he had her bag and his bag all packed, snacks packed, a playlist of all her favorite songs queued up and ready to play. He had a plushie made just for her of his wolf form and held it out to her. “Hey sweetheart, ready for a few days off?” Valko asks.

“Where are we going?” She asks, confused. Valko grins. “We are going to a wolf sanctuary for a week. Give you some time off from work, and decompress.” He says. Her eyes widened. “Really?” she asks. Valko nods, his tail wagging fast with happiness. Her heart melts and she rushes over to him. “You are so precious Valko I could just squeeze your cheeks.” She says, pressing her hands to his face and squishing. His ears twitch and he can’t help but laugh softly, his hands pressing over hers as he feels his heart pound at the sight of her smile. He had missed that smile. He missed it so much.

Reaching the sanctuary was everything she dreamed of. The wolves that roam around the enclosed sanctuary are beautiful. They stay close to her thanks to the smell Valko had left on her. They viewed her as a wolf like them. She spent hours playing with the wolves while Valko watched with a smile. An associate of the sanctuary comes over to him and watches as well. “Is she your girlfriend?” The associate asks. Valko nods. “We have been dating for about four years now. She had been coming home from work tired and depressed and thought this would be the perfect moment for us to get out and just be together.” Valko says, his eyes never leaving her. 

The associate smiles softly. “I’m glad that you chose our sanctuary for this special trip. I hope that she enjoys her stay here, and I hope that you enjoy your stay here as well.” The associate says before turning and heads over to a different group to check on them. Valko makes his way over to her, squatting down and placing a hand on her lower back. “Are you having fun, love?” He asks, his voice low and gentle. She looks up at him and smiles brightly. “I really needed this, thank you Valko.” She whispers, leaning to him and nuzzling into his neck. 

Valko smiles and by the time the sanctuary closes, the two are walking hand in hand back to the hotel. She leans into Valko as they walk. “Thank you Valko, this was a much needed time off. Thank you so much.” She whispers, intertwining her fingers with his. “I love you Valko. So much I can’t even tell you.” She says, laying her head on his arm. Valko couldn’t help the way his heart thundered in his chest. When they reach the hotel, Valko pampers her the rest of the night with games, treats and activities til the both fall asleep in each other's arms.

Day Four:

Movie marathons are a must with Valko. He will plan the snacks, the drinks, and will even make a fort for the two of you. He’ll even get food on the way home from work. He will grab her the chocolates and sweets that she loves. He’s a sweet boy that wants to make the girl of his dreams happy. She had been home all day bored when she received the text from Valko asking if she wanted to have a movie marathon with him. She quickly agreed. Valko sweetly asked for her to choose the movies to watch while he went and got dinner, snacks, and anything she requested. 

When Valko came home, he had bags and bags of snacks, with pizza and soda in his hands. The biggest smile on his face. “Hey baby, ready for the movie marathon?” Valko asks, a big toothy grin on his face. Her own smile grows. “I’m so ready. This means I get to cuddle up to my favorite man in the world. Come one, let's start.” She says smiling even brighter. She grabs his hand and leads him to the couch, helping him put everything down on the coffee table. She goes into the kitchen to grab cups and paper plates and return to place them out.

“Has anyone ever told you that you are an amazing person, Valko?” She asks, sitting on his lap and snuggling into his chest. His arms wrap around her and hold her tightly, his head dropping to her shoulder. Her scent filled his nose, making him rumble softly. “I’ll do anything and everything for you baby. You mean everything to me and I wanted to spoil you rotten.” He whispers, turning her head and pressing his lips to hers, his thump brushing over her jaw as he kisses her. Her arms wrap around his neck as she moves closer, the movie already forgotten.

Day Five:

Christmas is his favorite holiday besides her birthday when he can spoil her. He will go all out on the Christmas gifts. He will buy her new clothing, or work equipment when she asks for them during the spring or summer or mentions them. He’s always getting her wolf plushies because of the way she smiles and gets so excited. For Christmas this year, Valko went all out. He bought her new clothes, new everything. He even had a beautiful little stuffed wolf created to look just like him. Exactly like him. He quickly wraps up all his gifts and places them under the tree. She was in the kitchen making food. Valko leaned against the wall and watched her, a smile on his face as he watched her move her hips to the Christmas music that plays. 

Valko crosses his arms over his chest and his eyes soften instantly, his heart swelling with love and pride as he continues to watch her. He still couldn’t believe that after four years, she had stayed with him. Stayed with him through every bad day and every hard day. Valko pushes off the wall and walks over to her, wrapping his arms around her waist and nuzzling into her neck. “Hey baby, what are you making?” He asks, his arms tightening slightly. She smiles and leans back into him. “Making Christmas cookies and sweets. Nothing too much.” She says. Valko grin widdens. “I love when you make cookies and sweets.” He says, pressing a gentle kiss to her neck. 

While the cookies are baking, you two settle on the couch, cuddled up with a movie playing. She had her head resting on his chest, her fingers tracing absentmindedly over his chest as the movie played. His arms are wrapped tightly around her waist, a low pleased rumble filling his chest. “I like these moments during Christmas time or any time. Just you and me, cuddled up on the couch.” Valko mumbles, his eyes already growing heavy. She turns to look up at him. “I love cuddling with my wolf. Makes it that much more special.” She whispers, pressing gentle kisses to his jaw and cheek. Valko grins so wide his sharp canines peak out. He loves Christmas time, mainly to spoil her rotten, but these little moments are his favorite as well.

Day Six:

Just going for a walk in the park was always a joy between her and Valko. It meant they could stay close and look at the world together. Hand in hand and pointing out small things that made either her smile, or Valko smile. They would both try to go on walks whenever they could knowing it was good for both him and her. The weather was nice, a gentle breeze, and the warmth of summer filled the air. Her hand was intertwined in Valko’s as you both walked slowly down near the river close to her home. They didn’t speak, didn’t really have too. Just being in each other’s presence was enough. 

Valko honestly loved taking walks with her. It was calming, a way for him to escape the pressures of being a CEO of a massive company. Loved that just being in her presence was enough to make both his human side and his wolf side hit a level of relaxation that would otherwise be nonexistent for him. Valko gives her hand a little squeeze as they both continue to walk down the sidewalk. Her hand returns the squeeze, a smile forming on her lips. There is just something about just a simple date like this that was worth more words than the dates where they did activities. 

A simple date idea of walking around was the best idea the both of you thought of together. It was almost intimate with how close she and Valko were while walking. Her head leaning on his arm, their hands intertwined, both not having to say a word because they both knew this was the perfect date the both of them have ever had. Valko’s tail was wagging behind him, proud that this was a decision that he had thought of and asked her about with the biggest grin on his face. Just a simple day, a simple date, and two hearts connecting even more because of it. “Valko, we should do little dates like this every once and a while. I like this. I like walking around with you, holding your hand, leaning close.” She says when they finally get home from their walk. Valko smiles. “I’m glad you liked it. I liked it too.” he says, nuzzling into her neck. 

Day Seven:

She would be lying on the couch, eyes closed and peacefully asleep. Valko loved lazy days like this. He would stop what he is doing and immediately go to where she is to lay with her. His head would find its usual spot on her chest and would curl up closer to her and close his eyes. She loved when he did this because it meant the two of them could cuddle up together and take a much deserved nap. They were both tired from work. Valko as a CEO and her being a hunter. They were both tired, in need of a time off. So when they both took time off, the two immediately decided their date night would be sleeping. 

She would put on low soothing music, turn the lights down low and she would lay on the couch, arms open and inviting for Valko. He would immediately push off the wall and walk over, kicking off his shoes and laying down, his head resting on her chest, ears pressed close to her heart or on her heart. A relaxed sigh would leave his throat as his eyes began to grow heavy. Her left arm wraps around him, moving to his hair and gently running her fingers through his burgundy hair while her right arm moves to hold her head up.
