In a way, Orphan Black is television’s most feminist show. It manifests the idea that all women are identical, faceless objects here for men’s control and pleasure by making all of its central female characters clones, but then the show subverts that same idea by ensuring that each of them is unique in her own way. It’s a show that, underneath all of its plot twists and sci-fi action, has one simple message: women are individuals, and they deserve and demand respect.
