twenty minutes left of her shift. violet was looking at the clock what seemed like every twenty minutes. but it ended up being every five. trying to pass time by doodling on receipt paper. everything was clean. the new shipment of records was out. there wasn’t anything else to do. her doodling came to a stop once she heart the chime of the bell above the door. “hello--welcome in--oh hey!.” she tried to sound chipper as the realization set in that she actually knew the person walking in. “sorry--i just--it’s been a long day.”
