Transcription Begins A creature, who nearly fills the room with feathers flaring out in irritation, paces anxiously from wall to wall inside of the observation room1. It speaks, often barely audible, but sometimes clearly enough to be overheard by the microphones. Three distinct tones were used by 'The Host', which have been referenced by their tone2. Nervous: Everything is so different this time, I think they're being very reasonable, considering. Agitated: This all could be a trick, to keep us waiting until he can talk us into staying forever. Neutral: I don't think I can stay in this room much longer. Agitated: Then let's do something about it. Nervous: It seems to be the only option. Neutral: So we're just going to leave her behind? Agitated: I don't think we're that lucky. A silver dagger appears in one of its clawed hands, and it rapidly drives the dagger into its own body. The anomaly hereby referred to as 'The Cabin' imposes the following limitations on anyone who perceives it. Indirect exposure, such as through a written or verbal report, transfers the effects.

Some individuals may experience a compulsion to enter 'The Cabin' 'The Cabin' cannot be referred to by most sequences of numbers. Any attempt to associated 'The Cabin' within a sequence or as individual digits will merely produce the speaker/writer's last known 'acceptable' designation.

The Case of Dr. H Washington: Memetic Assessment

Video footage of the first interaction with 'The Cabin' reveals that the reporting officer did not break safety guidelines.1 The memo was completed before Dr. Washington approached within one metre of the manifestation. Further testing confirms that pictures, drawings, and detailed descriptions of the 'door' imparts the same knowledge. Extrapolation: Memetic effects have multiple triggers. - Interviews with responding AEED agents unanimously confirm that Dr. Washington requested their immediate assistance.2 Review of surrounding footageton confirms there were no instances of Dr. Washing or any other person(s) opening the door. The first attempt at filing the appearance of 'SCP-1916-00' contains poetic prose detailing the interior of The Cabin. Interviews with responding AEED agents confirm that when recalling the interior of 'The Cabin', the recount is identical. When prompted to repeat their account after some minutes, the language and details provided varied. Extrapolation: Responding officer's breaking of protocol, including unauthorized contact and resulting disappearance, was a result of exposure to the anomaly4. Indirect exposure, such via written or verbal reports, do not transfer this effect. Description: Assumed to be a counterpart to SCP-1916-00 due to its similar spontaneous manifestation in the same relative location, and it's first requests to staff to locate 'The Cabin.' SCP-1916-000 stands nearly five metres tall, and is comprised of reptilian, avian and humanoid features. It has no need of food, or water, though appears to sleep for several hours at random intervals. Dr. Washington is nodding at a noticeable frequency, as if every few seconds there is something to silently agree with. Dr. Washington faces the wall directly to the left of the doors for nearly a full minute. Dr. Washington turns towards the dagger on the table. Dr. W: And then there's this. A pristine blade that reflects light which isn't here. It feels important, it looks important. It has to be important. Dr. Washington reaches towards the blade on the table. Both members of her escort step forward to stop her, calling warnings. Dr. W: Look, the next step in the protocol is to file an experiment request to initiate first contact. That approval takes two days, this door has been here a week. I'll just grab it now, and ask for forgiveness later. Dr. Washington picks up the weapon by the handle. She looks at it intently, and then her head slowly tilts so she is looking at the ground. Dr. Washington does not respond to verbal cues. Citing accordance with protocol, the other officials exit the anomalous space. The camera remains on its tripod. Dr. Washington looks up again after several minutes and appears to realize she is alone. She does not act as if concerned. Dr.W: I'm not going to do anything without talking to her, and if she's as bad as you say she is, maybe I'll slay her. Dr. Washington tightens her fingers around the weapon, and opens the door to the basement. A set of narrow wooden stairs are barely visible. After ninety seconds, the door slams shut. The camera falls, and turns off.

Special Containment Procedures: No hostiles found to be exiting or immediately within The Cabin. Armed guards stationed, in compliance with Spontaneous Manifestation safety guidelines. Description: SCP-1916 presents as a door which is exactly 2 metres tall and 1 metre across. The door appears to be shaded in monochrome to mimic the appearance of a nondescript lumber. The handle does not extend into three dimensional space, the etching is a continuous surface of graphite, or possibly charcoal. The door can be opened by pushing against where the handle appears to be. Inside of the cabin is a 5x5 room, walls, floors and ceiling in the same style of material as the first door. Windows divided into six panes are embedded into the left and right walls. A starry night sky is visible through both windows, regardless of the time of day. The only piece of furniture is a small wooden table, upon which is a silver dagger. Next to the table is a door to the basement of The Cabin.
