- I'm a lesbian. I'm not really completely sure about this but I feel I am, so that's what I'll be going with unless I figure something else out!
- I'm a kemonomimi. Golden retriever, black lab and red fox. But mainly golden retriever. I'd like to have gear but I'm 1) broke and 2) living in a country with people who'd make fun of me if I started dressing like a kemonomimi ;-; in the future I'll probably be more open with it, though

For the past (my age here) years of my life I've been avoiding borrowing books from libraries for fear of forgetting the due date or getting the book ruined or something
But then last month my friend group started going to the library during recess instead of eating so I got to read more. And one of my friends convinced me to try borrowing a novel. And I did!
And now I've borrowed like five books from the library back to back it's insane

Okay anyway. In regards to this post
When I say Schneider "doesn't show [loyalty] the same way [as Sonetto does]", I mean she tries hiding it.
I personally think she'd be like. Conditioned to think that showing weakness of any kind was a big no. Whether she got that mentality from her mafia work or from her family who hated her I have NO clue, but let's say it's both for the sake of having a reason.
So when she gets attached to Vertin it's a little bit like "oh god I need to lock the fuck in don't I"
She did NOT plan to actually fall in love with the Timekeeper when they first met. Her flirting was just to see her flustered! WDYM she actually fell in love with her that wasn't what she wanted what the fuck!!!
Her work in the mafia has led her to believe that if she keeps people at arm's length, then they would be safer. She isn't stupid. Schneider's nearly gotten people killed at least a few times before, when the wrong people found out how important someone was to her. With that same mentality in mind Schneider chooses to try keeping a little space between her and Vertin, and also between her and basically every other person in the suitcase
Does it work? Fuck no she gets closer to people eventually. But she still uses jokes and sarcasm to cover up her actual emotions sometimes. And she still feels like she should be trying harder to protect Vertin and everyone else.
So. Yes. Very loyal Schneider who does a bad job of pretending she dgaf

Y’all know that I’m into ancient Roman history and I do a lot of research on it but even though I should be used to it by now sometimes I read an anecdote about how an individual slave was treated and I’m hit with the realization that like a third of the population was living like that and I just need to put my head in my hands for a second
Emperor Hadrian randomly stabbed a slave in the eye in a fit of rage and he was supposedly unusually sympathetic to slaves.
There’s other instances of people randomly punching slaves that they didn’t even know because they got in their way or something. This was just normal behavior.
And slaves didn’t rebel en masse because if even one slave committed an act of violent rebellion it was common practice to kill every slave and former slave in the household.
People only took notice for posterity when these mass executions got into the hundreds of people. One of the few recorded for the history books is of over 400 people being killed because one guy stabbed his enslaver.
Like how many people throughout history were beaten to death because some rich asshole was angry and there was no legal or social consequences for doing so? We don’t know.
When you study ancient history you’re reminded that slavery has never once been kind or justified. It just takes on different forms of evil in every time and place that it infects.
Can't sleep I'm thinking about verneider. So for all you verneider fans out there may I suggest (hear me out here):
Very, very loyal Schneider. Like Sonetto levels of loyalty. She just doesn't show it the same way

Schneider was probably raised to be loyal, being both Italian (yk the whole importance of family thing) and raised catholic (do I really need to explain this bit). After she joined the mafia she probably realised how important loyalty actually is. Having ppl who work for you AND stay true to you is probably incredibly important in that line of work
So imagine what she feels when Vertin comes back for her after the gun fight they had. When Vertin somehow saved her from the Storm. When Vertin showed her how nice life could be when you weren't fighting for your life or killing to find money to survive.
Imagine what happened when Schneider realised just how much Vertin did for her.
She'd probably feel indebted. Maybe guilty — something like "why is this girl who's already well off trying so hard to save me when I already know I'm far beyond redemption? Why would she go through the trouble?"
And that makes her realise that Vertin just genuinely likes her as a person
And that makes her incredibly loyal to her. Because she somehow managed to see this wonderful person in her when all Schneider could see was a "demon" or "monster".
This might be ooc and this might be an incredibly sappy way of saying it. But I'm telling you this deranged ass mf would sacrifice herself in a heartbeat if it meant Vertin got to stay safe
