The Eclipse-verse

Context: This may take place during the great race where Sora enters illegally, or maybe some other year. Either way, they’re all around Aerrow’s skimmer.

Aerrow, holding a toddler aged Ryder over his skimmer as if he’s driving it: “it’s like I always say, it’s the *Ryder* not the ride”

Sora: “booo! Stop making puns with our brother!”

Eclipse: “he has to, Sora. Cuz your dad’s super lame and gave his son a pun for a name”

Xaria: “you named him that on purpose??!”

Aerrow: “aw come on, it’s a cool name”

Eclipse, nudging Sora: “you know he named you after the sky right?”

Sora, gasping in shock: “I’M NAMED AFTER THE SKY?!”

Her siblings laugh.

Ryder, looking up at his dad: “I like my name”

Today’s thoughts are about Rook and Ace’s relationship.

I like how despite Ace’s attempts to keep her at arms length, they still kind of form a bond.

He sometimes brings her trinkets from the terras he visits, or tells her about his missions. She thinks he’s the coolest guy on Atmos so he’s more than happy to show off.

(I like to think him standing on his skimmer as he’s arriving on Cyclonia with the Aurora Stone was him trying to look cool for Rook)

Ace likes that she makes him feel important, something he’s wanted for a very long time, and although it weirded him out at first, he does like that she turned out so much like him.

I wonder if he lays awake at night because his mind just keeps racing. Worries, ideas, plans just rush through all at once and if it gets late enough those worries start to spiral.

He usually tries to go to sleep before that happens.

It’s best boy’s birthday today in my canon! Happy Birthday Aerrow! He’s 35 this year.

I find it really funny that Ace raises Eclipse to be a terrible, selfish person and then the team has to essentially reparent her.

As a kid, she bossed everyone around and learned she could do whatever she wanted because as his apprentice, she outranked them. And on top of that, she was Anarchis’s most important creation. You couldn’t touch her.

So she very much has this superiority complex as a teen. “I can do whatever I want because I’m more important than you”, she even pushes this with Ace sometimes, at which point he reminds her who’s really in charge.

His mentality is very much “it’s funny when you do it to other people, but you can’t do that to me”.

Ye! Traditionally vampires can only drink blood and since they’re undead, they don’t need to eat food anymore. But I kind of changed that for my vampires.

My vampires are still living creatures, their vampirism is just more of a curse so they can still eat fruits, vegetables and fish but meat itself isn’t compatible with their bodies anymore.

Their body actively rejects it, which means they’ll always vomit it back up soon after they eat it.

This is a fun question!

I’ve thought about this before but the answer always eluded me. Cuz Aerrow strikes me as the kind of person that *likes* certain things but nothing stands out as his favorite. But then I thought, he really enjoys ice cream so I think he’d say that’s his favorite food.

Vanilla is his favorite flavor, don’t ask me why, I just decided it as a kid lol.
