Okay not GoT related but I need to talk about this. I walk everywhere and walk everyday for half an hour to school and then again home. Older men make me feel uncomfortable with myself and being alone everyday. I'm 17 and I don't exactly look super young but I look my age, and clearly look like I'm on my way to school. These men range from 18-50 years old. Sometimes it feels more threatening then others. I get yelled at, honked at, groups of older men staring and smiling at me as though I'm "pleasing" them every fucking day.
But a few months ago a younger man maybe 20-22 said an extremely pervy comment to me about my body I was 16 at the time. Not when he was in a car but he was really close to me which made me feel more uncomfortable. He made me feel uncomfortable with feel confident in my body for a long while. A few days ago I saw the same man in the same place. He seemingly didn't recognise me as if he had he probably wouldn't have spoken to me. I tried to stay behind him the whole time but someone ended up behind me and creep up and talk to me. I was very nervous the whole time. And even when he was trying to chat me up he again made a pervy comment about my body. He actually thinks these comments will get him somewhere with women. And the fact that he didn't recognise me from the first incounter shows he treats women like this all the time it's gotten to a point he is desensitised to it.
As I get older and it become more "acceptable" for men to look at girls my age as an object without being considered a pedophile I feel more and more unsafe being by myself. Constantly thinking like what if that man from before was violent.
