Listen I’m autistic about dogs and have strong preferences about looks, mainly that dogs are “in standard”. But it’s always crazy to me that non-crazy dog people are so incredulous about breed standards, think so poorly of the fact that there are standards, but then at the same time, are so crazy about Merle dogs and “rare” colors/whatever the fuck type of dog a backyard color breeder produces. Like these same people will go nuts nuts nuts over a Merle fluffy frenchie when the dog’s structure is so obviously poor and looks like he’s have an anaphylactic reaction. Or on the more generous side, these weird looking GSDs and Dobermans. I don’t get it in the slightest.
