Emma Stone at the differents Press Conference. [2013, 2014, 2015, 2016]
Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling attend the ‘La La Land’ premiere during the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival at Princess of Wales Theatre on September 12, 2016 in Toronto, Canada.

Speaking of the Oscars, though the direction and design are fabulous, I think the film’s biggest asset is Ms. Stone, who gives a performance of such natural intelligence and warmth that I’d have to imagine she’ll be a very strong awards contender this year. (She’s got the musical/comedy Golden Globe already in the bag at this point.) But besides that cynical odds forecasting, this is simply a huge performance for Stone, who has always had an abundance of appeal but has had trouble of late finding a role, and a film, worthy of her ability. She’s certainly found it in Chazelle’s film, giving a star turn of the highest magnitude—while singing (convincingly) and dancing, even. It feels like she’s arrived all over again. Gosling is certainly good too, but his performance is a bit more familiar, and his singing is not up to Stone’s level. Still, he and his glowing co-star once again have a witty, winning chemistry.

Hey! I'm planning a trip to New York next year and since you have spent a lot of time there I thought i'd ask you for some tips and advice :) I'm travelling solo and i'll be 18, so is there anything I should know? Do's and Dont's? Places to go, not to go? Is there any places that you would recommend to go? Other than the basic touristy stuff to really see New York? And also was there any other advice you could think of on how to get the most out of my trip (1 week) - thanks :)
Hi there!
One thing we did with my friends when we went for a short trip the first time, was buy one of those New York Attraction passes. ( https://www.newyorkpass.com/En/new-york-attractions/ ) Right now it’s between $200 - $300 depending on how many days you want it for, you could look at the list and see what places you are interested in going and see if maybe that is worth buying for you. I remember we did so many things in a short amount of time with that pass, that $$$ wise it was a great decision.
In any case, it’ll give you a list of most of the attractions there are so you can narrow down what you want to visit!
I’ll definitely go see one or two(or 5 or 7 lol) Broadway shows if you are into that. “Today Tix” is a great app for last minute tickets and stuff. You can also play lotteries to get cheaper tickets, it’s a long shot, but I did win a few times so playing it never hurts lol
Midtown, Times Sq, and all the big tourist-y attractions are always packed, so be prepared for that. Downtown has LOVELY gems that you may want to visit. My favorite thing was walking downtown and just finding little nooks to eat or read and all that. It really just depends what you are really looking forward to do the most during your trip.
Since you are on your own I wouldn’t stay too too far from the main things. Transit in New York is fairly reliable, trains can be late and are late A LOT but they work till the wee hours so even if you are far away from the main attractions, it’s fairly easy and safe to make it back. Still, since you are on your own and in a new place, I wouldn’t want that commute to be too great. You can buy an unlimited metro pass for the whole week you are going to be there. DO THAT, it’ll safe you a lot of $$ :)
Plan ahead as much as you can so you can do as much as you can those seven days. Check Google maps to get an idea how far things are. More often than not things are walking distance. I for one loved the Union Sq area, through the High Line, and Chelsea’s Market.
Um, I don’t know what else, I’m probably missing a lot of stuff, so just let me know if I can help you some more! :)
I hope you have a lovely trip! I haven’t been there in a while myself already, but I miss it, and can’t wait to go back soon-ish for a visit :)
Emma Stone on ‘Maya and Marty’, July 12, singing ‘Call Your Girlfriend’

((if you need me, I’m gonna be sobbing for days after this lol))
I’ve been thinking about this a lot today. It wasn’t even a year ago. :( It breaks my heart, but y’know, love’s still love, and one person’s lack of saneness shouldn’t win.

Happy 13th Birthday Gabby!
I can't recall this, but did you happen to get any idea of Kaleigh as Sally? Sorry i know it was over a year ago but i was just curious
What do you mean by ‘get any idea’? ;) If you’re just asking what I thought of her, couple of words, LOVED HER of course! It was actually one year ago that I saw her! The 24th! She was awesome! Her vocal range is amazing, and her acting wasn’t too shabby at all! I had an AWESOME seat back at Studio 54, and that whole show was pretty pretty incredible! Up until that night I’d only seen Em as Sally, so seeing the different take was different in the best way possible! One of the girls sitting at my table, sobbed all through act 2, so ya know Kaleigh’s performance was super super moving and awesome! Her chemistry with Bill Heck was also there! all in all, she was indeed GREAT!
x I hope this was your question, sorry if it wasn’t! Have a great rest of your day Dear Anon! Sorry it’s taking me so long to go through my inbox... :))
xxo
im genuinely hoping 2016 is good for all of you. those who are suffering with personal stuff or just want a fresh start, or anything else, i hope you survived 2015 with a good feeling about 2016. make it your best year yet.
While y’all are over there freaking out or not about the new Star Wars movie, lil’ ole me F I N A L L Y watched 99 Homes!!!
No offence to Star Wars of course lol! I just grew up in a home where anything and everything remotely sci fi was looked down upon so I was just never exposed to any of it, leaving me as the teeny percent of people who has never watched any of the films….shush……….!!
ANYWAY……. 99 HOMES! Jesus Christ!!! SHAME ON ME for waiting SO LONG to watch it! BUT lemme tell ya, I was BLOWN AWAY…….by everything!!!
Andrew is SOOOO GOOD! SOOOO GOOOOOOD!!! I FINALLY understand Emma crying at the screening back at the Venice Film Fest……..holy crap, HE IS HEARTBREAKING!!! Throughout the whole film!
If you can, I HIGHLY recommend you catch this film. During at least 75% of this film I had this feeling of physical dread in the pit of my stomach.. You just KNOW things are going to go bad ——-TERRIBLY bad, but you don’t know just how, and it PAINED me to watch the Garfy go through everything he goes though in this movie. Pained me. Physically.
Both Andrew and Michael Shannon, and heck, the whole cast, deliver AMAZING performances, but although I may be biased, I’d say Andrew gets all of the extra brownie points for HIS delivery of this character. He digs himself into such a huge hole in this film, and it’s just SO SAD to see him make those decisions while knowing in his heart all he wanted was the best for his kid and mom…..
UGHHH………..from the trailer and reviews I knew going in this movie was going to break my heart, but I swear, I was so not prepared by how much! Terribly heartbreaking! YET an amazing watch! He’s incredible!
So please do watch if you have time! AWESOME FILM!
Also, HAPPY HAPPY HOLIDAYS Y’all! Hopefully you are all having a great holiday time however way you choose to enjoy these last few weeks of 2015! :)
xxo
I wish I could’ve seen this when it came out, but my stupid movie theater didn’t play it so DVD purchase it shall be.
The stupidly TEENY theater release is something I’ll *never* understand 😪😭BUT I’m sure you’ll love it/HIM whenever you do see it hehe :)
Ps: Hope you are doing great Hun. Happy Holidays xx

Missing Cabaret, so I designed a DVD cover for it. If only this were real :)
@steff621
Why do I find this so beautiful? :) I have to say, I actually enjoyed thoughtfully all the extra material on the ALOHA bluray. If anything, it made me kind of wish I’ve seen the original cut of the movie –as it was meant to be, before all the editing, reshoots, etc. Rightfully so or not, the movie offended a lot of peeps & their grandmas, but deep down I still don’t think anyone involved ever mean to —in my opinion :))
Also, I gotta say I love how Miss Em looks as the most awesome combination of Gwen & Sam in this clip! SO PRETTY! :)
ANYWHO, I still haven’t managed to get my act together and remember how to multitask living and the use of my computer and Tumblr….but I’ll get there! For now, i hope you all are doing awesome awesome!
