New icon is finished. New banner soon, character concepts, and of course, NEW PAGES. Finally. Hard to believe it’s been months. Oh, and any asks I get for the characters. They tend to get done the quickest.

Special shoutouts to @timelinesandtrees and @casually-freaking-out for the name suggestions, and a special thanks to @linkitsukun. He’s the first blog who I had been following previously to turn around and follow me too, which is a huge deal. And to @friisans, the now one-and-only AlterTale, for just being cool and helping me back on my feet. Thanks to everyone for their support. Without you, I wouldn't be here.

No, for those wondering, this project is still very much alive. I'm working on it heavily, just... Off screen. As soon as I finish the new banner, things should start moving again. I've been trying to improve my drawing too, since I hold back a lot out of hesitation...

In other news, I just want to thank everyone who submitted name suggestions. They were all very, very helpful, and gave me wonderful ideas. You'll get your shoutouts next time I crawl out of my hole.

By some miracle of nature (which is probably really just riding on the Undertale hype train) I have managed to garner nearly three hundred followers.

And now, I need your help. As Friisans has become so much more popular then me, with their superior art and regular posts, I have finally decided to concede the title of Altertale to them. That said, it leaves me in a predicament. I will need a new name. Echotale would have been my fallback, but its part of the upper echelon of AUs already.

Been awhile since I did one of these. But I just had an idea. This one shall be...

THE TECH IN THE UNDERGROUND THEORY.

It honestly always intrigued me of the technological marvles in the underground. I never really paid attention to it for what it was though. As the opening sequence states, the monsters were defeated and driven underground a long time ago, and given they way they look in said opening, it was probably before the down of technology. Then how is it, the a shattered and beaten race, driven underneath innumerable tons of rock, managed to develop technology of the magnitute they show. Not only do they have things you expect a human city to have, cell phones and TVs, but also things far beyond, like the CORE. I understand the neccessity is the mother of invention, but to develop technology so similar to humans raised a few flags. How did they pull that off? Well, I honestly don't know. But I have a theory.

Sans.

Yes, Sans again, but listen.

Sure we don't know how long the Skelebros have been around, other then the fact that they "just showed up one day", but long enough for Sans to have been involved in the True Lab incident (did I ever point out that some of those journal entries down there are written in all lowercase, just like Sans does?), and if all the Gaster theories stick, possibly much longer. That said, there are two strong peices of evidence I have that to support this. Sans is well known for his "shortcuts". The big guess for this theory is that his shortcuts can, with some effort, pierce the barrier. Well, so what if he could? He would be brining back human technology and ideas to be reverse engeneered. Things like social networks, cell phones, and who knows what else could have been taken. But the real kicker is this...

Alphys' anime collection. Anime hasn't been around that long, so how did Alphys get ahold of these human "historical documents"? Why, from her buddy in the lab, good old Sans, who picked them up on one of his expeditions.

The other bit of evidence I have comes from the True Ending, when all the monsters make it to the surface, and Sans remarks to Papyrus' querry that the big glowing ball in the sky is the Sun. Now, Sans could just be older then his brother, and theoretically seen the sun before the monsters were sealed away. Or... He could have learned from his visits to the surface.
