The lack of ill intent was probably why it had taken so long for Maglor to notice he was being observed. But it didn’t take long to spot the observer: a pale, dark-haired young Man, leaning casually against the outer wall of a building, digging in his pockets for…was that a lollipop? The lad was making a face at it, as if it had said something to offend him.
Wait…no. Not a Man. Maglor took a step back. Beneath his shaggy hair, his pointed ears fell back in alarm.
Something was off about this boy. Maglor could feel…not Taint, not like the servants of the Enemy of long ago…but something…not human. Something distinctly Dark.
It took a moment for his skittish mind to work through it–and his hunted, cornered-rabbit look fell away when the realization hit him. Dark. Yes. In the purest sense. Like that boy he had met at the Infinite Alliance, the one who kept teleporting about and causing a ruckus; what was his name, something in Latin…
This boy looked almost exactly like him. A bit smaller, maybe. And the…feeling coming off of him was subtlety different. The taller one had felt like coalescing shadows; this one felt more like shadows and smoke.
Maglor blinked, grey-blue eyes owlish, as he realized he’d been staring openly at the boy for a good solid minute. Well. He supposed it was only polite to introduce himself. Still clutching his jacket about him, he stepped cautiously forward, his steps remaining noiseless.
“Excuse me,” he ventured quietly.  “I did not mean to stare, but you remind me of someone I know.”
Twirling the stick between his fingers, he tosses it in the air, watches it spin once, twice, and then catches it swiftly in his hand. He repeats this process a few times, mulling on his thoughts. Maybe he could slip it into Ikki’s pocket later -- he wouldn’t mind, right? But before he gets a chance to dig around for a more favorable flavor, a voice catches his attention. His gaze shifts up to lock onto the person in question.
Ah, it’s the man he was watching from before. He was still here? He was staring? And how did he just manage to walk up without him even noticing?
“ Do I? “ he questions, tilting his head slightly. Not an unfamiliar way people have started conversations before, but man was it getting old. “ You think people would learn already not to approach strange men in the shadows, yet here we are. “
