“Blech.” Kirsten manages a pitiful groan as she lifts her head from the toilet bowl, turning her head just enough to see Cameron hovering in the bathroom doorway. His brow is furrowed under his glasses, hair still fluffy from sleep.

“You still sick, Stretch?” He’s there in an instant, kneeling beside her on the tile, his hand tracing soft circles on her back.

Once, she would have hated it. Would have preferred privacy. But he’s warm, and the bathroom floor is cool, and the wave of nausea is already beginning to recede, so she leans her shoulder against his chest.

Due to the continuation of season 3 of Stitchers into August, we are now going to have Stitchmas in September! I know that this hiatus is going to be hard, especially following the events of the finale and season as a whole, but I hope that everyone will enjoy this event–whether you are creating and exchanging, or just enjoying all of the posts!

Hello everyone,

I apologize wholeheartedly for not doing this event this year during July. This was partially due to the fact that this event was originally created to be during the hiatus while we were waiting for the next season; this summer, we were fortunate enough to have season 3 all the way into August. My other main reason was that I had a plethora of personal issues going on this summer, and was not able to focus on my own content, let alone this event.

However:

If people are still interested in an event like this, this year’s could be remodeled into being a Stitchmas in September, since that fits right in with the timing of the hiatus. I’m sure there are so many content creators who want to create their own version of what happens after that heartbreaking finale, or those who want to make something completely different. No matter what it is, I and the rest of this fandom would love to see it!

Stitchers - Episode 3.08 - Dreamland - Camsten scenes p1

July 31 (9:01 – 10:02 p.m. EDT) – Episode 3008 – “Dreamland”

The chances of us getting a season four are slim to none. If we worked this hard for season three, we’re gonna have to work twice as hard and get three or four times as many views just to be *considered* getting renewed.

The writers know this.

Why do you think Camille has a girlfriend?

Why do you think Camsten is so strong?

Why is everything we’ve asked for so far been shown in the promos?

Either A, it’s a lure to get people back into it after this past year; or B, it’s because they’re aware of the great possibility of the show not getting renewed again and then wanting to give us everything we asked for.

This could be absolutely amazing or completely disastrous. I say this because they could try too hard to please everyone and make the show “perfect” and then it just turns to shit, or it is absolutely perfect and works every way imaginable.

If it works out and it gets the views increase, maybe there’s a chance of a fourth season. I’m not holding my breath. I think majority of this fandom has moved onto other shows and probably forgotten what last happened. Yes, the major points are remembered, but what about the little details that could make or break it?

So, I think it’s time I shared my own. I’m not going to hate anyone for sharing what they hold to be truth in their heart. It’s not what this fandom or myself believe in doing, so I won’t start now. I also don’t feel the need to start a war over this. I don’t have time for that, either. But I will say this:

What’s so wrong with working twice as hard for a season four? Even if it doesn’t come to fruition, at least I know that I did my part and I worked my hardest for something I love. Even if it seems like a fool’s errand? I still want to know that I tried to make a difference and I tried to work for something that has done so much for me.

I know that not everyone feels this way. Sam is right, people have no doubt moved on from Stitchers, finding other shows or focuses that have deeper meaning for them than a show on Freeform. I get that and I respect that. What I don’t understand is how easy it is for people to give up…  I know no one wants to be on the losing side of things.  Having your favorite show cancelled, it sucks. I’ve been there. It’s the worst feeling in the world.  But why not channel that energy into making something work in your favor, instead?

I am not a writer for the show. I cannot claim to know what the writers ambitions are when they started writing this season. But one thing that they absolutely understand is that they wouldn’t have been able to write a season three at all had it not been for every single fan-big or small-out there. Because this is something I understand. To my core. You all did incredible, amazing jobs to get the show renewed and you fought terribly hard and had steadfast patience and did not give up.  Season three is for and because of you guys. 

Shows progress. Not everything can stay stagnant. That much is as truest of a statement as them all. The fact that Camille gets a girlfriend? The reason Camsten looks like it’s happening? These are all things that the writers decided to do because if we stayed in the same pattern, we would undoubtedly have lost a lot more viewers. Stitchers, as well as all of us, need that maturity. And there is nothing wrong with capitalizing on what the fans love. Tell me it hasn’t always been a dream of yours to watch Camsten love each other for an hour a week? It has been of mine, that’s for sure. Stagnation breeds boredom and in television, boredom is the worst possible death sentence imaginable. 

I will say this: I have faith. The premiere numbers were higher than any numbers last season and the average of last season combined. With more pushing and more luck, we can keep that a steady growth. Maybe even reach 500,000 viewers. We’ll see.  And through whatever higher being there is. Through some divine miracle that was placed before me: I had the extreme honor to getting to visit the set. I have met these people. I have given them hugs and have shook their hands. I have met people you see on screen every week and people behind the scenes that make it happen. The names and faces you don’t see, but because of your hard work, get to take home a paycheck every week.  They are so grateful for all of the work that each and every single person has done for them. They know that this was one hundred percent because of the fans. They don’t take that for granted, believe me. I have seen how hard those people work. I was there for thirteen hours and I had the privilege of seeing almost every aspect of what they do to bring one episode together. It is no small feat.  They work harder than you can even imagine. 

Having seen all of that for myself, it has renewed my fight. Having witnessed this fandom’s passion and love and strength to endure despite how hard the future may look, renews my fight every day.  You guys are the backbone of what we have.  Don’t give up.
