when it comes to shading I recommend starting by painting lots in black n white and study real life photography tackle on colors once you feel confident in your rendering abilities cause painting on colors I would say is harder when it comes to colors I honestly dont really know how to explain it besides just always experimenting with neighbouring colors I also recommend sticking to the same art software if ur doing digital dont bounce around different ones as it may be a distraction to your learning process stick around with one and master it sadly the one I decided to stick with is windows 7 mspaint :,) ill start using something better eventually thank you for the kind words have a nice daye
