Stigmata.

She leans her elbow on the table in order to rest her chin on her hand nonchalantly. “You wouldn’t be looking to set me up with anyone, would you?” Her eye is set on someone more than likely unattainable. But that’s not for Luciano to know. “It’s not too hard, I assure you. I’m what most guys like to call ‘easy’.” 

“It’s pretty simple, really. There are two main criteria that the outfit has to make, right? It has to look good, and it mas to make me look good.”

“Easy, huh?” Luciano nods, thinking a moment. “I dunno, let me just pull out my phone book.” He chuckles, running his fingers over the soft polished wood of the table.

“Yanno, shit happens. Name me three things. ‘m curious now what kinda douche you’re making him out to be.” Unbearable asshole? He and Farkas apparently had a lot more in common than he took at face value. Still, he thinks it has more to do with the broad.

“Borsa Italiana,” she repeated. As hard as she’d tried to sound like a native Italian speaker, she wasn’t even close. The faintest hint of her Inverness drawl was ever present. “So you’re good with numbers, huh?” She internally cringed at that. History was her forte, but math had always been her enemy. “Don’t get me wrong, I understand the necessity of math in the modern world and in historical terms, but I hate it so much. And I know you get this a lot,” she placed her hand over his arm, giving it a gentle squeeze. “But it’s just so awful. I don’t know how you do it.”

“Sure..” He nods, glancing down at her hand. “I get it. Numbers just...make sense to me..you know? Like, I’ve never really had to struggle with them.”

“But I’m also really good at history.” Luciano laughs, “It’s strange but..I feel as though I could have lived in the past..” 

❛ Getting my ass dragged to court over a ticket is definitely not on the list of things I wanted to happen today, ❜ Gilbert laughs right back as he finally turned down the main road ; marveling at just how smooth it felt to drive this car. Damn, now he wanted to get a sportscar.

❛ It’s downtown, near the Kurfürstendamm. Won’t take us long at all to get there, ❜ He gave a small shrug, stealing a brief glance at his brother-in-law.

Luciano laughs, his mouth spreading into a wide grin. “Nice, huh?” He chortles, playing with the soft fabric of his shirt. 

She spends a few more moments spinning, trying to acquaint herself with the view from varying angles. 

Amelia may be a snake, but not enough to try and trap someone who was trying to do right by their partner. Poor Luciano just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time (the time when she needed reassurance). “It’s definitely the frills.”

With her need for constant reassurance sated and her self-esteem refueled, Amelia gives a single barking laugh. “Can you find anyone around here worth impressing?” She can think of a few, but there’s just something to nice about having the reputation of a person to impress, rather than the other way around. “I’m just trying to clean out my wardrobe. I wanted to give this outfit one last chance to prove its worth to me.” 

Luciano regards her question, taking a quick moment to observe their surroundings.  He turns back to her, an amused smile on his face.

“I mean- depends on what you’re looking for.” He shrugs, leaning on the table casually. “What IS your type, Amy?” He asks teasingly, a smirk playing on his lips. “Who could be so lucky? Catching Ms. Amelia Armstrong’s eye.”

“I teach AP US History in Boston, Massachusetts.”

It then dawned on her that he didn’t have the faintest idea what that meant, so she further elabroated on the subject. “It’s basically a U.S history college class but taught to students still in high school, or at an upper secondary school here. It’s a bit challenging… for them,” she placed one hand over her chest, as if emphasizing herself. “Not for me. I did that already. What about you? What do you do?”
