my right leg hurts so much it's transcended pain and rocketed to new heights of... something. every time I raise my arms above my head or sit up I get tunnel vision. i want to be crying and screaming but that would hurt too much so I'm just sitting quietly because I don't have any options.

I finally got my new back brace, after a massive rigamarole and it’s SO UNCOMFORTABLE. It’s like they never even considered that someone wearing this might have a waist, so it’s kind of like a waist cincher in format except it’s PERFECTLY STRAIGHT ON THE SIDES. fucking NOTHING is made for women or chubby ppl or really anyone who isn’t a skinny/medium cis dude and. it’s awful.

my doctor wanted me to have something flexible, with compression, but the orthotics and prosthetics company were like “oh, well, insurance won’t cover anything with elastic because you can just buy it off the rack” and lllllike... yes.... but like insurance covers a LOT of other things that you can just buy! You can just buy glasses. You can just buy most durable medical equipment. You can just buy otc meds, but if i have a prescription for them my insurance will cover them. It’s completely fucking bonkers logic!

like I know a lot of people don’t have coverage for vision or DME (i certainly have not always) but i have medicaid and it DOES COVER all the things i listed? but not an orthosis with elastic. because reasons.

i broke down and bought one on amazon that wasn’t that expensive, but also, I don’t have a lot of money. i hate insurance! I hate the whole concept! i should have medical care because i am a human being, we all should, we should not have to grovel and scrape to corporations/the government/both. fuck everything

like people are going to assume we’re all incompetent anyway so i might as well use my powers of appearing totally helpless to get my friend out of a really awkward situation? bc sometimes you don’t have the energy to be like “stop following me thru the craft store asking me about my dog”
