explosive behavior || stevie and rowan
five weeks pregnant. five weeks pregnant. five weeks pregnant.
Even after the news settled into her mush of a brain, it still didn’t seem real. It took her days to even process the news herself, let alone having to inform the others around her. Her bandmates were the first to know, all of them giving her separate reactions; shock, excitement, disbelief, anger even. She didn’t really blame them, she didn’t know how to react herself, a part of her knew she couldn’t get rid of it, or even put it up for adoption, it was a part of her, and it was a moment she knew thought would happen for her. The wild girl throughout high school and even now and it all changed in a blink of an eye.
It took her almost a week or two to figure out how to tell Rowan. Getting her own bearings and setting doctors appointments, it all was happening so fast, her Friday nights changed from drinking and drugs to settling into her couch with a pregnancy book and crackers, it was hard for her to even register it all. Quitting smoking cold turkey was rough, and it made her more angry than normal, plus all the swirling hormones? Stevie was a force to be reckoned with every where she went, and others around her saw the change as quickly as she did. However actually contacting Rowan seemed tricky than it did before, his number was never saved in her phone but she knew where he hung out and hell, they went to they same recording studio it should not be this hard to track that annoying british man down, and somehow it was.
Three whole days. Of texts ignored and calls ringing into voice mail, he was not that busy, they both knew it, and it was making her patience run very very thin. How many times does she have to send ‘we have to talk’ before a man realizes theres an issue? Apparently there’s no real answer, because he didn’t answer a single one. Was she always the best? No, but she wouldn’t have ignored him after the tenth call! Sure she’s annoying, but how did it not click in his stupid man brain that this could be serious? They aren’t friends by any means, but she’s never called him like this.
She went to his apartment first, fist pounding on the door for a solid five minutes, trying to hear something on the other side of the wood, but was only met with silence. Strike one place off her list, and more time that passed in between trying to contact him the angrier and angrier she got, and he was about to face all of it. The next place she checked was the recording studio, it was a local one, and they both constantly ran into each other, so there had to be a way for him to be there. The lady at the front desk was on the phone, she was girl they all knew and Stevie was coming in hot. “Listen Edna, I need to know what studio Rowan is in.” The woman looked up at her, annoyance and disgust plain on her face, and the blonde didn’t have it in her. “You either tell me yourself or I reach other and find out myself and we both know I will.”
Marching up the olden stairs, her feet got heavier and heavier, “Making me walk up fucking three flights of stairs, I’m going to kill him” Stevie was muttering under her breath, clenching her fist as she rounded the corner. Peeking into each room, she almost let out a cheer when she saw his name in messy hand writing on the white board outside the door. The recording light was well lit, but if he didn’t care to answer her, she didn’t care to respect his recording time. Rowan was behind the glass, recording some song while the other men turned around trying to get her to leave saying curse words and pushing her in the opposite direction, it took one hard shove before the man trying to grab her wrist was sprawled back into the chair. That seemed to be enough to realize not to touch her, the absolute balls of them. Her hand reached over to stop the music, watching his own irritated gaze meet hers, before smirking and grabbing the mic hard, not caring when it cracked and brought the booth to silence. The anger was rolling off of him clearly, and she cleared her throat after tapping on it one more time, just for good measure. “Hi honey.” She started with a smirk, bitter and angry.
Looking down she pressed the button, hard, clearing her throat into the mic completely throwing him off and the anger rolling off of him was clear as day. The blonde was filled with fiery purpose and anger, and hades couldn’t even compare to the murderous look on her face at this point. She didn’t care that he was mad, she didn’t care about anything but the fact she wanted to kill him. “Normally, when someone continues to fucking call you, obviously theres an issue. And I don’t like you enough to accept any stupid excuse you’re trying to work up right now.” The men in the chairs next to her were staring, wide eye and speechless. Who knew what was going through their heads right now. Her hand reached into her back pocket, picking the sonogram apart and slamming it against the recording glass, as they stared at each other. “Congrats Daddy. I’m six weeks pregnant, wanna know what that means?” Stevie was freaking really, this was new for both of them, but the anger chewed it’s way back up before it could stop. “Meets we’re stuck with each other for the next 18 years, and probably forever.” The grin on her face wasn’t anything nice, and she was so stressed she wanted to pass out, or throw up. “You would have known sooner if you didn’t ignore me, and you could have heard the heart beat yesterday, you would have known if you answered your DAMN PHONE” her voice was loud and irritated, and she flipped him off one last time for good measure before shoving the mic away from her.
He knew now, and there really was no going back, he’d figure out how to respond eventually, but whether he was involved or not, she was having this baby. With that she pushed off the control board reaching for the closest cup and near gagging when the beer hit her tongue, looking around for a trash can she quickly spit the beer back into the cup before handing it back to the man. “Thanks for that, disgusting.” And with that she left, giving him no time to react, knowing the explosive behavior was only yet to follow.
