It dawned upon Kenta where he had no idea where he was going. So naturally, the only correct solution was to drop dead in his tracks, and let Hitomi lead the way.

Hitomi hesitates, then nods, offering a warm smile. She wants to. She’s happy he asked! she thinks. Even though she confessed, he’s still so nice to her… That’s just the kind of person Kenta-kun is, huh?

Kenta was beyond relieved that his friend was okay, and yet felt bad about not making any effort to check otherwise. 

She nods, heart pounding. Even though she’s usually so happy to see him, why is it that his smile hurts so much now…?

Hitomi forgot to pack lunch today. She was a little too busy sobbing. So, now she’s downstairs on line at the cafeteria for once instead of eating her homemade boxed lunch. She looks around nervously for anyone familiar she could sit with.
