I h8 reblog bait but I got the job I really wanted and I just got my acceptance letter to study abroad in Athens today

this is going to be a rant so don’t read if u don’t want to but it really bothers me that “will you be making songs in english” is even a topic at interviews like it’s some kind of validation. you don’t see it happening the other way. no one questions english speaking artists if they plan to make songs in another language when they promote somewhere else. and this is not just about bts but it happens all the time in my country too and I don’t see why an artist would have to go to the extent of making a song in english to have some kind of validation in america. english is not the one true language everyone must speak and know to be relevant and I think people that go to the extent of expecting primarily non english speakers artists to make songs in english should get their heads off their own asses bc the world doesn’t revolve around you

stop trying to make people fit in your standards

if I HAD THE CHANCE TO TALK TO BTS id tell them they mean the world to me and that theyre doing so so well and inspire me to work hard at what i love and how they give me motivation to create artwork and graphics and they keep me going towards the future and towards my goals and i generally feel safer in the world with them there and how powerful they are that they dont speak my language but their music moves me so much, i wouldnt dare ask them to make songs in english bc all their poetry and emotion will be lost
