"i promise you that it is not straightforward at all, a wonderful question if you ask me," now how to answer it is the problem here. historians have documented things wrong before, maybe in aqua's world she was a man. "it could be because i was raised as a man, so i can assume the historians weren't super accurate."

He wondered if there were others like her?

"...No." His answer comes plainly and simply. "Judging people based on their past is not something I'm keen on." The entertainment industry taught him this. You wouldn't survive in the business if you cared too much about that sort of thing. There's merit to evaluating a person's past, this is true. But for Aqua, what matters is the now.

His question though earns a proud grin from her. "With these." And easily she pulls out a handful of nails and tosses them lightly into the air and catches them. "I imbue my cursed energy into these and can cause 'em to explode." She slides them back into her pocket.

But part of him was also morbidly curious about this.

"Show me."

"that part of my outfit is deliberate! think of it as my charm point, it usually ends up being the first thing humans see first." aware that her outfit is one accident away from a wardrobe malfunction, not that she would care...in fact it would be quite funny.

"That makes two of us then." Or rather, more of them. More people had voiced their support for his dear twin. He didn't show it, but that made Aqua feel happy. And proud. Ruby has what it takes to go the distance and he's glad that other people can see that in her, too.

Kugisaki blinks a couple of time, amber eyes watching his piercing blues. WHAT a weird guy. Then again, how jarring is it to be surrounded by more creatures and beings than you are used to seeing. MORE than half of the people in Spirale, she's read in books.

"It is a lot for someone I just met to put this on me. A lot of pressure." But did it truly bother her? No. She feels she can actually consider Ruby a friend.

"You think Ruby-Chan needs protecting of some sort?" She gets it. She'd probably be the same way if Fumi-chan were here.

So he needed people by Ruby's side who have a chance against such malicious whims. Just Ruby. Himself is another matter entirely.

An eyebrow was raised as the explanation began. Ruby would have questioned what he meant by "I named it that way" but he kept on talking. He knew her well enough to keep talking so that she couldn't get a word in before he finished.

The more her twin brother explained, the more incomprehensible the twin sister's expression became. Was she happy? Sad? Embarrassed? Truth be told, she was more in disbelief. "You... went that far for me? Even after I said those terrible things to you back home?" Even though they'd put it aside when they'd arrived, evidently it had still been weighing on Ruby.

So she was still thinking about it. That's fair. Aqua did, too. It's not something they can just brush off, despite them being on speaking terms.

"You do. All of it." His answer was simple and direct. Not once did he think that she wouldn't be deserving of her fulfilling her dreams. Not even after all those biting remarks she made to him back home. Besides the fact that he deserved such admonishment, he never once held it against her.

Damn, but high school, huh? "The Stars doesn't seem to discriminate when it comes to ages either." They muse to themselves mainly.

"I think I saw a kid around 12 wondering around the other day. I wonder if they bring infants too." THEY hope not. Or if they did, maybe a parent was brought along? How did that work?

He led the way, listening to his companion as they walked the halls of the university.

"I suppose it's just fair that way, harsh as it sounds." Indeed, it wouldn't make sense if the Stars picked and chose individuals out of their own biases. There seems to be none of that. Anyone was fair game, unfortunately.

Aqua earns himself a smile from Kugisaki at least when he talks about gaining knowledge about this place. She can respect that, admire that even. Someone who had all the odds against them learning in different ways to be prepared for anything was amazing. "I bet there's a lot of information about this place and the people in it to get you started." She pats Ofiuco's statue with a hum.

"I'm more of a long distance fighter." She admits after some time thinking. "But yeah, you can say that."

It reminded him of hollowness. Just an empty void.

"I see. I figured as much." She just has that vibe. The one where you look at her and go 'oh, you wouldn't want to mess with her'. Honestly she reminded him of those delinquent students that run their own gangs. He'll never say that out loud though.

"Don't worry, it's not for me. It's for Ruby." He clarifies, crossing his arms over his chest. "You're her friend. Someone who can fight, too. I've come to realize that--and admitting this isn't easy--that there will be times that I won't be there to protect her. You have a better chance at that."

Which was terrifying to hear from her mouth. Either the idea actually ended up being something good or Turbo was just talking random nonsense rather than anything worthwhile.

"You said your sisters idol career is paused because we're here right? And the same could be said for me and my racing because of this weird city we're all in." It was then that Turbo took a pause, either because she was just talking too quickly or for some "dramatic" reveal to the whole ordeal.

"Alright." Without hesitation, Aqua agreed.

There's that phantom pain on her right eye, but good thing she's got high pain tolerance. She's able to ignore it and walk it off. "She's alright. I guess." but Spirale did have its own history.

"You plan on learning the history of this place?" The question comes with genuine curiosity. "I'm sure everyone here could use some answers, since the Stars don't like sharing anything." Instead random and surprising stuff tend to happen left and right!

Aqua nods as she introduces herself. "Kugisaki it is, then." She already knew his name so not much point in telling her.

"Yeah... as much as I can learn, at least." He confirms this much to her. No point in being coy about it and so, he explains his reasoning. "Ruby and I are just ordinary teenagers. No useful skills to help defend ourselves nor any fantastical abilities. But if I can get both of us prepared with some knowledge... it's better than getting caught with both our pants down, so to speak."

She knew it was best not to have expectations. The entertainment world was harsh. Maybe he just wanted to ask her to submit an application? After all of his nagging about trying to get her to go to school here it seemed like he wanted her to be proactive more and more.

"Took my time!? This is the time you told me, right!?" Upon arrival, Aqua immediately made a comment. She looked down at her phone to prove him wrong but it had turned out she was two minutes late. Still, wasn't he being a little impatient!? Ruby did follow him without questioning things though. "So what's the deal with this place? Why does it named like Miyako's company?"

"Anyway, the answer's simple. It's named like that because I named it that way," he now answers as they both come up to the building's threshhold. He'll let that sink in her head for a minute before turning around to face her.

"You said you still wanted to be an idol here, right? When we first got here, I met someone. She's a reliable person." With a kindness he hardly deserved. But he had no right to refuse it, neither. "Well, a lot of things happened while we were here and somehow, I guess I ended up starting a new agency with her for you."

This was the goal. His goal. With no biological father in sight to exact revenge upon, Aqua focused his energy instead on supporting his dear sister's dream. As a way of atoning for a past misdeed and as a way of honoring Ai's wish for them.

"Oh, um... they're fine! You don't actually think I went an' stole a bunch've dogs, did'ya?" As if to prove her point, she holds up her hands, showing him that the tips of her fingers were in fact perfectly fine. "I've got no reason to do that, anyways! I've got enough money to adopt every single animal in a shelter if I wanted to."

"Well... this is a weird place," he says, leaning back. "I wouldn't say that but... I also wouldn't be surprised if you did end up stealing a bunch of dogs." Can anyone blame him? Spirale is home to weird, wonderful people. Anything's possible!
