My name is Kat, 32 years old, She/Her.

My physical Condition: I have a chronic illness called Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome where all the connective tissue in my body is defective and has an elastic consistency instead of strong and supportive. Lots and lots of things go wrong with my body because of the defect.

My Hobbies: So for that reason, I spend 90% if not all of my time in a specialized zero-gravity chair writing (mostly fanfiction but I have in progress original works, too)

Commissions: I have some major changes happening in my life and I'd love to try doing some? Art / Writing requests both are accepted. I have never done one before so please be very patient and clear with your request! I get easily mixed up!

Arc 4 Introduction Rant

“Yo!  TokyoAir5 just reported a kaiju incident in Onjai!”

Just as quickly, another patron in the diner laughed, “Who cares?  We only watch the Third Division here, new guy!”  A round of agreeing cheers went up, making a handful of the soldiers grin.

Nakanoshima giggled.  “Man I love how biased this place is towards us.”

“But...”  Ikaruga muttered.  “Onjai is in First Division territory.”  He eyed Hoshina across the table who gave a small, curt smile.

Reno was already on the case, scooting back from the table enough to see Iwata at the bar and asked, “Would it be alright if we make an exception?  There’s a good chance that Stella’s platoon will be responding to it.”

Iwata didn’t waste a moment grabbing the remote from under the bar and switching the TVs on the far wall until they landed on TokyoAir5.  “Say no more.”

The channel they landed on was already on footage of the scene with the camera panning towards the sky where a flock of blue and pink bird kaiju were circling in the air under the layer of thick dark clouds.  There was hardly any sun left so they could barely be made out in the growing darkness.

Kafka groaned.  “Aw man, bird kaiju huh?  Those can be a downright pain in the ass to deal with.

Iharu laughed.  “Yeah but have you been reading their reports?  Assuming Undergraw platoon is getting thrown at this one, too, it’ll be a breeze like it always is.”

Hoshina had to do his best to hide the smug pride in his voice, but it was still obvious to his closest cohorts, “Besides, Kafka.  All you need to deal with bird kaiju is someone with long range and good aim.”

Izumo, along with several others on the side of the table nearest the TV, turned their chairs around to be able to face the screen and watch.  He chuckled, “So what I’m hearing is this is gonna be another Stella show.”

“For those of you just joining us,” The reporter off screen announced from the TV speakers.  “TokyoAir5 here.  After following another story, we’re now in Onjai where a Kaiju Emergence has taken place.  We are outside the designated evacuation zone ourselves, and bringing you the closest look to the battle that we can.  We are still waiting to hear – “

The reporter had to stop talking and brace when a loud engine noise flew right overhead, wind whipping all around them.  The shadow passed over the camera and then disappeared as quickly as it came before the camera turned up to zoom in on a First Division jet flying towards the scene.

Ikaruga grinned.  “Right on time, there they are.”

“The studio has received permission to tune into the public communication channel of the Defense Force to bring you live updates as quickly as we can.”  The reporter continued.

A moment later, a small overlay came up in the top right of the screen with a title that said “Division 01 Public Dispatch.”

The first captured audio was –

“Oh my god she’s really fucking doing it.”

The censor beep came up a full second too late and in reaction, the news station put up a quick overlay under the audio that said “User Discretion is advised”.

The entire diner exploded into laughter.

Izumo commented, “My god they must hate having to manage Undergraw’s foul tongue live on air.”

They recognized Estella’s unusually icy voice come through as she quipped back, “I don’t break my promises, Cece.  I said I was going to and I am.”

Aoi sighed.  “Once again they’re fooling around a mission.  After reading their reports, I can’t believe they get away with some of the things they do.”  He looked across the table at Hoshina and asked, “Got any idea what tonights fiasco is about, Vice-Captain?”

Hoshina shrugged with a toothy grin, “Nah, I only have as much context as you do this time.”

They were all surprised to hear Captain Narumi’s voice come through on dispatch as well from the operations room, “Gah!  Nakao, stop!  You son of a b****.”

Once again they all howled with laughter when Narumi’s curse managed to get captured by the censor beep this time.

Cece just laughed while the footage showed the jet continuing through the sky towards it’s destination, the camera constantly zooming in to follow it.

Narumi cried out, “Cece, do something!  She took another one!”

Trying to maintain professionalism amongst a bunch of immature soldiers, Shylyn requested in a clipped tone, “A256 entering private airspace, requesting clearance of 15 kilometers for an arial neutralization zone.”

Akira responded just as dutifully, “Permission granted.”

Cece then steamrolled them with, “This must feel so awful for you, Genny-poo.  I mean there’s absolutely nothing to be done to stop your torture.  And the truth is, you brought this completely on yourself.”

“You – You - !”  Narumi’s voice was getting higher and higher in pitch.  “You gave her the weapon!  And you’re her platoon leader!  Just order her to stop!”

With no effort whatsoever, Cece casually demanded, “Stella, stop.”

For a moment there was silence, but in the distance, the transmission picked up a winning chime noise like someone had just collected treasure.

It was comedically followed up with Narumi screeching, “She didn’t stop, she just took another one!  Cece!!!”

Cece hit a note on her guitar that was loudly picked up by the audio.  She then stated, “Sorry, Genny-poo, I tried.  Oh, but I just came up with a new song for you, here:”

“My game records lie over the ocean...

My game records lie over the sea...!

My game records were once so precious...

Till my girlfriendsbestfriendstole them from meeeee~”

Narumi just flat out screamed in frustration.  “Whose side are you on, Cece!?”

“My side!”  Cece laughed.  “Always my side.”

Domino added in, “I know you can write better lyrics than that...”

Cece gasped, “Oh come on.  I was winging those!  I thought I did pretty good!”

“Fine!” Narumi shouted.  “Nakao, you are on a job.  Put the damn game down and focus!  That’s an order from your Captain.”

Estella’s voice could not have been more unamused, “The sheer hypocrisy of your order is astounding.”

For good measure, Domino added, “We’re still two minutes out from reaching the target range for being able to hit them.”

“Raize, I will terminate your employment.  All of you!”  Narumi weakly threatened.

The entire diner was full of laughs.  It’s like they were watching a skit instead of prep for a kaiju battle.

Estella snapped again, “See, Captain Narumi, this could have all been avoided.  I was going to go have a lovely evening drinking with my friends and catching up with my crew – “

Domino and Cece both made painful hissing noises.

“Ouch.”

“Savage.”

Domino asked, “Hear that, Cece?  We’re not her crew anymore.”

“Instead of that.”  Estella continued, unabated, as another winning chime noise went off.  “I’m going bird hunting.  So with every extra second of time that Dom says I have, I’m going to take every last freaking one of your stupid sniper achievements in all of these loser pleb games you play – oh my god this one is actually for children.”

“I have had that title for 12 years, Nakao, so help me – “

“Die.”

Another winning chime went off, echoed by Narumi screaming.
