About Me

My name is Kat, 32 years old, She/Her.

My physical Condition: I have a chronic illness called Hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome where all the connective tissue in my body is defective and has an elastic consistency instead of strong and supportive. Lots and lots of things go wrong with my body because of the defect.

My Hobbies: So for that reason, I spend 90% if not all of my time in a specialized zero-gravity chair writing (mostly fanfiction but I have in progress original works, too)

Commissions: I have some major changes happening in my life and I'd love to try doing some? Art / Writing requests both are accepted. I have never done one before so please be very patient and clear with your request! I get easily mixed up!

Arc 4 Introduction Rant

Hoshina couldn’t stop thinking about what had happened the moment he tried to link with No. 10.  He knew that part of the kaiju’s consciousness remaining active meant that they would be integrating mind and tissue, but he just hadn’t thought enough about what the mind portion of it was going to be like.

He could feel and hear all of Kaiju No. 10’s thoughts the same way the kaiju could his.  He thought that’s all it meant.  He hadn’t considered their minds linking would make the kaiju’s instinct start to feel like his own.  He had felt his own memories and thoughts, but there were instincts and emotions tangling into them that he had never felt or recognized before.  The moment it started to feel like the kaiju was tainting his own thoughts, he had pulled back from the connection and actively fought against it.

Which was the moment he had lost consciousness.

Protecting those thoughts from kaiju No. 10 meant refusing the assimilation.  If this was going to work... he had to let it happen but without losing his own self in the process.

He didn’t want to admit it out loud, but he was suddenly understanding Okonogi’s fears with a lot more clarity.

His thoughts came to a crashing halt when he felt the delicate hand in his slip free.  He stopped out of worry only to feel her arms slide around him from behind, hugging his waist and bringing herself to his back.  Her head nestled perfectly in between his shoulder blades, just under his neck.  Despite how soft her arms were, her hold was firm.

And he melted into it.

Every last thing on his mind simply fizzled out, replaced with a powerful sense of peace and warmth.  He let out the longest, heaviest sigh, full of all the weight of his decisions.

With a loving smile, Estella said into his back, “I don’t know if there’s anything I can do to help you with this... but I’m right here with you still, okay?”

Hoshina knew his reflexive withdrawal from No. 10 had been more about her than anything else.  Because of the new promise he’d recently made to her, not to lose himself to the kaiju, his thoughts during the assimilation had naturally turned to her when he felt the uncertainty creeping in.  He couldn’t let the kaiju to taint anything – his feelings or memories - that involved her.

But that was the opposite of what he should have done.  If he wanted to stay grounded in himself despite integrating with Kaiju No. 10, he needed a powerful emotion or thought to hold onto.  One that he knew was his and could never be contaminated by any force.

His love for her.
