001. This blog is highly selective and private. As a returning vld veteran who's written these characters since 2016, I've seen the absolute worst of the fandom and I have no interest in engaging in ancient discourse. I do not support proshipping (pedophilia, incest, etc.) nor the act of anti-shipping, which I often witnessed in the form of harassment, doxxing, death threats, suicide baiting, and turning a blind eye to actual problematic content when it was convenient. If you do not like what I ship or headcanon / diverge from canon on, then please block me.

002. My portrayals lean more canon divergent than canon compliant depending on the character and thing. A summary of divergences can be found on each respective character’s profile. Only seasons 1-6 are recognized on this blog; anything after that will be heavily plotted. I refuse to acknowledge most of season 8 because it was utter trash and all of the characters deserved much, much better than what they got. This blog is closely affiliated with stellacordis. All Galra and Galaxy Garrison worldbuilding follows Delta’s headcanons; the latter erasing the use of child soldiers in canon. Because yeah, we’re not doing that.

003. This is a low activity blog. I do have chronic and mental health issues that will affect my activity. I also have other responsibilities outside of Tumblr that will impact my availability. Therefore, replies will be slow and I prefer not to be 'poked' about when I'll reply to something. The speed I reply to things also isn't an indicator of my interest in you and your muse. I genuinely am just that slow and tired.

004. Because of the inherent nature of the vld universe, dark themes will be present on this blog in form of violence, torture, genocide, experimentation, and other war-related themes, as well as mental and chronic health issues. While suggestive themes might be present, smut will be a rare occurrence. If it ever does happen, it will only be with close friends and ship partners.

005. This blog is OC and AU-friendly! If information about your OC is accessible and I can see our muses meshing well together, then I will follow you. I am picky about crossovers, but I’m not opposed to them.

006. I will not follow / will unfollow for any displays of bigotry, character & ship hate, if the blog content makes me uncomfortable, excessive negative or ooc posts, and a lack of tagging that makes it difficult for me to properly blacklist or filter. I will be highly selective about following people who are below 21 for my own comfort. Minors will be softblocked ( refollowing will result in a block ).

007. I’m open to writing most things but content that I will not write is noncon / dubcon, incest, pedophilia, and beastiality. I’m not great at writing fight scenes, but I’m not opposed to it ( it may take me longer to get to these threads though ).

008. For my peace of mind, I will only be shipping with close friends of mine, but I am still open to developing all types of dynamics outside of that circle, be they platonic, familial, antagonistic, etc.

Shiro is single ship with stellacordis’ Keith. We have two years worth of joint pre-Kerberos plotting and an established romantic ship from before canon revealed Keith and Shiro’s past. Therefore, we will not be acknowledging canon here. Our personal timeline and all divergences set in place can be viewed here. If this makes you uncomfortable, then please block me and do not follow.

Family:

- Zarkon, father (deceased) - Honerva / Haggar, mother (status plot dependent) - Tavin, first cousin once removed

Height: 6'4" ft Hair: White, may look silver in different lighting. His hair flows past his mid-back and is naturally wavy. He often wears his hair down and swept back with a single forelock, which hangs down around mouth-length. Eyes: Blue w/ yellow sclera, eyes may appear purple in different lighting Body Type: Ectomorphic / mesomorphic, athletic, inverted triangle, lean muscle mass Other Distinctive Features: Pointed ears, fangs, and claws. Altean markings which reappeared after his second visit to a restored Oriande, becoming a permanent feature upon gaining the secrets to Altean Alchemy. The markings are light purple in color and take the same shape they did in 6x06. Scars: tba Clothing: As he comes to slowly accept his heritage post-series, Lotor takes to wearing attire that is a cross between Altean and Galran clothing. His main weapon is also a cross between an Altean and Galran broadsword.

Canon Divergence:

- Lotor does not die after the events of season six. Instead, the overexposure to quintessence places him into a semi-conscious and weak state, which allows Honerva to easily control him upon freeing him from the quintessence field. After some internal struggle, Allura goes after Lotor instead of Honerva during their battle in Oriande, having left him behind once already and unable to do so again. She rescues him from Honerva’s control but must leave his Sincline mech behind to get out of the collapsing Oriande in time. Returning to the Atlas, Lotor is placed under medical arrest while he recovers.

Upon his recovery, Lotor is approached about Honerva, which he doesn’t respond to eagerly; bitter about the team wanting to talk peacefully and work with him now. He refuses to help them at first until Allura persuades him, alerting him to the destruction of something still equally as important to him: Oriande. The news that Honerva destroyed Oriande to bring him back angers Lotor. Allura continues with how they have a common enemy and if he really is sincere about bringing peace to the universe, then help them stop Honerva. Lotor eventually relents.

- Lotor joins the paladins on their mission to locate Honerva through entering her mind after convincing them to allow him to come ( joining Shiro in the White Lion ). Despite not being bonded to the paladins, Lotor can enter the plane through his familial connection with Honerva and his untapped magical / alchemic abilities. He is also unaffected by the entity because of his immunity and not being bonded to the team. However, he is capable of sensing the entity Allura is bonded with and can confirm her feelings on it leading them to Honerva.

He becomes concerned over the possibility of her succumbing to the creature if she’s not careful. When the paladins are being dragged beneath the floor to face the OG paladins, Lotor grabs Allura and attempts to pull her back up. It is through this same mission that Lotor meets Zarkon, untainted by the rift, and does receive some closure in regards to his father. Lotor helps Allura back to the Red Lion after Honerva attacks her through the entity.

- He also assists the team in the final battle with Honerva after fighting Narti, who was sent to retrieve him by Honerva. Once she has been safely confined to the medbay, Lotor leaves with Shiro in the White Lion to meet up with the team and persuades Honerva to put an end to this senseless battle.

- Post-series, Lotor leaves to do some soul searching, finally able to explore the universe like he’s always wanted. He knows that no one will be quick to return the Galra Empire to his control as things currently stand, if at all, and having lost everything, he doesn’t have any ties keeping him there. Tavin joins him on his travels, helping to guide him during that transition period. They eventually end up back at the restored Oriande where Lotor obtains alchemy the second time around, having sorted out why he failed previously. In acquiring the secrets to alchemy, Lotor also receives his Altean markings.

Encounters with Lotor from this point will vary and can be plotted.

Portrayal Notes:

- Lotor was aware of Honerva and Haggar being one and the same before the reveal in season six but refused to acknowledge and accept it until he had to, and again in season eight.

- He has complicated feelings towards his parents. While he does harbor resentment towards them for his abusive and neglectful childhood, killing Zarkon still actually left a feeling of melancholy within him. Honerva he disliked the most because she shattered his ideals of the Altean mother he never knew, nevermind his idolizing that side of his heritage.

- Lotor does have some self-hatred, especially directed towards his Galra heritage due to the ideology constantly being drilled into him by Zarkon. He idolizes his Altean heritage and places it higher than his Galra heritage out of spite, but he is slowly working out of that mentality, learning to love both sides.

- A lot of his behavior, even subconsciously, is the result of ten thousand years worth of abuse and neglect, which caused him to develop C-PTSD and abandonment and trust issues. Lotor allows very few people past his walls. He has a tendency to lash out in anger and anguish at perceived acts of betrayal, making him say and do things he normally wouldn’t. Despite keeping most people at arm’s length, he doesn’t like the feeling of loneliness and even fears being alone.

- Part of Lotor’s aggression during his fight with the Paladins in s6 stemmed from the broken mate bond he formed with Allura. It broke when her quintessence rejected his upon learning about the colony. The broken bond resulted in excruciating physical and emotional pain. While Lotor is aware of mate bonds, he hadn't realized he formed one with Allura until later on. Therefore, he's surprised to learn that he had a mate bond in the past, which he comes to recognize was with her.

- The trauma of helplessly watching Zarkon destroy the planet he strived to work with peacefully led to his actions with the colony despite it crossing a line. Lotor felt using the colony was his only option left after every other plan to end the war failed. He didn’t want to risk another innocent world being annihilated because of his actions, as it was his taking the pacifist route and refusing his father that led to the planet’s destruction. In the beginning, the colony truly was meant to be a safe haven for Alteans before it escalated.

- His goal of obtaining a source of unlimited quintessence for the empire to cease its killing of innocent planets and put an end to the war was always sincere. He never once lied about that, but he did manipulate Team Voltron in the beginning to ensure his plan would be put into action. However, towards the end, he did begin to genuinely care about the team, especially Allura.

- Lotor has a dry and dark humor.

Canon Divergence:

- Lot/ura and Allur/ance are not automatically canon and requires plotting.

- Allura does not die at the end of season eight and instead becomes the queen of the newly revived New Altea.

Canon Divergence (stellaverse):

- In the stellaverse with stellacordis, Allura succeeds Keith as Red Paladin after he is chosen by the Black Lion.

- The first time Allura attempts to connect with Red, she is rejected by the lion. While her feelings are sincere, there’s still too much personal gain in the request out of nostalgia and wanting to follow in Alfor’s footsteps. Red isn’t going to allow her own bias to blind her judgment. However, when Allura returns to Red during the attack from Lotor, Red does respond to her because there is now more instinct guiding her actions purely out of the need to protect and help her team as opposed to the former. It’s no longer a heavily sentimental matter, on top of previously letting go and accepting that someone else is better suited for the position, thinking about what’s best for the team over herself.

- Allura and Keith do have a bayard pass off moment themselves before heading off to pursue Lotor. Overall, the events surrounding the lion swap helps the two of them bond more following their reconciliation in season two.

- Allura still struggles to adjust to the difference in controls between the castleship and the lion, on top of Red’s speed.

- Allura and Lotor still face off on the storm planet. Red makes Allura figure out what it is that she needs to do to bond with her and get out of their predicament. Allura eventually does, learning to see through Red’s eyes and finally adjusting to the Lion’s speed. They manage to outmaneuver Lotor and damage his ship with Red's jaw blade, forcing him to retreat. Lance is the one who uses Blue’s sonic cannon to locate the rest of the team.

- Allura still connects with Voltron on Naxzela after Lance’s encouragement and frees them from the planet.

- Allura once again connects with Voltron in the quintessence field and releases the excess energy into Lotor and his Sincline mech.

- With the exception of Blue’s specific abilities, everything Allura does as a Paladin remains the same.
