that aside, HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE!!! i work 16 hours over the next 24 so chances are i'll still be on hiatus for at least the next few days, but i hope everyone is doing well and surviving this relentless holiday season

Kai’s partner Pokemon is a Glaceon that he nicknamed ‘Blueberry,’ she’s just a friendly baby who loves sweet curries and has absolutely no interest in battling. She doesn’t like being in her Pokeball either, which really doesn’t bother Kai at all. She’s very social and equally energetic and tends to get restless after too much time spent cooped up in her ball.

literally while i was first working on kai’s character and background he was supposed to be this cool, collected, confident steel-type prodigy-- how he ended up this easily flustered, accident prone little tsundere who’s scared of nearly everything is completely beyond me.

“o-oh….sorry ‘bout that”

          He had hidden himself in the grass, trying to get a shot of a nearby pokemon without scaring it off, guess he accidentally spooked someone.

Frown withheld successfully, a worried crease appears between furrowed brows as he notices the other man’s discomfort. Did he offend him in some way without knowing? Had he done something Kai hadn’t approved of? Perhaps he was merely blowing things out of proportion, he thinks with a huff as he turns to lead the steel-specialist towards the berry trees, maybe it simply was the heat? “How’re ya’ holdin’ up, mate? Ye’ thirsty? Famished? I’ve got fruit juice if yer’ feelin’ parched.”

He smiled in a way he could only hope seemed more reassuring than the last, not wanting to worry the other leader unnecessarily. “I would actually love some juice, if it isn’t too much trouble. What kind do you have? ... N-Not that I’m picky. Anything’s fine, really.” Kai couldn’t believe how chatty he was being; it seemed like getting himself to shut it was suddenly twice as hard as it ever was forcing himself to speak up, “Surprise me?”

“ Course I do !! Is everything okay ?? ”

“Everything’s fine! I hope I’m not interrupting anything, I’ve just been meaning to catch you ever since the championship ended. I was actually wondering…” Trialing off, Kai realized he didn’t remember anything he’d been planning to say. He’d practiced this; several times, actually. But he probably should have known himself well enough to realize he was just going to get nervous and forget once he actually approached her.
