The Hour that Never Was really is one of their best. Steed goes from being kind of carefree and having a good time to getting more worried and finally to just about losing it when Emma vanishes. It’s very subtle and works the tension really well.

One of the most beautiful screengrabs of Patrick and Diana. Bonus points for dude realizing he's being third wheeled into oblivion by Steed and Emma.

Bowles says nothing substantive about his work with either Honor Blackman or Diana Rigg, alas, although he does mention them in connection with The Avengers.

The phrase "get a room" was invented for these two. She looks him up and down, as he approaches. Then she places her hands on her chest, which, in body language terms, is a gesture of truth, or honesty and she asks this man (someone she trusts with her life) to appraise her body and tell her everything is back to normal. Somehow, he manages to make this appraisal both sensual and respectful. Then they're caught in that 'smiling at one another' loop, which another character has to snap them out of. It's a wonder Britain wasn't taken over by diabolical masterminds, the amount of time these two spent flirting.

Just gonna leave this here. No particular reason.

Poor Steed is so distracted.

Every time I see this scene, I expect her to kiss him before she leaves.

There's really only ONE way this image can be interpreted. But how dare we suggest they had any type of relationship other than coworker or "just friends".🙄 Puleeeeez, miss me with that mess mmmk

There's no way you adopt those expressions with someone unless you adore them, body and soul. Somewhere, there's a universe where there was no new wife and no controlling boyfriend and these two didn't feel the need to conduct their relationship in secret. Somewhere, there's also a universe where Steed and Emma stayed together and are #relationshipgoals.

Very normal and natural way to stand near a platonic work colleague.

I've noticed something new, during this scene from The £50,000 Breakfast. And it's not just that there's an almost kiss and Steed sniffs Mrs Peel's hair. After this, they're talking and Emma asks Steed if he's seen that morning's Times. He hasn't. But, after she's read out the name of Litoff's Niece, he says that he's already seen her name written on the pad by Mrs Peel's phone. If they weren't aware of Judy, until the morning paper, then that means they both woke up in Emma's apartment that morning, she did some investigating, while he was still asleep and he saw the name of Litoff's Niece as they left to go to his place, where they're having their morning coffee. Add to that, Emma never corrects Judy at the tie shop, when she asks her whether the tie she's buying is for a boyfriend, husband, or lover. They're so comfortable with their relationship at this point, it's practically public knowledge.
