Darlene, The Darling By: David Pineda

The role of an older brother isn’t quite easy on yourself having younger siblings that look up to every and anything you do and, as an older brother you only want to see the best for your brothers and sisters. As irritating as they might get love for family will always be there no matter what. You little sister could ruined a rare Yu-Gi-Oh you’ve had from your pre-teen years and by the end of that week you’ll forget it ever happen and not because it’s already ruined but the fact that you sister is just learning to live life and you understand what that is. I try to be a good if not great influence showing them the beauty in the world and giving them whatever they need to grow up and become something more then average. I believe in the powers of imagination no matter the age, it’s something everyone should always have within themselves. I watch my younger sister grow before my eyes and I see her character beginning to build inside of her as she imagines herself as a beautiful princess and there is no argument in mine or her mine that she’s not. I love it and it’s important for her to keep this strong imagination with her throughout her life. My two other younger brother are an important influence on her and so is my mother, father, grandmothers, grandfathers, etc. but for some special reason I feel as if she looks up to me the most and cares to know what I do in my day, How am I feeling, to even to try on my hats and try to imitate me. It truly amazing. I love her with all my heart. Darlene Pineda, age - Four,
