Having been named after a character in The Great Gatsby by my English-major dad, I thought I would ask about this.

#I was named after my great-great grandmother who got my family out of Germany before the holocaust #However my parents kinda had 2 names derived from her name (1 changing the spelling so people could pronounce it better)#(the other changing the gendering (and spelling))#coincidentally when I ended up choosing my own name I choose the other name my parents would have named me. I didn’t even know they would #have named me it lmao. I feel robbed of my own name /silly #and my name online (immory) comes from smooshing together some of my headmates’ names
