I never really thought that I would be one to teach. I have to say, I love it more than I thought I would. Being able to see the pride in peoples faces when they step back and look at an adornment they never thought they’d make with their own two hands , brings such joy to my soul. There really is no better time in Los Angeles than right after a rain. The air is crisp and clean, the colors are brighter and sharper. There’s this sense of calm and quietness that takes over this concrete jungle🌆that I just love! As I sit and work this morning, looking out the window at this beautiful sunny day🌞, I can’t help but wish it was raining again🌧, just so I can see the clouds clear🌤, a rainbow form🌈, the air crisp and the sun shine☀️. Remember that adornment I was working on a couple days ago, well here is the finished product. Used this beautiful “natural rust” colored cording, with small hints of “eucalyptus” as an accent color. Love that the piece is a bit off kilter from the arrow. Makes it that much more interesting to look at. This would look rad in your small space, as a statement piece, bring some fun drama to a nursery or kids room or be a great accent in your living room or bedroom. Meet Sandy and Surly Sam!!! I bought my hubby, @colestremtattooer and I tickets to a puppet making workshop with Roberto from @puppetryplus , for Cole’s bDay . We had the most amazing time creating these sweet lil puppets. The last of the last. Went to the studio an hour early and stayed an hour later to finish up the very last adornments for @bluestemhotel . When you begin a large project like this, sometimes it feels that the end will never be insight, but now here it is. A month later, in between the holidays, small business Saturday, the busy holiday season at the shop, still keeping up with custom orders, workshops and life, I can now say it’s done!!! I couldn’t be happier right now!!!! Finally get to see how my fiber art looks in the rooms at the @bluestemhotel , in Torrance, California. This has been quite the experience. Trying to figure out time management and the best way to tackle 116 adornments on a tight deadline as a solo artist, has been a challenge. It’s definitely been a humbling experience. I’ve learned that it’s ok to ask for help! That’s one of the hardest things for me to do. I never want to burden anyone, and always think that I am superwoman and can do it all myself. I’ve learned a lot about who I am, how I work and how to accomplish such a larger task. I’m so honored that Stay Adorned was asked to be a part of such a project.
