"That break you wanted for Roderich? Well...he certainly got a /couple/."
âYou bastard,â Damek stepped forward, hands clenched by his side and eyes ablaze. In contrast to his typical amicable demeanor this was certainly a sight to see; a quite unnerving sight if one were to be honest.
statocnost:
âYou hurt him. How can you laugh about that? Thatâs sick,â Damek stepped back, eyes still blazing, but the restraint showing that he understood confrontation wasnât preferable. It was a thin line he walked, and he knew that if he didnât walk away a physical fight wasnât unlikely.
âWhat are you hiding from us? Who hurt you? Whatâ what made you into a monster? Reallyââ
âSick? You should have never come here if you never wanted see something you call âsickâ.â The grin he had was still on his face, though at Damekâs next comment it quickly went away. Replaced by a sneer with gritted teeth. He had been called a monster before, he didnât care about that, but dredging up his past was a sore spot.
âWhy would you even care about that? Itâs not something you need to know.â
Damek laughed quietly to himself, a hollow humorless sound that held no warmth. What was he thinking? Just because Viktor was an asshole didnât mean he had to play the same way. Someoneâs pastâ especially one that was as sensitive as Viktorâs like wasâ shouldnât be forced out.
âI guess I do care. We wonder, you know. It doesnât change the fact that youâre a bastard, but I guessââ Damek cracks for a moment, lips pulled up in a mirthless grin, âSome of us are still too immature to realize that violence is not the answer, and anger is not the way out. I pity you.â
Oh, he knew it wasnât wise, but did he care? Not right now. Not really.
âWonder all you want, but youâre not getting it out of me.â He sneered at the other, a rage in his eyes starting to grow. Though he wasnât going to let a man like Damek get to him. At least not yet. âTo you it may not be a choice or the way out. If there was no resistance than there would be no need for what I do. But until that changes, things are staying the same.â
âNow take your caring elsewhere. If you care so much for Roderich youâd go running back to him to care for the pathetic man.â
âWell, I will, but thatâs not solving the root of the problem. Thatâs you,â He shook his head, his voice quieting despite his want for the venom to return. It would be therapeutic to punch the guy in the nose, but the Lord only knew how terribly that would end for him. He would refrain, and maybe, leave Viktor with one last thing to consider.
âMaybe if you werenât such an ass, people wouldnât feel the need to have to go behind your back to take care of things that they need to take care of,â Damek rubbed his arm, âGood talk. Iâm glad to see weâve confirmed youâre still afraid.â
