I think that you understand about hard choices one has to make sometimes for the sake of a mission. Things that sometimes, the younger paladins do not understand.

              “-- I wasn’t doing it for you.” SHIRO all but growls, leering back at the Galra. Although the team had decided against him at the Kral Zera, it had been a calculated risk-- one he’d been willing to take. 

honestly i feel pretty discouraged too. its been too hard to write keith on here and you were p much the only person I was keeping in this rpc for x3

A soft sigh left the man’s lips as he stared at the sterile walls of his room in the hospital. He was tired, his vision was fuzzy in his right eye. Adam’s head was killing him that was for sure.

Spending three years in Galra Gladiator ring, he has scars across his chest and legs. His arms had a few pop marks but that the extent of it. His hair was a mess, it had been braided back but since the battle it was a wild mess.

He didn’t expect to be visited, least of all his ex fiancé. Emerald eyes widened as the doors opened to reveal the captain of the Atlas, Takashi. He did his best to move on from him. Did his best to forget that face, his voice. But Adam couldn’t. He couldn’t forget what he did, what all those years meant to him.

Adam frowned as he listened to Shiro, why was he apologizing? “Then don’t say anything.” Adam replied simply, his gaze becoming slightly hardened. “if it was really that simple Takashi, you would have said it already.”

                 “... I.....”

“... I guess I just wanted to you to know that you were right.“

                     “If I hadn’t have gone... I do think I made the right choice in the end, but...”

“-- If I had known what I know now from the START...“

                   “.... I don’t think I would’ve went in the first place.” He murmurs, staying where he is and balling his hands into fists as he looks to the floor in thought. It was hard to say for sure, but the past was the past for a reason. “I should have treated you with more priority than the old dream of a long gone seven year old... You deserved better. I’m sorry for that.”

“.... I’m not asking you to forgive me.“

                       “I just thought that after everything that’s happened, you at least deserve a genuine apology....”

            The young captain’s boots impact the the tiled floor with purpose as SHIRO moves along the infirmary’s hallway, counting room numbers left and right until he reaches his ex-fiance’s, his breath hitching as he reaches for the keypad and hesitates.

Did... Did Adam even want to see him? 

                He’d left on such short notice, on such bad terms, that... Well, maybe visiting Adam wouldn’t be very helpful to his recovery, but at the same time... It had been so long since he’d last spoke to him, he just wanted to see him again-- even if he hated him for the rest of eternity. 

Closing his eyes, he presses one of the keys on the little device, opening them again when he hears the door slide open. The chemical smell of sterilizers and a cloying aroma of bleach floods his senses, immediately making him want to leave and never return, but his eyes soon fall upon Adam, lying in his bed. His brow furrows in uncertainty as he enters and allows the door to slide shut behind him. 

                “A-Adam...” He starts, but hesitates again. 

“I... There is-- so much I’ve wanted to tell you, and now.... Now--“
