This is just wrong. Otherkin is not roleplay, it is a spiritual and sometimes physical identity that one cannot simply manifest. It is worthy of it’s own classification due to its unique requirements and parameters in contrast to other forms of nonhumanity.

Otherpaws, on the other hand, as a grouping and identity, evolved directly out of cultural appropriation. The masks and things they use may not be a universal trait of therian culture, but most users of them are therians. They saw that we had these things and wanted it for themselves, then took it, giving themselves a new special title to try and avoid the inevitable backlash they knew would occur.

No? Furries are also a larger community past roleplaying. I’d also encourage you to look into the history. They grew up out of more than just appropriating spiritual coping mechanisms.
