So get this...

You asked many times the reason that you weren’t allowed to go outside. No answer yielded a result that satisfied you. If Legolas could go outside, why couldn’t you? Your father was always so strict about it, but every time he saw the desperation in your eyes, he couldn’t help but be ashamed of himself, keeping you locked up for his own selfish reasons. They were good reasons, but selfish none the less. So he did everything in his power to ease you pain. He would tell you tales of what goes on behind the gates, in slight hope that it would scare you. It never did.

That’s how he ended up here. He was pacing the floor. You were always there, like clockwork, nagging him to let you outside or at worst tell you a story. He always denied, told you to wait until at least he finished his meal. Although your insistence lessened over the years, he always thought that you were finally coming to terms with your lifestyle.

But now, as he looked at the table in front of him, meals untouched and getting cold, toward the door that didn’t opened, he couldn’t help but call in the guards. Legolas looked up to his father’s face to see his panicked eyes already looking at him. In a blink of an eye he gathered himself.

“Legolas, I want you to go to Y/N chambers and bring her here. I won’t let this disrespect slide. Bring her to me no matter what.”

At this Legolas sprinted to your room followed by two guards. He didn’t even knocked to get in. He knew something was wrong. His father never acted that way. He wasn’t totally surprised to see an empty room. But it was worrying to see a carpet flung to the side and a huge hole next to it.

“You. Go to the Gates and gather as many as you could to scout the outside.  You. Go to the King and let him know that Y/N has… escaped.” At this point, Legolas was already in the hole. When he quickly looked over the room he saw that the bird cage was open with Estel nowhere to be seen.

As he came out from the other side of the tunnel, it was eerily quiet. But your foot marks were still prominent on the damp forest floor. Calling over some of the guards with his hands, he started to follow your footsteps but started to sprint when he heard a couple of orcs laughing. He shot his arrow as your body fell to its side. The arrow pierced through the orc’s head and he fell down right beside you, still clutching the sword stained with your blood.

“Go after them!!”

Legolas slid to your side, and hold your body to his. Your eyes closed as soon as he turned your face towards him. You were still smiling while giving out your last breath, and Legolas’ tears mixed in with the blood on your neck. The journey back to the gates was one of the hardest things Legolas had to do. Crossing the bridge with you in his arms was the longest thing he ever felt. And standing in front of your father, seeing the tears fall down his face made him realize that this was all real. You were gone. In all your life living under the rules of the King, you died by your own rules.

Thranduil took you from his arms and crashed down on his knees. Your head lulled to his chest. It was all too familiar.

“I thought that at least I could protect one of them. But how wrong was I. I was never meant to raise her. She deserved infinitely better than me. She deserved your mother. She looks so much like her. Your mother, she… She loved you more than life itself. I wish this is a dream that I’ll wake up form. But I know too well that this is my punishment.”

Thranduil looked up to Legolas. His son, stripped away from her mother at such a young age, now saying goodbye to her sister. But seeing his father, finally talking about his mother, just because of your death infuriated him.

“She did deserved better. I’ll start the arrangements.” As he turned to leave he stopped himself just before closing the doors;

“If it’s any reconciliation, she loved you very much.”

“I wished I told her that I never knew I could love someone as much as I love her.”

“What do you mean what are you doing here? I live here!”

“Yes I know but you shouldn’t be here?”

“Are you planning on making another prank? I told you I was sorry. I thought we had a truce.”

“No. And yes, we do have a truce, trust me I don’t want to break it.”

“So what’s the big deal with me coming to my lovely common room in a lovely Saturday?”

“You said the reason! It’s Saturday! Weren’t you supposed to be at Hogsmeade?”

“Honestly Potter, you make less sense whenever I talk to you.” You shook your head and walked to a nearby table, dropping all of your belongings on it and collapsing on the chair. “Now if you will, I need to study. Not everybody can get an O like you can do without studying.”

“Well love, I appreciate the compliment, but really you told Matilda that told Amelie that told Arthur that told Sirius that you will go to Hogsmeade.” You cocked a brow at his fumbled speech but rolled your eyes.

“Well I told her that I might go to Hogsmeade if I can sort all my work out. Although I’m flattered that she thought I can finish all of them in time you can blame Flitwick for putting an extra test for Tuesday.” You cast your eyes at all the notes and started to separate them according to class and importance. After a long silence you almost forgot James was there. Almost.

“Sirius wanted to talk to you.” That caused a halt on your actions but you continued nonetheless.

“If he wants to talk me, he can. It’s not like I’m dodging him.” You spoke with a bitter tone.

“Hey I caught that!” he said noting your sarcasm. “Now don’t be mad. It’s us who needs to be mad. I mean it’s bad as it is, living with Sirius, it’s even worse now that he won’t shut up about you.”

You looked at him with an amused look and his eyes widened.

“I’ve said too much.”

“You’ve said just enough. But I’m still going to stay here and study.” You’ve returned to your notes and pulled up a book. That’s when James came and sit right next to you.

“Actually this might be a good thing. You not going to Hogsmeade, I mean.”

“How come?”

“Well I was thinking revenge…’

You looked up to the ceiling trying to remember the charm that turns objects to birds. You strained your mind whilst thinking ‘I don’t even like birds, why am I even trying.’ before whisper shouting ‘Avifors!’. You moved your hand covering the answer reluctantly, but you let out a big grin when you see that you got the right answer. Just as you were going to move onto the next charm the loud noise of chair scraping the floors distracted you. You looked up to see Sirius looking at you curiously.

“You thought I was avoiding you?”

“Hi to you too Sirius. Remus is sitting just over there, please do be considerate and not disturb him.”

“Do you really think I give a damn about Remus?” He said with a little smile, giving him a softer look.

“Yes, actually I think you give so much damn about Remus, James and Peter for your own good.” You said effectively forgetting the work you’ve been doing. He seemed to have that effect on you.

“Anyways you are much more pleasing to the eye, I must say.” He said leaning back in his chair before hunching over again. “But I was not avoiding you.”

You raised your eyebrow at him and he looked back guiltily.

“Okay, yeah, I was avoiding you. Just because I didn’t knew what to say.”

“You can start with a ‘hi.’ It’s common courtesy.”

“Well you and me both know that we are not ‘common’.” He said with a smirk while brushing his hair away. Your eyes lingered on his hair before returning his gaze.

“You seem to know what you’re saying now.”

“It’s because I’ve been practising for about a week now.” He said with a sheepish grin. “James told me you stayed back. I brought back some chocolate from Honey Dukes.” He said passing a chocolate bar to you. Form the corner of your eyes you noticed Remus shifting before returning to his book. You broke a piece and popped it in your mouth. You saw Sirius looking at the chocolate you chuckled softly before nudging him.

“Go ahead, you can have a piece. You know, I think this is the first time we conversed without interrupting each other.” After Sirius laughed and winked at you after successfully catching the chocolate he threw with his mouth, you got up to go over at Remus with the chocolate at your hand. It’s only been three days since the last full moon. “Remus do you want some chocolate?” Remus looked at you and smiled apologetically.

“Yes please.” You smiled at his politeness and placed the chocolate next to him. You were returning to your place when Sirius stood up and walked over to you with such confidence. Just as there was a couple of inches between you two he stalled looking back and forth between your eyes and your lips before they decided to linger on your lips. You drew a shaky breath before you cracked a grin, gathering all of your confidence.

“Go ahead, you can have a piece.”

Sirius looked overjoyed. Like a kid on a Christmas morning. You inched away from him with a mischievous glint but he caught on and pulled you close before kissing you. He tasted like chocolate and love. A loud bang sounded and Sirius jumped up with a high-pitched shrieking. You looked around at the colour clouds dancing around the common room. ‘That little bugger. ‘It will only effect Sirius’ my ass. Why does he insists on starting with me again, I will never know.’

Your eyes fell back on Sirius. He looked adorable with all the colour on him, blues, pinks, and greens and yellow. His face and hair was completely covered with colour. He put his hands on your waist and pulled you close, looking down at you with a smile.

“Were you in on this?”

“We were just trying to get a bit of colour on your face. I guess someone messed up the size of the bomb.” You smiled back up at him.

“I will get you back for this.” He said with a low voice.

“You’re a loser Sirius Black.” You said with a grin while drawing an ‘L’ on his forehead.

“Right now I feel like a winner.” He said and drew a smiley on your forehead before dipping down and smiling at you. Your noses were touching and you can feel his breath fanning on your face. The closeness was so intimate that get your heart beating faster than normal and after he locked his eyes with you he softly but surely kissed you again.

The taste of chocolate was faded but the taste of love remained strong. You may ask how love tastes. Well, it tastes like this moment.

“Why do I keep on getting affected by your pranks?” Remus asked in a fit of coughs.

“Hey I gave you my chocolate, be grateful!”
