Self Forgiveness
The Digital Circus ended in probably the best possible way it could. Every character had a moment. Moments throughout the series. The finale was focused on Jax because what we saw in the rest of the series wasn’t real. And the finale let us see who Jax really is. Meanwhile everyone else was already being their real selves and that was explored throughout the show.
The Amazing Digital Circus is about relationships. People who hurt each other. People who try to make things right, and then fuck up, and then have to keep trying because there isn’t another way.
Anyway I liked Gangle in the finale because she was allowed to not forgive Jax and no one made her feel bad for it. Also love Ribbit. And this whole fucked up little family.

1 minute into episode nine, I am dying here why is Jax picking the worst dialogue options 😭
Okay now that I'm done posting like a crazy woman, time to post my real thoughts on everything. First of all, it feels rewarding to see this series from beginning to end. I've been watching Glitch shows since Murder Drones, but I joined in the middle of its run. I've been around for TADC since the character introduction shorts and early promotional images. I know the fandom sort of soured this project for Gooseworx, but I hope she knows that she should still be very proud of what she accomplished. I think this was a satisfying conclusion. A show like TADC isn't a show where they have to defeat some big bad in order to save the world or themselves. It's more so a way for Goose to get a message across. That times may be challenging, and life may feel pointless sometimes, but it's important to find the people who matter to you and keep them close. Not only their sake but also for yourself. I know a lot of people don't like Jax's character. He's antagonistic, annoying, and hurts the people around him, but he does have a valid reason for being in this show. If Pomni symbolizes the message of the show, then Jax is the antithesis of it. He's an example of the destructive path one can go through if they continue to isolate themselves while in pain. Even when he finally does except help, a lot of the damage is already done. That's why he's the second main character. Everyone understands they can rely on others for help way faster then he does. I also appreciate the message of the finale that even if you believe you are a bad person, the best you can do is try to turn your life around for the better. It's never too late to improve yourself. I think that's a lesson both Caine and Jax both learned this episode. Speaking of Caine, I'm really happy that he didn't actually die in ep 8. He might not have liked that, but he needed that time in the void to reflect on his actions. Sometimes we need a break from the chaos in order for us to think rationally again. I think his ability to admit his faults and actually go out of his way to give the circus members some sort of closure really made me love him as a character. I also like Pomni and Ragatha's little bonding moment. Believe it or not, there are some people that think Pomni is uncomfortable around Ragatha or that Ragatha only relies on Pomni for validation, but this scene confirms that they do care about each other. So much so that they're able to be vulnerable around each other. They are good friends; they just also need to have good communication. Really the only thing I was kind of disappointed by was the way everyone excepted Jax and his situation with Gangle. I kind of feel like the whole "It'll take some time to forgive you but we're still glad you're here" talk that Zooble did should have been directed to Jax instead of Caine. Sometimes I feel like Zooble should have more mixed feelings on Jax. I also wish they gave a bit more time to Gangle's dilemma with Jax. Like I feel like there could have been a message of her not letting her past with Jax affect her and being able to co-exist with him, but she didn't have to forget about what he did to her or have to help him if she didn't want to. I feel like that was kinda touched upon in the actual episode but something about it felt too vague and brushed aside for me. I don't bring up my religion online often, but as a Christian I really do love the messaging of this entire series. We could really all do better to be kinder to one another. Thank you for showing us your art, Gooseworx. Oh, wait I didn't talk about Kinger this entire rant. Kinger is goated as usual.
