hi i read the ending of “It Matters Where (You Are)” and this is me if you even care
this is purely opinionated and sue me if im wrong ig
it was so beautifully written and the ending was just something that i think (maybe it’s just me) we needed.
it’s something that both nirei and endo needed too if they would have to live their own lives, themselves but you can’t fault me for crying about it!?!??
i love how relatable, and realistic, and genuine it all is. the decision making. taking a step forward and then two steps back before finding happiness. the self-acceptance and gods, the actions of moving forward (when he’s in tokyo).
i predicted how it’d end and i honestly just loved it, that it ended with him and endo exchanging one single question for each other, and you know that maybe the new life they had wasn’t a life as thrilling back in makochi— but it’s just as important and real, and it’s something that they needed and now wanted for themselves.
god do i have so much word for your work, i honestly love it to the core!!! i hope you’re taking care of yourself so you can write more heart crushing (positively) stories that i didn’t know i needed in this life.
like honestly, i wanted some nirei-centric stuff so i can satiate me missing that kid but YOU GAVE ME A HEART-WRENCHING FEAST I SO LOVED IT !!!!
Thank you so much for taking the time to ask me about my fic and discuss the aspects that you like!!!
I know the ending isn't what alot of people were hoping for, or even the ending that alot of people wanted. But for me it was the ending that I felt made the most sense to the characters.
When I initially started this fic, I will admit that Furin Trio was the end goal, but over the year that I had while writing the fic I had a lot of life experiences that changed my point of view on love and what people should do with it.
And the end result was that even if there's love between people, sometimes it's best not to act on it. People need different things to grow, change and at the end of the day, be okay.
We can be aware of the love and even appreciate that it's there.
But it doesn't need to be acted on; sometimes just knowing that there is love is enough.
Anyway thank you so much for reading my fic, and I'm glad that you enjoyed it!!!!
