"It has come in handy." Simon says, looking the thing over. He sees the various blades, and he then gives the handle a twist, raising an eyebrow at all the hidden compartment within such a simple looking device.

"Yeah! And I haven't even gotten to use all the different tools yet! If you unscrew that bit there, it even has a harpoon!"

Simon twists the handle right as Annus says that, and he sees the long pointed silver blade. Simon's mind goes quiet, his eyes staring at the weapon. He's seen knives, swords, guns, and of course the shovel...but he's only heard of harpoons from stories. And he remembers...exactly what they're used to kill.

Annus looks over, noticing Simon's silence. He sees Simon standing facing away from him, the harpoon part of the weapon in his hand. He isn't moving, just...staring.

"Simon? Buddy?" Annus asks, walking over, stepping over various boxes of junk. "You alright? You got quiet..."

"I-...I need to ask something of you."

Annus stops, tilting his head. Simon's voice is now quiet and low, a solemness to it. He remains faced away from Annus.

"Uh...yeah, what's...what's up?" Annus asks, suddenly feeling nervous for a reason he can't explain.

There's a moment of tense silence before Simon takes in a shuddered breath.

"If-...if something happens...and I b-become uh...mutated again...all the way..." He says with a wavering voice, his head bowing lower. "And...if I'm not...there anymore, if I can't be saved...if I'm going to hurt the others...I want you to be the one to kill me." He says quickly, Annus' heart dropping cold in his chest. "I trust your skill, a-and this weapon would make it quick, so just-"

"S-Simon, NO!!!" Annus cries, running ahead. He yanks the weapon from Simon's hand, and moves to face him. He sees Simon's face is neutral, but visible tears are dripping from the corners of his eyes. "Ok, ok, no..." Annus says, tossing the harpoon haphazardly aside. "Can I touch you?" He asks, and Simon looks about to protest...but with a choked sob, he nods.

Annus walks closer, and pulls Simon into a gentle hug, not holding him too tight. He feels Simon repressing sobs, his body shaking.

"Ok, first of all, that won't happen...ok, buddy?" Annus says, keeping Simon in his arms. "Actor knows better now, we know we can reverse it if it happens, so just...don't worry about losing yourself...you won't, and it won't ever have to come to me killing you...I-I can't do that, Si, I can't..."

Simon doesn't respond, but he shakes his head slightly. Annus sighs, and pulls back, gently holding Simon's good arm. He gives him a sympathetic smile.

"Come on, that's enough rummaging in my junk for one day-" He says, though he smiles when he hears Simon give the fainted of snickers. Annus' face gets hot. "HEY THAT'S NOT WHAT I MEANT-oh forget it!" He yells with a wave, Simon now fully smiling as he works to dry his tears. "Let's just...go get some fresh air and some lunch, aight? Sound good, big guy?" He asks, and Simon nods, rubbing his eyes once more.

"Y-yes, uh...sorry, for-"

"Nope! Nothin' to be sorry for!" Annus says, grabbing Simon's hand. "Now come on, let's go pester the doc!"
