Hey guys! I don't do post like this at all, but this is very important. The story is posted on the GoFundMe, but I will also share it here.

A close friend of mine, someone who I consider family is going through a rough time. On Nov 14th her husband tried to attack her Trans Sister with a barstool. My friend had a major surgery the day before, and her sister, took a month off work to help take care of her. However, from the moment her sister came, the husband would misgender them, get upset when they did things around the house, and even when his temper hit the fan, he attacked her for no reason. Forcing Claudia to move, to protect her sister, and rip a few of her stitches! We have since then, gathered up as much of her things as we could and get her to a save location. However, when we contacted the police, not much was done. Her husband continued to contact her, call her, message her, even reaching out to her friends to get information.

Claudia is safe, and her family is helping as much as they can, however she is in need of help! She is disabled and has no source of income, because she 1. Doesn't have a job and 2. Did not have a bank account (this has been fixed) However, in getting a new account, she found out that her husband opened a credit card in her name without her consent and she is an extra $1000 in debt!

We live in the South and although Claudia now feels safe enough to be her true self, as a part of the LGBTQ community, we are all aware that Louisiana isn't the best place for advocates in our rural city.

She is afraid since her husband has a good paying job and can afford a lawyer. As stated in the story on the GoFundMe, he would sometimes be good to her. But majority of the time, he would ignore her, only buy junk food, never fix things around the house, blame her depression for why he threw out her belongings, and wouldn't buy basic necessities! Since observing all of this, he even contacted my fiance and tried to manipulate information out of him.

Claudia did not expect him to be like this. While there were signs, when you are in that situation, you don't see them. For the past few years, his temperament with men would be on the edge. The only reason my fiance is "allowed" to be friends with Claudia is because he's taken. Her husband would get into altercations with other men and the only reason he attacked Claudia's sister, is because he did not see her as a woman. Because she is transgender!
