Rudeness aside, my best tip to anyone is to focus on “enjoying the Process.” Too often one gets caught up with wanting a specific “result.” But that’s NOT where your enjoyment should be. And by Result, I’m talking about what one deems as a “finished drawing.” (that in itself can differ)

Sure, a finished drawing is its own reward. & there will be as many of those as you want. But every time, the whole LEADING UP to that should be what’s fun.

So what is The Process? It’s the actual moving your hand and putting lines on a paper, over and over, be it with a chalk on a board or stylus in tablet. It’s the splashing of colors on a canvas & experimenting, with different tools, different brushes. It’s the observation of real life objects, photos or other art etc, & you being meticulous into replicating what you see on your drawing board. The Process takes Time and it takes Energy. That is why you need to have fun during it, otherwise drawing becomes taxing & tedious & your progress stalls.

So don’t focus on the result. Enjoy the Process. The studying & breaking down of objects in your mind & the training of your hand & the joy of experimenting tools etc. I’m not saying it’s always all peachy for me. I do have times when I’m forcing myself & it stops being enjoyable & I need a break. Or when I berate myself for my results. That’s why, in order counter it, I constantly remind myself of this. Because I’ve noticed that when I get into “the zone” is precisely when I’m enjoying the actual process & it’s the Best Feeling Ever. Those are the moments when time seems to fade & I can look at my work & can say,

Promoting my friends JDC and Os.Hoshi’s works that will be presenting at the OMNI EXPO 2015 at Rosen Center Hotel in Orlando, FL USA; from May 22 till May 24 2015.

There will be prints, stickers, charms and they will be taking commissions; they do a lot of variety from anime to anthro, to video games and portraits. They won’t do Mecha.
