Okay more AU drawings for @starry-blue-echoes jjba AUs, this time Beastars!
I know Jolyne has been established as a butterfly/octopus hybrid, with some bat as well I think? But may I instead suggest: moth. A silk moth specifically, which I think fits her better than bat personally. Though, even if not, then because of the butterfly aspect that implies that when she was a kid she was a caterpillar, which is very fun to think about. Though it also means that she was a cocoon for a bit. Iâm thinking anywhere between a few weeks and a few months, which would probably be sucky for school attendance, depending on when and how long sheâs are cocoon for. One thing I know though is that Jotaro would drop everything heâs doing and just spend all day and night with her, heck, maybe even Holly comes by to stay with her. Theyâre a bit worried that her cocoon is not only underwater but also upside down, hanging onto the floor of the river/lake sheâs in, but they trust her instincts cause, well, thereâs not much else for them to do now
Iâve definitely been thinking about p5 stuff though, because Giorno accidentally becoming the Bucci gangâs pet is SO much fun to think about. Like, would they try to find his âownerâ? Would they even want to, seeing the scars on the beasts form? What would they name him? Giorno certainly canât say himself. How do they figure out this foxbeeladybug thing has a stand? Do they assume that the mix of features is part of the stand? It would make sense, GE is able to give life, why not it make this fox part bug(s)? Etc. etc.
The most important question probably is, what does Koichi think? I mean, Giorno transforms after his encounter with Luca, which would mean itâs before he meets Bruno, before he and Koichi fight Black Sabbath, so imagine this: Koichi is exploring the area, probably using ACT 1 to scout the area, and eventually he finds his bag and right next to it are the same clothes that one Giorno Giovanna was wearing when they met. Inspecting the clothes further, thereâs a few drops of blood near the collar. A head injury maybe? He ends up following the trail of blood, only for it to stop suddenly, he was probably picked up by someone. What should he do now? He should probably call Jotaro-san
Anyway, I think that Koichi following behind them could lead to a lot of fun adventures and AU crossovers!
But yeah, Beastars is such a fun AU! I hope you like my doodles and thoughts, if you see this!

Star Swap is so hyped for me!!! cuz Jotaro just has to go through his trauma! Jotaro gets to uncover what happened! Protect his past self! He has to inform his past self that things are going to go well In the past his mom was going to be okay and nobody (Important Dio get fucked) dies. But also things are going to go bad because that brat that past him is currently inhabiting right now. Will make everyone in the past freak out so bad because he didn't write down a single thing explaining anything.Â
SO RUDE JOSUKE! and low-key life-ruining.
I know you said in general that Jotaro Is going to have a thing with electricity and Loud Noises (which I think are Kira's bombs I'm pretty sure) I also think *Click is just going to Immediately alert him. But I would also like to add RATS.
Because I can't get over the fact that two Jotaros with their same Stands are going to be facing off with two rats with their same stands and our two Jotaros are going to get CLAPPED. Those rats were INSANE.
Anytime Adult man Jotaro nearly gets killed
The teenager Jotaroâs brain: FREAKS OUT
I think the main issue here is that Jotaro has no actual context so Jotaro looks at a radio tower âI have emotions towards this And have no idea why and that's a problem.â I also feel like he's probably going to be Vigilant toward any unexplainable feelings that seem to emanate from that memory Gap so those Feelings just kind of get Amplified until he gets an explanation.
Having said that, I do believe that it is quite possible for our adult man Jotaro to ping Yoshikage Kira Before he does anything in front of anyone. Passing each other on the road but only once.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS yesyesyesyesyesyes
GOD this is all so delicious I barely know where to start
I didn't even think about just how much the mystery of Jotaro's "past" is going to tie into all this. Part 4 really is just a mass of mysteries and uncovering so many decade old secrets, and now some of the secrets have become personal
(Also uh. Before we get into things, clarifying nicknames are likely in order <3 let's just keep it simple and easy, Jojo is the teen and Jotaro is the adult)
but just. Gods can you imagine the pure chaos when Jotaro and Jojo meet for the first time. Jojo of course realized what was going on first, after all Jotaro's style.... really hasn't changed much. Not to mention the subtle shift in the air when the other man used his Stand
and of course, when Jotaro realizes he gets thrown for a loop. He came here to check up on his father's illegitimate child and do some poking around for the arrows. Now he's suddenly being nailed in the face with the past that's eluded him for years
it's going to be a MASSIVE relief for Jojo to hear, even if he doesn't express it fully. That mom is safe, that everything turns out okay.
He is however, equally as frustrated by Jotaro's lack of clarity in his memories and starts planning out a very aggressive note to leave behind when they finally switch back
and YESSSSSSSSSS with the clicking noise and rat thing, that's absolutely perfect. Especially with the rat thing since well. They move :)
and the worst part of it all, the electricity and explosions and clicks and rats, is Jotaro doesn't know why. All he knows is that this is a danger to him, that it is life threatening and pain causing and he needs to get away
(and speaking of Bug Eaten, Tonio is going to be getting a L O T more visits than in canon on account of the whole..... Being The Only Healer In This Entire Stand Ridden Town)
I LOVE the concept of Jotaro getting vague feelings of events to come. Because his memories aren't fully gone per say, they exist and are present but they're hazy and muddled and unclear. And yet, with every day he spends in Morioh, every adventure he hears the kids have gone through and every adventure he gets roped into as well, they become clear
But rarely do the warning systems help. At least, not in any way that truly helps. After all, Fate and the Future has already been decided. every action has already been taken, every fate known, every thing unavoidable. This is not a second chance at the life Jotaro had lived, it was Jojo's first chance
that's the most taunting part of these feelings. How vague and muddled and fuzzy they are. A feeling of deja vu can mean a new ally or a hated enemy and he can't differentiate the two
when he eventually realises this, Jotaro shifts his energy to something he can do, and that's training the kids. He came back to his own time a competent fighter and with the ability to stop time, so dammit he knows he can at least try
...........wait a moment I had
a FUN idea to play with regarding the time stop
so. Given the fact Jotaro learned it essentially via a slight paradox, there would be no relation to Dio at all. There wouldn't be any baggage or trauma attached to it at all
at least...... not with Jotaro that is :)
the other Crusaders? Who fought and nearly died against such an ability? That's an entirely different ball park :)))
plus, it could also lead to some fun angst in terms of "Theories Of Where Jotaro Was" now including captured and possibly trained by Dio which wasn't a fun thought for anybody involved
Hey would you be interested in the idea of Pucci and Weather being swapped? As in the mother took Enrico instead of Domenico.
đđđđđđđ
that's honestly a really interesting idea because of how much and how little it might change things because like. This does bring into question how their interests and desires would change what they do and want, not to mention how there were some aspects of the situation that were specific to them
For example, would Pucci still want be a priest? And if he did, would he still end up hearing his "mother" confess her sins in the confessional booth? Would he even take interest in Perla???
And Domenico? What about him? Off the top of my head I can't think of any way to learn the truth of Pucci's relationship, so would he even learn at all? Not to mention, Domenico's style is more to confront things outright, so the racist detective agency likely wouldn't even get involved
Honestly, the only thing that stays somewhat intact is Pucci meeting with Dio and obtaining the Arrow, which leads me to how I think the AU will go
simply put, there is no tragedy. Pucci never crosses paths with Perla and Domenico never learns of Pucci's relation to him.......
or at least at first
let's say Pucci ends up accidentally cuts himself on the arrow one day. After all, he did keep it in his pocket unwrapped, it was only a matter of time for him to accidentally cut himself. He falls ill temporaily, but after a few hours ends up bouncing back and now with the addition of a weird spirit buddy who only he can see
however, unbeknownst to him across town Domenico collapsed at the exact same time, burning up from a fever, and was seemingly miraculously healed hours later also with a weird spirit buddy
and well....... Stand Users are attracted to each other after all
it starts as little things. Passing eachother in the street, going to the same diners at the same times, so on so forth, and it was honestly only a matter of time before it was revealed they both had Stands. Their "friendship" was definitly one that sparked out of nessecity rather then actually having anything in common, but with the both of them desperate for anyone who could prove they weren't crazy, they took it
and honestly, I can see their friendship being more "frenemies" in the begining. They don't hate eachother, but they didn't quite get along. Maybe for some fun :) something that really starts to bring them together is meeting another Stand User who has...... less that pure intentions and almost killed them, and they had to work together to fight them off? But yeah after that, their friendship becomes more..... solid, so to speak
the truth of their relationship is going to be a fun reveal, especially since I doubt Pucci's mother would forget the name of the family whom she stole a whole ass child from, so learning Pucci and the family's remaining son had become close friends? That's going to stress her out immensely, and it does raise the question of whether she tells Pucci vs Pucci finding out
I'll admit, I'm not fully sure how Dio falls into things here. Maybe if things go the route of Pucci Finding Out, it could lead to him running away from home and seeking out Dio? But that might be a bit too much of a reaction, so maybe some added layer of tragedy happens ontop of the reveal too
however, the why and how aside, Domenico is 100% chasing after him, he's not going to let his Bestie go off all by himself
The woman who stole Weather was canonically dying if I remember correctly. What if Pucci went to do some kind of DNA test to see if there was a chance he could catch the same illness?
But surprise, surprise, he is not a genetic match for his mother at all, which confuses the hell out of him. On top of that, the doctor says he is instead a genetic match for Domencio, since twins have the exact same DNA.
And Pucci wouldâve probably heard by now that Domencio had a twin brother who died at birth. So naturally this is incredibly confusing and suspicious.
Maybe Pucci confronts his mother on her deathbed but she refuses to confess out of sheer guilt over her actions. Maybe she admits what she did but dies before she can explain her reasoning and her regret.
Naturally Pucci would be devastated. This woman who raised him, stole him, let another family go through the grief she had experienced for a few brief moments. Why would anyone want to inflict that pain?
This is what causes him to run off and look to Dio for answers and Domencio, learning that Pucci is his brother either because the doctor called the family to tell them his suspicions or because Pucci rambled it at him before announcing his departure, follows without hesitation.
Maybe Perla comes too, wanting to get to know the brother that was taken before she could ever meet him
OOOOOOOOOO I FORGOT THAT'S WHY THE MOM WENT TO THE CONFESSIONAL, THAT'S ACTUALLY GONNA BE SUPER USEFUL
Oh I can absolutely see that happening. They'd been mailed the testing results and it was pure chance that led to Pucci reading it first, and it shakes him to his very core
however, I don't think who Pucci was actually related to would be in the initial results. The result? Pucci stewing in this and trying to figure out what the hell this could mean for possible weeks since..... well, we saw from canon, Pucci tends to try and handle things himself from behind the scenes to avoid hurting others
and just...... Pucci slowly investigating and putting together the pieces. His knee jerk reaction was to just waving it off as adoption. It couldn't be that his mom cheated because the results said there was zero biological relation, so maybe she just hid the fact he was adopted? But no matter how much he turns the house upside down, even using Whitesnake to get into the walls and under the floor, he couldn't find any adoption certificates
so he expands his search. Starts considering..... other possibilities. Less documented, less legal possibilities
it was a complete accident he began connecting things to Domenico. Nothing more than a joke between the two because of their shared birthday and hospital, a "oh haha, imagine if I was his supposedly dead twin, how soap opera would that be" comment they'd laugh about
but then Pucci thinks about it for a bit too long. They were born barely a few minutes apart in the same hospital only a few rooms down from each other. Dom had made a few comments about how similar Pucci looked to his own father. How the two of them got their Stands at the exact same time. Pucci's mother's strange discomfort around the Pucci Family
it felt circumstancial. Like the only reason the pieces were fitting together was because that's how he was looking at it
he doesn't believe it, doesn't want to believe it, doesn't want to think his mother would do something so cruel like stealing a baby and replacing it with a dead one
so he asked her on a whim one night, justifying it to himself as confirming this theory is nothing more than stretching the facts to fit and paranoid delusion so he can go back to the drawing board with a fresh start
but that doesn't happen. His mom doesn't laugh it off. Doesn't look at him like he's crazy
Instead she freezes and looks at him with fear in her eyes and that was more than enough confirmation
they fight. It's loud and emotionally charged and above all things desperate as both sides realize the other is slippng through their grasp. But the both of them are stubborn and don't back down and ultimatley becomes their undoing. Pucci refuses to let this be swept under the rug while his mother desperately tries to keep an exposed secret hidden
eventually Pucci leaves. He bolts from the house like a bat out of hell and for a moment ponders going to Domenico, before deciding against it
then he remembers the strange blonde man who first gave him the arrow
also in regards to Perla and Dom, I had a Thought, specificially tying into Pucci's mom's illness. What if sometime after he disappears, she ends up passing but in her will is the secret she's been shouldering for so long, and naturally the Pucci's are told about it. Dom connects the dots and figures that since it's been confirmed Pucci left by his own violition (you never knew with Stands after all) the only place he could've gone was to the weird blone guy who gave him arrow in the first place
Oh No I Thought Of A Thing. Normally a sibling connection wouldn't be enough to trigger getting a stand, not without Twin Shenanigans. But two siblings, that might be enough for a small spark, though not enough for one without will to get a stand. But if one gets that will
I might even be writing a thing hold on. (Also Perla gave Domenico the nickname Dom because I am not typing out Domenico 10+ times. Also also I'm calling Pucci Wes because honestly I have no idea what else to call him since Pucci would be right out.)
It started slow, sometime after Domenico's illness had lifted. Perla would occasionally go through hot or cold flashes without any rhyme or reason. They're always brief, but her parents are worried that she might be coming down with whatever illness Dom had.
That alone would have been odd, if not for the fact that whenever she got those flashes when Dom was around, the air would immediately grow warm or chill, seemingly to help regulate her temperature. It was only ever when Dom was around, but he seemed to be a bit cagey when she brought it up.
Before, if he was hiding something from her, he'd at least tell her so. But he didn't follow up on her questions so she let it be.
-
Her hot and cold flashes didn't fade over time. If anything, they got more frequent. But she was more used to them now. She hardly told anyone anymore. That new friend of Dom's didn't even notice until she'd mentioned it offhand.
And Wes was Dom's friend, even if they seemed to get on each other's nerves at. It made Perla happy to see them get along.
Even if it meant the brother she thought she knew was getting further and further away from her.
-
Perla was having flashes at least once every day now. She didn't say anything. She didn't want her family to worry, like they had worried when she'd first gotten those flashes, like they had over Dom.
Wes wasn't stopping by as often. Apparently, his mother was rather ill, so he was spending more and more of his time making sure she was cared for. That made some sense, but it didn't explain why she'd spotted him frantically looking through books at the library one day.
Dom spent more time with her, but she knew that it was just because Wes wasn't available. She'd overheard them talking one time, and she recognized Dom's tone as the one he had around her, back before his illness. He talked about meteorology, and Perla wondered when that had happened. He'd never shown any interest in that before.
He'd have told her, before.
Before.
-
Perla had a hot flash a few days after Wes disappeared, while she was eating breakfast with her family. The air didn't chill a bit.
Ironically, that was how she realized that Dom had been behind those comforting shifts. Before Wes disappeared, he'd always had at least half an eye on her. She wasn't sure how, but he must have been doing something to change the temperature to make her more comfortable.
Now, with Wes gone, all Dom could do was stare at his food as he picked at it.
-
A few days ago, her illness had gotten worse. No longer was it just hot and cold flashes, now it felt like something was draining her energy, demanding more than she could give. She put on a brave face, of course, but she wasn't sure how much longer she could.
Then Ms. Bluemarine died, and the lawyer knocked on the Pucci family door.
Some part of her wanted to say it all made sense. Of course Dom and Wes found each other, of course they got along so well, they were fated to find each other again. But she shook that thought off. If that was the case, why hadn't they met far earlier? No, it was whatever had changed about Dom after his illness. It had to be.
Which meant that something had happened. And she was tired of not knowing. Not knowing what Dom was hiding, not knowing what was wrong with her, not knowing that she had a whole other brother, alive-
And before she could confront Dom, he was gone. Off to chase down some mystery man Wes had mentioned.
Well, she was done being left behind. Tired of seeing Dom drift away and not knowing why. Tired of waiting for things to maybe get better.
It took a few days to prepare, but soon enough, she'd said her goodbyes, steeled her will, and set off. To bring her brother... no, her brothers back home.
(It wouldn't be until later, after meeting a tycoon and a fortune teller, that she realized that during all of her days of preparations, she hadn't felt a hot or cold flash even once. It would be later still before she realized why.)
-
Honestly I have no idea how much this may or may not fit in but Perla deserves to be a badass. At least once.
oh my god y e s. I absolutely adore the idea of Perla knowing Something is up, that realizing her brother and his best friend have some kind of secret, and I'm even MORE obsessed with the implications of Perla joining the Crusaders đđđ
I found this old snippet 90% finished in my drafts so W O E, 2k words of Tonio being my favorite character and Mr.Giovanna slowly understanding that he is not in fact Giogio's father anymore <333
(also tw for implied/referenced child abuse since Giorno)
-------------
Tonio noticed the second the man approached Giornoâs table.
His customers knew better than to do so. They knew the boy was under his personal protection and it was best to steer clear. A greeting hello when the boy arrived, a brief exchange of conversation, an offered treat or trinket was of course allowed, but approaching his booth while Tonio was not present?
That was not common.
In fact, by the time Tonio made it out of the kitchen and to the dining area, the man had gathered quite a bit of attention from the other customers if the glances being cast his way were anything to go by.
The man was practically looming over Giornoâs booth, all but boxing the boy into his seat and talking in a low voice so as to not be overheard. Tonio couldnât even see Giorno from his spot.
Tonio did not like this.
He did not like this one bit.
So plastering on his best Customer Service Smile, he approached.
âExcuse me sir,â he spoke up, keeping his voice light and pleasant. âMy apologies, but at this establishment you must wait to be seated.â
The man turned to face him, not moving away from the booth and instead attempting to slide a softer, kinder mask over his features.
Hm.
It was sloppy, Tonio couldn't help but note. Sure the facial expressions were⌠passable, he supposed, but his body language was all wrong. Maybe spending so much time amongst the real dangers in Italy had made him a bit of a snob, but honestly this was laughable.
âAh, you misunderstand sir, Iâm not here to eat, though I have heard good things about this restaurant.â the man waved him off with what was supposed to be a lighthearted chuckle that only succeeded in feeling patronizing. âIâm here to pick up my son.â
âOh?â Tonio responded with a slit tilt of the head, and a cold, cold feeling slipped into his gut. âYouâre this boyâs father then? I wouldnât have guessed.â
âStep father, technically.â Mr.Giovanna explained, the veiled insult sailing clear over his head. âHis mother already had him when I stepped into the picture, but I see and love him as my own.â
His smile got tighter when he saw Giorno, kind, smart, shy Giorno who loved frogs and ladybugs and the color pink and listening to Tonio talk about recipes, flinch.
âI see.â was all he offered.
Tonio knew so little. So, so little. Part of him knew it was purposeful. That he was giving himself plausible deniability. An empty comfort.
But he knew enough. Heâd always known enough. More than enough really.
And now it was looking him dead in the eyes and spitting in his face, daring him to lie down and take it.
âWell, itâs getting late. Weâd best be getting back to the house before your mother starts dinner. Come along, Giorno, youâve taken up enough of this manâs time.âÂ
How long has he been standing idly by as heâd seen Giorno hurt?Â
How many times has he knowingly allowed Giorno to return to that sorry excuse of a family?Â
How many times has he merely nursed his injuries instead of doing anything to stop them from happening in the first place?
Well no longer.
âActually, sir.â he interrupted. âI have someâŚ. concerns Iâd like to speak with you about.â
The man froze before slowly turning toward him.
There was a dangerous glint in his eyes and he not very subtly squared his shoulders to make himself look bigger.
âOh?â
How funny. The man thought he was intimidating.
Tonio had done a bit of asking around about Giornoâs family when the boy hadn't been present. Nothing too nosey of course, just the standard gossip that was floating around which he generally got quite a lot of.Â
And the results of his findings were quite fruitful.
Mr.Giovanna had a temper and was somewhat quick to anger, and heâd had a few dealings with the underworld, but that was as all. The man wasn't anyone important nor did he have any connections whatsoever.
He was just a simple, ordinary, powerless man.
A man who in the long run wouldnât be able to do a thing to Tonio.
Tonio did not normally like taking advantage of his position, of the power he had at his fingertips. The near crippling fear of entrenching himself further and further into this world always had held him at bay, but in this moment he was more than willing to make an exception for this.
âYes.â he made a slight show of stepping slightly closer to Mr.Giovanna and the booth seat, closer than was socially acceptable and a clear challenge to the manâs current proximity to Giorno. âAnd in all honesty, Iâm not quite certain I feel comfortable allowing you to leave with this boy.â
âAnd for what reasons would that be?â Mr.Giovanna was openly glaring at him now, trying and failing to loom over a man who had a few centimeters on him.
âI notice things, Mr.Giovanna.â Tonio spoke, keeping his words clipped and flat lest his rage bubble over. âGiorno has been a patron in my restaurant for well over a year now, and I am not nearly as blind or stupid as you appear to think of me. I may be a chef, but I am also very familiar with the practices of medicine and the healing processes of the human body.â
Sometimes Tonio loathed this skill of his. Of seeing the way people moved and being able to pinpoint exactly what was wrong, of seeing the lethargy and careful movements and stiffness and knowing of the presence of bruises or cigarette burns or broken skin.
(In a bitterly comforting way, Giorno had always liked that part of him. Of their shared skill. He said it made him feel less alone and less strange)
Mr.Giovanna simply sneered at him. âAnd why exactly are you paying so much attention to little boys?â
His rage surged at the accusation, howling and throwing itself against the cage heâd locked it inside, only made worse by the manâs smugness as though heâd just won and Tonio would back down.
Oh how he longed for his butcherâs knives. They cut through skin and muscle like warm butter and would so easily make short work of the man before him.
âYou know very well that is not what Iâm talking about.â much to his dismay, his calm mask had begun to crack at the edges, his voice growing more tense and taught with every prolonged moment. This man was managing to slide through every crack of his carefully constructed walls in ways the most vile, loathsome mafioso couldnât, and all with hardly more than a few words.
This needed to end soon. Before Tonio did something he would regret. For Giornoâs sake.
âI am not going to allow you to leave this establishment with this child unless you can offer me a reasonable explanation for why he comes here with bruises every single week, and that is final.âÂ
A lie of course, he wasnât letting Giorno go anywhere with this pathetic excuse of a father, no matter what excuses he scrounged up.
âWell I donât owe you shit.â he snapped back, forgoing excuses and even denial of the accusations completely. At the very least, it seemed Tonio was getting under Mr.Giovannaâs skin just as badly. âI am going to be taking my son and we are going to leave. Giorno, come here right n-â but as the man tried to move Tonio out of the way and make a grab for the boy, Tonio grabbed his arm in an ironclad grip.
The man froze, surprised either by the strength or by the audacity.
Tonioâs expression didnât falter.
âI think it would be best for you to leave, sir.â
For a second all was calm.
And in the next, pure fury overtook the manâs face.
The punch was quick and powerful, and Tonio barely had a moment to realize what was happening before he had both hands on the booth table to support his weight with a blooming pain in his jaw. With one of his hands he hesitantly brought it up to test the area, but while it would undoubtedly bruise and was rather tender, nothing felt broken or severely damaged.
Tonio should have seen the punch coming, but alas, hindsight is 20/20. He partially expected a second blowâŚ. but it never came.
In fact, Mr.Giovanna was being awfully quiet.
His grin which had temporarily been chased from his face found itself sliding back into place once more.
It seemed the man finally noticed. Now that their conversation had reached a small pausing point, it was likely that much more obvious, but Tonio still couldnât help but internally chuckle at the manâs horrendous observation skills.
It was dead silent in the restaurant.
The clicking of silverware, the murmur of conversation, the footsteps of the waitstaff, all of it had vanished into thin air.
And as Tonio stood back up to his full height, one merely needed to glance around the room to see why.
Every single customer and staff member was staring at them.
And not one was happy.
Expressions ranged from murderous fury to offended disgust to cold disapproval. Weapons of all types were in hand: knives, firearms, utensils, even a few Stands had joined the fray.
Sometimes being neutral felt like a curse, but in this moment? In this moment Tonio had never felt freer.
Because everyone respected the rules inside Trattoria Trussardi.
And those who didnâtâŚâŚ
âYouâve broken the rules, Mr.Giovanna.â Tonio spoke, a grin still on his face. Only now he let the pleasantries fade away. Now, he let his grin stretch wide and manic, filled with teeth and not quite reaching his eyes.
To an outsider, it was downright predatory.
And Mr.Giovanna, finally realizing the lionâs den he had stumbled headfirst into, froze.
But Tonio did not care.
Not one bit.
He nudged the man to the side with the back of his hand, and didnât even resist the urge to wipe it on his apron afterwards. Heâd need to wash his hands later, wouldnât want the food suffering from whatever filth that man possessed.
âGiorno,â he asked quietly, his body relaxing and growing soft at the bright, vibrant hope sparkling in the boyâs eyes. âWould you like to join me for dinner?â
Giornoâs eyes widened, growing glossy and shiny yet not a single tear spilt.
âI would.â he said in a hushed whisper, as though the words would break if he was too rough with them, and in Tonioâs heart the only regret he felt was that he hadnât done this sooner.
He gently grabbed Giornoâs hand to tug him away from the booth seat with as much gentleness as he could, leading him toward the back door that led to the stairs up to his apartment. Giornoâs hand was so small, yet it clung to Tonioâs like a lifeline.
He would call Doppio later tonight to help with the paperwork, of course after Giorno had eaten and gone to sleep. He had more than enough spare funds for the shopping trip that would be required tomorrow, but it would also likely be best to ask if there was anything Giorno wanted from his now-ex-parents house. Heâd likely have to rearrange some furniture upstairs, Giorno would need his own room obviously, maybe cash in a favor or two to help, and of course possibly transferring schools which meant even more paperwork-
But that was tomorrow. Tonight, he got to look forward to a nice, calm dinner that for the first time since inviting Doppio in wouldnât be alone.Â
And just as he nudged Giorno through the doorâŚ
âMarco.â
âYeah Boss?â
Tonio liked Marco. A good head on his shoulders, a competent host and waiter, had potential for a manager position, always called in ahead of time if gang work interfered with his schedule, and on the rare occasion things got out of hand he was good at regaining order.
âIâm temporarily waiving the âno violenceâ rule.â Tonio said. âMake sure nobody breaks anything important and if things get too noisy, see to it that itâs moved elsewhere.â
Marcoâs eyes lit up with an emotion he didnât dare to place, but his face remained stoic. ââCourse, Boss.â
Tonio looked back to the restaurant, his eyes soft and smile warm in a way that did not match the manic and horrifying implication of his words in the slightest.
âYou have 30 minutes. Try to keep the mess to a minimum.â
