They’re opening a new dining option called SUPER FAMILY RESTAURANT at the Nintendo Museum fall of this year! Seems like a big step up from the current burger place, although I did enjoy the small details in it.

it's interesting the comparisons between pokopia and animal crossing and I'm not sure I can like,, fully articulate what I'm thinking properly but like

"pokopia is better than animal crossing" honestly, if you're specifically talking about NH I think I gotta agree, but if you're talking about the older games, I don't think you can really compare the two

pokopia is a game of distractions, clearing your mind by filling it with an endless series of tasks instead. animal crossing, historically, was more a game for clearing your mind by slowing you down and letting it be quiet in there for a while. meditation vs keeping you busy.

new horizons' game play makes you want to play it as a game that keeps your mind busy, but it still has features from older games that are designed to force you to slow down and relax. pokopia makes it more obvious how at odds those two things are because pokopia does "keeping you busy" SO WELL, and older games like new leaf does "forcing you to slow down and relax" SO WELL, it makes it clear that new horizons isn't fully doing either

I haven’t played Pokopia yet (no SW2) but I really resonate with this AC analysis.

ACNH tried to add the task driven aspects of many modern games, while still keeping elements of old AC which do not mesh well together. My fear is that the will take out what has made the AC experience unique in the past and go further in that direction in the future.

I am almost naively hoping though that with the success of Pokopia, they will have that be their pillar title for that kind of gameplay and allow AC to be something more unique again, but I know that the odds of that are low.

just spent an hour of my adult life confirming beyond a shadow of a doubt that the little bunny PNG that shows up occasionally in the new Tomodachi Life IS in fact the exact same stock image they used in Badge Arcade on the 3DS, for that one gag where the Arcade Bunny briefly becomes a recoloured photorealistic rabbit.

i lined them up and attempted to recreate the Badge Arcade version's edits, and they're DEFINITELY the same bunny pic. the only parts that don't line up are its posture (its back was lowered to give a clearer head silhouette, since you can't see its lower half anyways) and its nose, which was very slightly raised in Badge Arcade (it's easier to see up close when you're flipping between the two, just trust me)

anyways. who the hell has been sitting on this incredibly specific bunny stock image for 12 years just waiting to use it for another joke. where ELSE did they sneak it into stuff in the past decade that i just didn't hear about. how do i learn that level of commitment to the bit.

Just learned Mii can scare the face off of another Mii in Tomodachi Life, and then they’ll run away scared!
