Other than that, I didn’t have headcanons written down, so I’ve spent 4 hours on this.
I present you:
My slimeknight headcanons because there are too many sad and terrible things in the world and I want them to be happy.
THERE ARE A LOT. I have pretty much put all of my brain worms into this
IRL headcanons:
* Even though Derek was incredibly smart and knowledgeable even before the King in Yellow cursed him with infinite knowledge, he was more into computer science (pretty sure it’s canon) and subjects related to it. Avery on the other side is more into biology and languages, and is also smart, yet not as fast as Derek.
* DEREK WAS a Minecraft nerd since he had started playing the game. (Which was when he was around 8 - 9 years old), even though he was mostly playing in creative. Avery was always playing in survival and THEN he discovered PvP.
* After the events of DAWTDE Avery had blacked out and didn’t remember anything when he woke up. But after turning on his laptop and seeing the Minecraft world he only remembered that Derek was in some kind of danger. So after basically doxxing him (since it was Derek’s old laptop) and finding out they had lived in the same city this whole time he quickly called an ambulance before rushing there himself. He managed to save Derek, but it was rather luck than anything else. Everything else came to him in a while and with the help of Wifies’ video.
* Derek was in a coma for five months before eventually waking up. He was in a critical condition. Incredibly underweight, with a severe head injury and worsened vision. It took him almost a year to recover even just a bit. With the help of Avery, of course.
* Avery’s condition had also worsened in the span of five months. His immune system became weak and he became susceptible to almost every sickness.
* Derek had known everything about Avery, but he didn’t fall for him instantly. Avery was actually the one to catch feelings first. Sure, Derek knew it the moment his friend admitted it to himself, yet it took him two months to understand that he feels the same way towards Avery. However his love was way more intense, since he could predict every single one of Avery’s actions, but watching every single one of the scenarios play out in front of him, with the real Avery, made him even more attracted to him.
* THEY HAVE MATCHING NECKLACES.
* The scars on Derek’s Minecraft skin are actually present on him in real life and while he himself thinks they’re ugly, Avery adores them (just as any other part of Derek). Although they’re way more red with just a bit of gold in them.
* Since Avery is knowledgeable about flowers and their biology as well as symbolism he creates A LOT of flower crowns for Derek. Some might say it’s his love language.
* Derlord suffers from C-PTSD
* Avery has a nagging fear of water, because he has been drowning himself persistently (in game but still) for 12 hours.
* Derek has a few close friends, while Avery is very social, but only a few people are considered friends by him.
* Avery is more muscular than Derek (even though he has lost some mass after Derek’s death. But he has recovered too!).
Minecraft skins headcanons:
So first of all I think it’s more of an au where they ARE ACTUALLY living characters and everything happens in Minecraft, just thought I’d clarify that.
SECOND OF ALL I’M GONNA YAP A LOT ABOUT ANATOMY SO PLEASE BEAR WITH ME IT’S MY FAVOURITE THING TO WRITE ABOUT WITH NON-HUMAN CHARACTERS.
* So in my art of them I wrote that Avery’s “skin” or outer layer can become less dense or even melt completely, but it can also become like really dense and hard. It usually happens in battles and in need of protecting his core.
* Scars can form on Avery, yet like I said earlier it only happens if his skin is dense, otherwise it wild mold to normal.
* Avery is way stronger than Derek, however the other one tends to be more intimidating, due to his appearance.
* The only way Derlord’s ‘void’ can get out of his skin is his mouth, the destroyed eye and open wounds. The void spreading isn’t a bad or dangerous thing (if it’s not a lot), but since it’s very sensitive it can either hurt or bring comfort. The only way Derek can die is if any of his body parts is cut off. Then the void will ‘escape’ and his skin is going to rot and decay.
* The destroyed or rotten eye is a part of KIY’s curse. While it’s closed the King is always a voice in his head. The King does not have power over his thoughts and mind, when his eye is forced open, but it takes lots of effort.
* The ‘void’ has a mind of its own, however it sometimes mirrors Derek’s wants and emotions. If he’s excited, overwhelmed or furious it’s more powerful and spreads wider, if he’s sad, embarrassed/flustered, scared or disgusted it curls into itself and doesn’t try to leave the body.
* One time the void had went past Avery’s skin, a bit into his base and the slime practically melted (from pleasure ofc). Derek has consciously continued to do this exact thing, but he would never admit it.
* Avery can mold his body shape, hair, face etc. The flower on his head is a bit melted into hair, so it’s basically a part of him. That’s why he gave Derek one too.
* Derlord has SHARP ASS teeth. Avery can change his too. They’re the most dense part of his body.
* Just realised they’re kinda like amoebas oh my gooddd.😭😭
* Avery can die, if he has way too much water in his system. He can also dry, if there’s not enough of it.
* Okay I guess that’s all about their anatomy I yap way too much omfg.
OKAY NOW NOT ANATOMY RELATED THINGS
* Avery teaches Derlord PvP and SOMETIMES he even beats the slime. Not often. EVEN THOUGH HE CAN PREDICT EVERY MOVE HE’S JUST BAD AT IT.
* Derek is German and calls Avery pet names like “Mein Prinz”, “Meine Liebe”, “Lieber”. And otherss.
