Rhaenyra is heading to the sept to demand her coronation. The high septon is not happy with weapons being brought into the sept. He calls Rhaenyra Princess and says the gods have chosen Aegon as king. He refused her and she names him a traitor. He’s threatening her and Rhaenyra is urging Alyn on to kill the high septon since they are the blood of old Valyria. And he just killed him. Rhaenyra addresses the crowd with her small council and guards behind her. She reminds them about Viserys naming her as his heir with great ceremony and she invokes the prophecy.

Ormund is still looking for Ulf. Cat sees the people of the town being put on the wall. Daemon is leading the vanguard of the Tully’s and winter wolves.

What was that look between Orwyle and Torrhen?

Mysaria is in the crowd.

Daemon is giving his battle speech to the men.

“Show no mercy. Give no quarter. I don’t want the best of you, I want the worst.”

Roddy and the wolves are up first.

Those poor kids are huddling behind the wall crying and being sick.

The Hightowers are getting ready to fight.

Roddy is egging them on and makes his charge with the winter wolves.

Roxton tells Ormund that Ulf has fled. A messenger brings Ormund word of Daeron’s peace plan. He’s not happy. Gwayne rushes in to look for Daeron before the walls are breeched.

Daemon sends Oscar forth next. Roddy is first up the ladder. He’s killing the Hightowers with his axe. They laid a trail of oil and set it on fire outside the wall. Daemon is getting word that Ulf and Silverwing are awol. Oh Black Aly is good at archery on horseback too. Roxton has met Roddy.

Hugh has arrived and Daemon is pissed he’s not at Kingslanding. Daemon is getting ready to make his charge and calls Caraxes. They’re firing on Daemon and Caraxes but his fire reached the wall. He’s trying to shoo the kids out of the way so he can burn the gate down.

Caraxes is through the gate. Hugh is running into the town on foot. Now Daemon charged though on horseback but is on foot now, in the thick of the fighting. Roddy killed a Roxton and wants the rest of the Hightowers. Ulf is passed out drunk on the toilet. Ormund found him and is kicking and hitting him. Now Ulf knows what he really thinks of him.

Daemon is calling for Ormund. Hugh is trying to find his wife. Daemon is fighting Jon Roxton. Ulf is going to his dragon.

Gwayne finds Daeron with Tessarion and tries to convince him to escape instead of fighting. Gwayne says he’ll have to go through him if he wants to leave. Ulf sets his dragon on Daemon’s army. Corlys runs for cover. Daeron and Gwayne are on the battlements. They think Ulf may be their salvation.

The fight isn’t going well for Daemon. Roddy has found Ormund. Come on! He smashed his face in with his shield but Ormund cut his arm off. Roddy got him anyway “that’s a proper fucking, from the north.” Ulf sets Ormund on fire too. He’s just burning everyone in sight. The carnage separates Daemon and Jon. He sees Silverwing burning the town. Daemon sees the dead and the dying wandering the streets. He looks devastated. He goes forward to continue fighting the Hightowers, cutting down their soldiers.

Corlys finds him and gets him to leave since Ulf betrayed them.

Helaena sits with her finished tapestry. She’s walking to the window.

Gwayne rises from the ashes looking for Daeron.

Jon Roxton found Ormund’s body. Hugh finds his wife dead. The dead and the wounded of Oscars army try to recover themselves.

Rhaenyra is back at the castle and Elinda calls out to her. She goes to Helaena’s room to see the window open.

Alicent is at a camp and a swarm of blue butterflies pass her.

Helaena is dead at the bottom of the dry moat outside her window.

The Hightowers are preparing for battle at Tumbleton. Ormund is putting children on the wall. Ulf has went awol. Gwayne thinks they’re all going to die. Daeron knows something is up with Ormund’s scheme. Daeron wants to fly his dragon into battle. Gwayne doesn’t want him to die pointlessly like Criston. He thinks there may be a third option instead of flight or fight.

Daemon arrives on Caraxes.

Gwayne and Daeron are there to see Corlys to try and get him to turn cloak for them.

Mysaria is on her cart on the way out of the city but slips away in the tumult since there are no good cloaks.

Rhaenyra sees the graffiti on the walls and tells the prophecy to Joffrey as he is her heir now.

Daemon is ahorse and meets Roddy and Oscar. Gwayne is there with Corlys for a treaty with Daemon. Roddy wants to kill Gwayne. Gwayne is giving Corlys over for peace talks in the name of Daeron. He wants to divide the seven kingdoms and let Daeron rule the reach from Oldtown. Corlys is inclined to agree with Gwayne but with the caveat that Daeron be wed to Rhaena and rule as Lord paramount of the reach. Daemon tells them about Aegon being alive. Corlys wants peace, Daemon wants to fight. He is choking Gwayne and telling them that Rhaenyra will rule as Queen. Corlys is his prisoner and Gwayne is sent back to the town. The fight is on.

Aemond is walking through Harrenhal and hears a dragon. It’s Aegon on Sunfyre, they’ve landed in the great hall. Aemond goes to his knees thinking he’s seeing a ghost. Aegon slaps him “I’m alive. Imbecile.” He begs forgiveness and Aegon laughs. He says he should have his dragon burn him and calls him a kinslayer, usurper and a cunt. Aegon is annoyed that Aemond won’t fight back and is actually remorseful. He won’t kill him cos that’s what Aemond wants. Alys is there and Aemond introduces her as his betrothed. Aegon wants them to go to Tumbleton. Aegon knows all that’s been going on. He wants Aemond and Vhagar to go with him to Tumbleton and then on to Kingslanding. He might forgive him when all his enemies are dead.

Orwyle has a message for the queen in the dead of night. She comes to see Daemon with the news that Aegon and Sunfyre have returned, burned the Mootons and flew off. She’s hysterical. The smallfolk are supporting the “resurrected” king. Daemon is comforting and reassuring her. She’s cursing Viserys. He tells her to show strength now. She’s finally making moves and is sending Daemon to take Tumbleton and kill all the Hightowers. Baela wants to know if there is a rescue being made for Corlys and she wants to go. Oh Baela is blaming Rhaenyra for Corlys being taken. She’s calling her out for her ill treatment of Rhaena and Corlys as well as her and Addam. That was tense.

Alyn is greeting the Valyrians. They want to rescue Corlys but Alyn is telling them the Queen wants them in the city. He introduces himself as heir to the tides.

The army is assembled at Tumbleton and Ormund has received a raven no doubt about Aegon. He’s knighting Daeron. The Hightowers are getting ready for a siege. “Rise a knight, Ser Daeron the Daring.”

Drunken traitor Ulf is slagging Rhaenyra off to the servants in Tumbleton. That idiot thinks too highly of himself.

Elinda is bringing word of Helaena to Rhaenyra, she’s refusing to eat again. Rhaenyra is getting Addam to prepare an escort for her coronation. The guards are taking Mysaria’s stuff, she is being dismissed and sent to Pentos. Elinda is baffled by this.

Helaena is being brought back to her room and sees the white horse with the cart from her dream. She passes Mysaria on the way in and she tells her to beware Rhaenyra and that Aegon is alive with his dragon.

Aemond is dreaming about Aegon again, Alys saved him from the poison. He’s distraught about Alicent trying to kill him. Alys uses this to try and win Aemond over. He believes he killed Aegon and he’s a cursed kinslayer. Alys is saying one of Harren the blacks sons survived and his mother used black magic to save him but he died anyway. Oh she was the mother and made herself immortal trying to save her son. Aemond comforts her with a kiss.

Rhaenyra has come to see Helaena and tries to get her to eat. Helaena let slip she’s carrying a boy. Rhaenyra says she would never hurt her. Helaena says Viserys would hate her but Rhaenyra says he did nothing to prevent this. Rhaenyra is puzzled by Helaena’s riddle speech. Helaena is seeing through the courtesy and calls Rhaenyra and all the things she cares about ugly. Oh she’s getting the guards to force feed her.

Rhaenyra is back at the dragon pit with Rhaena and Addam “find her a room. I do not wish to see her.”

Alicent is talking to Aemond about Alys, saying she doesn’t want to disturb their arrangement. She’s handing him a cup of wine (is it poison?). She asks him who he trusts and he confesses he tried to kill Aegon. She says she knew.

Rhaenyra is back in her room. Daemon has come to see her and she tells her handmaiden to stay. He tells her Rhaena begged him not to tell her and he only wanted to protect her. Rhaenyra is like “what did you think I would do to your daughter?” He’s trying to get close to her but she sends him away.

Baela is reunited with her twin. Rhaena apologised about Jace. Baela comforts her and hugs her.

Alyn is back from patrol and receives a box with Corlys’s finger.

Aemond stumbles into Alys’s room in a daze. “Idiot” Alicent poisoned him and is trying to escape.

Helaena is dreaming she’s giving birth and her baby is taken by Kingsguard knights. Now she’s on Dreamfyre and burning people. Oh she’s dreaming she’s with her twins on a farm with chickens. Now day turns to night and there’s snow blowing in.

Rhaenyra can’t sleep, she throws the skull Daemon brought her into the fire. She’s talking to Mysaria and she’s still trying to turn her against Daemon. Rhaenyra is calling her out on her manipulations. She knows that doing things Viserys’s way has done nothing for her. Mysaria is sweet talking Rhaenyra and telling her everything she wants to hear. “Do you think I am worthy?” “I have never been more certain of it.” Mysaria kisses her and then Rhaenyra kisses her back.

Aegon is with Tyland round the fire. Tyland draws his sword for an oncoming fight. “A final stand, Ser Tyland.” The Mootons have arrived to claim the land for Rhaenyra. Aegon is panicking now. Aegon refuses to surrender. The soldier wants Tyland to tell him where the gold is. Aegon is announcing himself to all the men with his titles. They’re backing away in fear. But not from him. Sunfyre has awakened. “Sunfyre, dracarys.” It’s all over for those men. Aegon is all fired up now. He and Sunfyre have matching scars.

Aegon, Larys and Tyland are making their way to Maidenpool before leaving for Braavos. They see smallfolk running from an approaching Riverlands army. They have to head back to Rook’s Rest again.

Alicent is having dinner with Alys and Aemond. She’s weirded out by this relationship. “Aemond I still don’t understand who this woman is.” Aemond is staying at Harrenhal as his seat with Alys at his side. He wants to raise a new House Targaryen “a new line of unsullied kings.” Alys wants rid of Alicent but Aemond won’t let her leave. Alys is warning him of Alicent’s intentions. He won’t hear a word against his mother. “You Targaryen boys all want the same thing don’t you?”

Alicent is taking Ser Adrian’s dagger. Oh is she thinking of poisoning Aemond’s food?

Larys is getting info from Tangeltongue. The men at Rook’s Rest are looking Tyland to hand him over for ransom. Larys wants him to give himself up so he and Aegon can escape. Aegon is giving up, he doesn’t want to run and hide anymore. He wants to die as a king with his dragon at his side. Tyland is staying by his kings side, his sellswords have fled. Larys is gonna leave since he can’t fight and Aegon tells him to go. I think Aegon is a bit gutted to lose his companion.

Caraxes has found Sheepstealer. They force him to land. Dragons squaring off while angry Daemon confronts Rhaena, she still can’t control her dragon. Rhaena wants to find Vhagar to prove herself by killing her and earn back Rhaenyra’s favour. Daemon is willing to help her. He’s telling her about his lonely childhood and admits he should’ve done better by her. Uh oh Rhaenyra has arrived. He tells her to run. Addam is in pursuit of Rhaena. Rhaenyra is having it out with Daemon. The dragons are going wild. Addam has caught Rhaena. Rhaenyra is in shock. She’s raging that Daemon lied to her. Syrax is fighting Sheepstealer. Shit. Daemon and Caraxes are defending her. She tells Addam to help Daemon. Two against one. And Rhaenyra does a runner with Syrax and Rhaena. Daemon was gonna finish Sheepstealer but lost his seat and he got away. Caraxes is comforting Daemon. I think he’ll let Sheepstealer live.

Helaena is in the empty courtyard of the red Jeep with a house and cart. The gate opens and the morning sun greets her. She wakes up to Rhaenyra standing over her. She asks for words of Alicent, but there is none. She talks about her bond with Dreamfyre. She’s making another tapestry. This is the first time they’ve ever spoken. Rhaenyra tells her she thinks Helaena’s a Dreamer and wants to know what she’s seen. She’s pressing too much. Going a bit too far there Rhaenyra. Helaena clams up.

Aemond is practicing with his sword in Harrenhal but he’s still not at full strength. Oh Alicent is there already. She’s telling him she escaped but Helaena was taken captive. “How could I forsake my best and truest son?” She’s laying this on a bit thick. He asks about Aegon, she says he’s most likely dead. She says she failed him but he’s reassuring her. Eww she just kissed him. Oh fuck I hope this is a fucked up dream. Oh thank god it was just Alys trying to get impregnated by Aemond. The real Alicent has arrived.

Roddy the ruin has Criston’s head on a pike. The winter wolves and the river man have reached Tumbleton. Gwanye brings word to Ormund but he thinks he has a plan to outwit Rhaenyra.

Caraxes and Daemon are back in the Vale. He’s storming into the Eyrie looking for Rhaena. She lied to daemon saying Rhaena left when she sent word to him. He’s trying to find her and Jeyne gives him a lead on their location.

Baela and Addam are looking for Vhagar still. He’s asking Baela to intercede on their legitimacy with the Queen. He wants to be legitimate to marry Baela but she just let slip about her and Alyn getting it on last week.

Alicent is telling Aemond a story of her escape. He’s checking to make sure she’s real. She introduces him to “Ser Adrian” her protector. Aemond killed him after he shook his hand. He didn’t suspect an assassin but killed him anyway. Alys invites her for supper.

Corlys is dining with Ormund and Daeron. He wants to flip Corlys to his side. Daeron points out the obvious that the winter wolves are more a threat than starving Kingslanding by withholding Valaryian ships. Oh Corlys will get him for insulting Rhaenys. Daeron and Gwayne deplore Ormund’s madness. Daeron commiserates with his uncle about losing Cole. Gwayne tells him he could escape on his dragon but Daeron won’t abandon his uncle and men.

It was a really good film, more grounded and mature than the previous films to show how much Peter has grown now that he’s not a kid anymore. Lots of cool action scenes. I think Sadie Sink really stole the show as her version of Jean Grey, hope she shows up again. She wasn’t really the villain, the villain as usual is the shady government bureaucrat that wants their own personal super powered army and violates all laws and human rights to get what they want.

An interesting take on Jean, just mentioning she is a telepath but no one used descriptors like “enhanced” or “mutant” to classify what she is and then she unlocks her telekinesis when she has a surge of psychic power. I think if she and Peter could have a good sibling dynamic if they ever meet again. She really needed that hug and I think he did too after all the emotional trauma with MJ and Ned.

I liked Yelena’s cameos and Spider-Man’s working friendship with Detective DeWolff, it reminded me a bit of Spidey and Yuri from the PlayStation Spiderman game.

A couple of things that bugged me that were never addressed like how does Spiderman have Yelena’s phone number and they have an acquaintanceship where they just chat and swap intel? Did MJ’s memories get restored when Jean possessed half the city? Cos it looked that way when she was crying while they were all frozen then at the end she went to the school roof while wearing the broken black dahlia necklace Peter gave her in Far From Home. How did that asshole Metzger escape and no one can find him? Why did Banner get sent to a psychiatric hospital when the Hulk rampage wasn’t his fault and all he needs is to make a new inhibitor gauntlet?

At least we know “Spiderman Will Return.”

Hugh approaches a wagon coming out of Tumbleton and beats up the driver to sneak into the town. Baratheon men are entering too.

Ormund boring away with his speeches about how to be king. Do Daeron and Gwayne not know Otto is dead yet? He’s freaking out about the stench coming from the Baratheons. They say they’re there to swear fealty to the new king. Gwayne and Jon are suspicious. Gwayne strikes first and kills the assassins, Jon kills the rest. Gwayne knew they weren’t the real Baratheons. Eww Ormund threw up in the middle of his threats because the smell was too much for him.

Hugh meets up with his wife. She thought he was dead. She tells him about her brother being killed. He wants her to leave with him since he’s a knight and dragon rider now. More promises that she doesn’t believe he will keep. Sounds like she had a hard time getting from Kingslanding to Tumbleton. She refuses to leave her family and he tried to force her to come with him.

Daeron is sparring with squires. Ormund is apologetic with Gwayne and thanks him for saving him. Gwayne calls him out on his treatment of Daeron. “What is your plan?”

Alicent is pleading with Rhaenyra to let Helaena out of captivity with news of Aemond. Rhaenyra is not amused. She tells her that Aemond is at Harrenhal not Vhagar and that Helaena Dreamed his location. “Shes a Dreamer?” Alicent thinks her job is done but Rhaenyra wants to use her as an assassin to take out Aemond at Harrenhal. She grabs her arm to plead not to have a part in this. Rhaenyra says she will keep watch over Helena until she returns. “Did I not warn you it would come to this?”

Helaena doesn’t want to be alone and tells Alicent she can refuse Rhaenyra’s order. Helaena wants to know why she’s there and if there was no other choice of suitor for her. Alicent says it was Otto’s idea to marry her to Aegon and she wanted to keep her daughter close so it was an easy choice. She gets Helaena to eat and promises she will return to her and they will leave together. That never ends well.

Rhaenyra sits with a sleeping Joffrey.

Alicent’s takes her leave and Orwyle brings Rhaenyra evidence that her assassination plot failed.

Aegon outsourcing work as usual. Tyland is digging a corpse for the man he killed last week while Larys criticises his work. Larys wants to sail away but Tyland wants him to set up a court at Casterly Rock. Aegon wants to know if Tyland thinks he’s a terrible man, he stumbles over a complete non answer. Aegon is set on sailing for essos.

Rhaena is back at the cave waiting for Sheepstealer. She sees other dragons over the mountains.

Alys is tending to Aemond at Harrenhal. She’s thanking him for defending her. He wants to leave to look for Vhagar, he believes she would not have left him willingly. Alys wants him to stay and wait it out while he wants to ride out looking for his dragon. “Is it possible that Vhagar flew away to protect you?” Alys tries to caution Aemond against leaving.

Oh Jeyne Arryn just threw someone out the moon door. She had Rhaena brought to her and slapped her. Rhaena saw moondancer and wanted to find Baela. Jeyne is pissed that Rhaena has put their lives in danger by being seen with Sheepstealer. She dismisses her with a warning that she will kill her the next time she appears.

Baela is back and catching a nap before flying out again. Alyn meets her and wants her to put in a word for him with Corlys. They talk about difficult relationships with their fathers. He tells her she should go to bed, this is weirdly charged. Eww she was like coming onto him and he kissed her.

Gwayne is standing before Ormund and Daeron like a sad cat brought in from the rain. He tells King Ormund that their cause is lost and they are doomed if they leave their walls. Ormund is waxing lyrical about how they have the advantage but Gwayne points out that they have no great houses as allies. Ormund insinuated the Gwayne is gay, asshole was trying to say Gwayne would fuck his nephew. Awk Daeron loves his uncle but resents being left with Ormund and hates who he is in his domineering presence. He wants Gwayne to stay, “don’t leave me again, please.” He asks after Alicent, poor kid.

Helaena is refusing to eat or speak, she’s sewing. She knows Alicent was lying about them escaping with Jahaerya. She calls her out that Alicent was only looking to save herself. Helaena is self harming with the sewing needles. Alicent is disconcerted about the image of Aemond on the tapestry.

Alys saves Aemond from a would be assassin in the stables. She shows him a chest of dragon eggs that belonged to Dreamfyre when Rhaena lived at Harrenhal over a century ago. They’re both lonely and believe themselves to be cursed. She puts a hand covered in blood on the fossilised egg and it warms at her touch. She has well and truly seduced him now. He’ll be her dragon lord and their sons will be Targaryen princes.

Rhaenyra is off loading the money problems on Torrhen, she’s gonna light a candle at the sept for kidnapped girls. Uh oh she’s cut herself on the throne. And now she’s just marched out and left the petitions.

Cole and his army march through the forest like the walking dead. His scouts found a Tully camp and they go to investigate. The camp looks ransacked with corpses everywhere. It’s a trap. They played dead to ambush them. Cole deals out death with sword and morningstar. “We light the way!” They’re not Hightowers though. They’ve survived to parlay with Oscar and Roddy.

“I made a promise to the dead, that I would build a sept out of your bones. I don’t have near enough bones.” Criston wants a valiant last stand but gets shot down by Black Aly. The slaughter commences. He died holding Alicent’s favour.

Alicent and Helaena are found in the tunnels.

Daemon is raging over his dead friends in the small council. They debate what to do about Ormund. Torrhen and Sabbitha are so catty. Daemon wants to settle this with Fire and Blood, he and Rhaenyra bicker about what way to dispatch Ormund. She wants to send an assassin and get daemon to manage the city. Alyn tells her there is a squad of Velaryan men in the city at her service. Borros Baratheon has sent men to Rhaenyra but he’s away to face the vulture king in stead of answering her summons.

Vermithor is stretching his wings over Tumbleton and cosying up to Silverwing when they land. Hugh and Ulf chat about life before the war and what their lives are now. Oh Ulf is whining about not being able to go to the pub anymore. He says his life hasn’t improved. The first stirrings of treason.

Rhaenyra is having it out with Alicent about the escape attempt. She said she left to protect her pregnant daughter. Rhaenyra is sick of her thinking so low of her. She has to tighten her security of them. Alicent is trying to bargain a way out of the keep. “To my court you are the enemy” “And to you?” Rhaenyra leaves without answering.

Mysaria is checking to see if Alicent told Rhaenyra she knew of the pregnancy but she didn’t.

Daemon meets the remaining gold cloaks and swears vengeance. They’re resigning their posts in fear. Daemon is trying to shame them into staying and stepping up. It didn’t work.

Like Vhagar from last week would be saying: I’m finally free of that one eyed mummy’s boy, I’m gonna light up the Riverlands while on a bender celebrating 🥳 I miss my girls Visenya and Laena.

Caraxes is back at the dragon pit gossiping with Syrax: like yeah Daemon didn’t even know Rhaena was still in the Vale til I brought him to her in this cave, then he let her fly off with this mangey stray called Sheepstealer. Like bro wtf?!

Syrax: oh shit, my Rhaenyra is gonna be pissed when she finds out. Wasn’t Sheepstealer the bitch that got Vermax and Jace killed? Think they’ll break up again and we won’t see each for a while?

Dreamfyre chimes in: at least you get to leave this fucking cave, I’ve been stuck here since Princess Rhaena died. Helaena never takes me anywhere.

Sunfyre from the distance: everyone keeps saying I’m dead and letting strangers touch and climb all over me but I’m just napping after that huge fight. I swear I’m gonna eat all these fuckers when I get up.
