I don't think people who come from wattpad after the purge and now want ao3 to have its own official app understand that one of the main reasons behind the recent wattpad purge that drove them to ao3 was due to pressure from appstore demanding wattpad to be more strict and follow appstore's policy. wattpad complied in order for its app to be able to remain on appstore. thus the wattpad purge.
ao3 doesn't have an app because for it to have an app, appstore will have to approve it first. and if, hypothetically, ao3 needs appstore to approve it, it will also have to abide by appstore's pro-censorship stance and start banning dark and taboo fics, which is against its own core principle of being completely against censorship.
ao3 doesn't need an app. it works more than fine without an app. the reason ao3 can allow dark and taboo fics, the reason it can allow the most disgusting and shockingly vile fics, and be completely against censorship is because it doesn't need appstore's approval. it stands on its own as a non-profit organization with functioning site and a team of lawyers protecting its platform, its users, and every single fanwork on its platform.

Most* lifelong singlets will never know what it's like to be literally told you are not real. Not just "oh this aspect of you isn't real" but a literal "You are not real. You do not exist and you never will."
Most lifelong singlets do not know the suffering that comes from people saying "I think you're [this other person] instead."
And this is not me saying that people denying *parts* of singlets (your disability, race, sex, gender identity, orientation, etc) isn't traumatic and horrible. It is. You don't deserve to have ANY part of you denied.
But to have someone genuinely think you are nothing. Genuinely, unironically think you *entirely* don't exist. That you are merely roleplay or imagination. That there is only one person in the body, and that it's *not you.*
That is something lifelong singlets usually do not experience.
I don't get how plurals can do that to other plurals. I don't get how you can say "Actually you don't exist. You are literally fake" when that's exactly how singlets treat you. And I don't understand how you can call that "discourse" instead of what it actually is - cruelty beyond measures. Erasure beyond measures.
I will not and cannot EVER be around someone who simply humors me as a "concept" or a "game" rather than an actual fucking existing being. Never.

*There is massive solidarity to be found with singlet schizospecs who are being abusively told "you aren't real!" as an attempt to trigger derealization hallucinations. Same for singlets who are accused of being bots or faking their identity/sockpuppeting online.
genuine question wrt the anti-"endo neutral" post you reblogged: why is it not okay to not know? the post says its not okay to be neutral because "you either think they exist or you don't it's that fucking simple"; so "i don't know" is never an acceptable option??? must everyone immediately pick a side, even singlets, even if they don't know/understand/care, even if they don't want to engage with it? genuine question. is this actually what you believe or am i not understanding/somehow pissing on the poor? thank you in advance for clearing it up
Calling it "picking a side" when the argument is whether or not someone exists is wild. I'm sorry, but my pre-trauma headmates exist. If you are "neutral" to the argument of "do you exist or not", I don't know what to say to you.
Think of it in context of any other oppressed group. Let me use some of my own identities as an example
"Intersex people exist" "intersex people don't exist" "I'm intersex neutral" - how do you think that sounds? How can you be neutral on the existence of an intersex person? Either you believe in a sexual dichotomy or you dont.
"Nonbinary people exist" "Nonbinary people don't exist" "I'm nonbinary neutral" - how can you be neutral about enben? You either believe their genders & nongenders are real or you don't.
"Psychotic people exist" "Psychotic people don't exist" "I'm psychotic neutral" - Again, what? Neutral on the existence of psychosis in people?
You cannot be "neutral" over whether someone exists or not. You cannot be neutral on whether someone's experience is real or not.
I am an endotrauma system. I have diagnosed DID too. My system started off endogenic. If you say you're neutral about endogenic systems, y'know what you're saying? You're saying that you're "neutral" about the debate over whether my headmates Ally and Gwen exist. And that's fucked up. Their existence isn't something to be "neutral" about.
You can't be neutral about someone's existence and oppression. You can be uninformed on what's going on, but in such a case, I think it's super weird to call yourself "neutral" because that communicates that you're fine with hanging around bigots, that you're fine with hanging around fakeclaimers. Just say you're uneducated.
It's literally like saying you're "LGBTQIA+ neutral" or "autism neutral" or neutral to whatever other oppressed group.
(And before people take this out of context, no, I'm not saying that endogenics are more oppressed than traumagenics. We are equally oppressed cuz we live in a singletnormative world and struggle in different ways. I am endotrauma, I know what it's like on both sides.)
