Why It Works: Valentino x Vox A.K.A. Staticmoth
I know it's pretty weird that two of the worst Overlords in Hell seem to be in a decent relationship. When going into the show, we weren't sure how Vox and Valentino were going to be set up considering the personalities we got.
Valentino...is a volcano with legs! He gets mad with everyone and everything. Reasoning with him would be the equivalent of reasoning with Adam. It's worse when Angel is in the equation and turns his "property" into a punching bag. However, when Vox is in the picture, he simmers down. Val seems to actually think things through when Vox is around. It allows him to put some logic into his actions, even if he doesn't fully agree with them.
For Vox, you can tell that man has a lot going on. While he does keep himself calm and composed most of the time, he can really struggle with his emotions. Mostly when Alastor is in the equation (which is completely understandable now after "It's a Deal!"). For a while, Valentino went along with Vox's venting. However, Val was not afraid to draw the line on Vox's B.S. Val acts as Vox's emotional anchor.
It's pretty apparent that these two have feelings for each other. In episodes 5, 6, and 7, Valentino grew increasingly sad and reluctant to work with Vox as they grew distant. He even got upset when Vox said there was nothing more to their relationship aside from being business partners. Vox got guilty about that and tried to make it better...before Alastor popped into the scene like a zit!
I have a feeling that this relationship is going to take a dark turn in season 3. Val is taking control and Vox is dropped by the public. So, this is going to be a difficult fix.
