The door slammed. Robby heard wet, squelching sounds pass by his room. This time he and his roommate had had a serious argument, and in some way he even felt ashamed of his behavior. He was an adult. He shouldn’t act like that. He was supposed to help, not shout. Robby sighed and set aside the book he had been reading… He wouldn’t be able to focus now anyway.

He quietly opened the door. From the kitchen came the creak of the floor and the clinking of dishes. As he stepped out, he noticed footprints on the carpet. Soaked through, Dennis stood by the stove, trying to exhale, but the tears kept rising and mercilessly burning his eyes.
