Growing up Society told her that she was a girl She was handed Barbie dolls and dresses And if she were to try and put them down Society would tell her she was wrong You see Society has a long list of expectations What’s right What’s wrong And if you turn out to be any different than everyone else Your wrong, a freak So now at 14 Society’s “perfect little girl” Stands in front of a mirror Her arms used as  canvas for a razor blade Wearing her chest binder so tight, it burns Wondering what’s wrong with her She wants so badly to escape society’s grasp To be the boy she sees herself as But every time she takes a step forward She’s pushed back 3 steps All she needs is one person A person who tells her she’s not crazy And is willing to fight WITH her Rather than against To save her life So as members of society What are we going to do Sit back and watch as OUR PEOPLE Suffer, and break Or are we going to step up Break the silence And stop acting as if these problems don’t exist As if our feelings are not valid As if every time we feel dysphoric We are wrong So well stay here Living a life where the uphill’s are impossible And the downhills are cliffs Well sit in silence Blood Dripping from our arms Alone Because freaks like us aren’t included in the fairytales Leaving us stripped bare of all the hope we once had But I want each and everyone of you to know You are not alone Though the uphill may seem impossible I will take your hand And once we finally reach the top I’ll pull you back when you try to jump

I’m so sick of sitting back and watching beautiful people getting TORN DOWN by people who refuse to understand that they're existence is valid, I know how it feels because I spent so many years giving in to those people and giving up on myself.  

I can believe anything, provided that it is quite extraordinary
