Always You

I swear I keep getting questions like this, lol. But I do love my Tony.So, Tony is, at times, an idiot. He’s a silly, childish guy who messes about more than he should do and sometimes gets to the wrong side of mean. I get that. But sometimes, for me, Tony’s very out-of-character as he’s written. I often think that Tony, the real Tony, is the tender, caring one we don’t see enough of, and that yes, he hides behind the dumb exterior.

However, Tony’s a wonderful guy and I’ll always believe that. He’s hardworking, as we see in early episodes such as SWAK and An Eye for An Eye. In the former, Tony comes into work in the early hours of the morning to do some paperwork, which, as a Senior Field Agent, he has more of than the others.

And similarly, in An Eye for An Eye, Tony goes from seemingly messing about and paying no attention, to rambling off a load about their case- he may be lazy and silly at times, but he can damn well work.

As for him being a bully, I know what you mean. He’s mean to people, a lot, and I admit that perhaps he steps over the line. But really, I put this down to the writers. For example, in Recoil, when Tony’s being pretty horrible to Ziva, Michael thought it was too much, and wanted to reel it in a little. Cote says that in the Recoil commentary. Whether he did or not I don’t know, perhaps what we saw wasn’t as bad as it could’ve been? Many other instances when Tony’s a, well, a douchebag, I really don’t think are true to his character and are just bad writing decisions on the writers’ behalf.And, as much as Tony’s an ass to people like McGee (particularly him, really), he’s also very kind to them at other times.

He spends time with them, both as a team

and goes to them for advice

and also meets up with them individually, and outside work, like when he and McGee were gaming all night. Yeah that made Ziva feel a little excluded, but they then made up to her by going out for drinks, so really it did turn out well.And don’t even get me started on Ziva. He’s loyal, and caring, and loving, and just a wonderful person anyway, but around Ziva it’s so much more for me. This last season in particular. He’s been considerate

kind beyond measure

saddened

and I mean if you don’t think of him as a loving character in Shiva then I honestly don’t know how else to persuade you

and of course let me remind you of Berlin and how he went there with Ziva and probably wouldn’t have not gone anyway and how he acted there

and also, of this moment. because i can.

that man, is anything but a bully.
