SUPER BLOOM SKINBLEND

Heeey all! This here is my first released skinblend! I wasn’t too keen on the one I had made and two friends requested I blend @lumialoversims​‘s Oooooh Smooth Butts overlay with @noodlesims​‘s Ramen Noodle skin…and thus Super Bloom was born!

There are a few flavors of each skin in the form of swatches. For the ladies there’s one swatch of just Lumia/Noodle’s skins blended together, a swatch with @chisimi​‘s face overlay, a swatch with Chisa’s Gigi cleavage overlay and then a swatch with both the face and cleavage overlays. For the guys there’s just two swatches: one of just Lumia/Noodle’s skins blended and one with Chisa’s face overlay. It’s categorized as a skin detail!

This skin also has a free eye so monolids will show through! It’s for teen-adult and holy moly I even made a cas thumbnail so y’all can find it easily.

I hope you all like this skin as I’m super fond and proud of it! (click the pics for better view of skin)

That’s a really good question - I’ll post the answer here, it might be helpful for other people too. :)

If I make my previews ingame, I use @sintiklia‘s method here (scroll down to the end of the faq) and kewai-dou’s Photo studio set.

If I make the screenshots in CAS, I do it similar. I use a white CAS background (by @lumialoversims here). After I took the screenshot, I open it in Photoshop.I rightclick on the layer and choose “Layer from background”. Then I duplicate the layer and go to Image -> Adjustments -> Replace color. For “Color” I coose white and for “Result” black. The Fuzziness depends a bit on your image. You can also go to “Add to sample” (the pipette with the plus sign) and choose the greyish color from the border to make it a bit more exact.

After that I set the layer to Difference. Then I go to Select -> All, Edit -> Copy Merged, Edit -> Paste, and then Image -> Adjustments -> Invert. It looks like this now:

Depending on the Fuzziness, there will be a few grey spots - you’ll have to paint them over with white. The rest is pretty much the same as the ingame method I mentioned above.Unfortunately my CAS method is not really ideal if you want to put your image on a dark background - but, in my opinion, it works better than with a greenscreen.

I was asked by @vertplumbobs how to create a round icon without photoshop, and I thought this might be interesting for other people too, so I wrote a “quick” tutorial for GIMP. I don’t use this program very often, but I figured out a way that is, hopefully, quite easy even for beginners. :)

I’ve learned the basics of this method from Sintiklia’s tutorial, but I was made aware, that her blog is no longer accessible… and since I’m doing a few things different anyway, I’ve decided to write a new one. This is only for ingame screenshots and in my opinion this is the better method if you’re using alpha hair, just because it looks way smoother. But I might try to write a tutorial for CAS as well, when I find the time and the motivation.
