Ok so we all agree that Rocky probably has a hard time seeing Grace as an adult due to his age, right? Even if he knows logically that Grace is an adult for humans, he's still only 40!! Practically a baby!!
...But imagine if Grace was actually a kid though. Maybe one of the science officers' kids who they snuck aboard, maybe a politician made a bribe to give their son some kind of chance at survival, maybe even Stratt herself? (Because she certainly has the power to do so if she wanted.)
Either way, little kid Grace who went to sleep on earth looking up at the stars, and then he wakes up in a strange place and they're right outside his window.
