     Uhm.

     The only noise present was the soft whirring from the back of the rectangular metal box with a glass door, a boundary between his gloved fingers and the rows of drinks (?) with weird ‘press-me’ thing labeled with the price number and the currency he didn’t know of. Oh, and there’s some kind of slot below.

     Poor Knave didn’t know that it was what you’d call a vending machine. He didn’t even know where this place was, having stepped fresh out of the Centipede. (Yeah, yeah, sucks on you for not asking Caterpillar to assist you. Now you’re lost and she may not be able to locate you, ah dammit.)

     But ah, matters of the Caterpillar Alley aside, he really was curious. So the moment he saw the blue-haired person coming near, he waved a little at her to pique her attention. Then he jotted down quickly on his note before showing it to her, that said:

                                          Excuse me, do you know what this is?

Or, at least, that’s what the rest of her squad members seemed to urge Saiko to be, which almost insulted her in a funny way. Hours of IV breeding her pokémon and spending hours hunting for shinies certainly was not a waste of her time. With her quinque in hand, Saiko had departed from her tiny, shared home to head towards the CCG headquarters where everyone else was obviously waiting for her.

There was a slight moment of hesitance, however, when she realized a stranger along the way had waved her over. With ginger footsteps, the Quinx drew closer towards him only to watch cluelessly as he scribbled on a notepad to communicate with her.

She leaned in closer and let her dual coloured gaze flicker between the curved letters and at the vending machine, racking her brain for any idea why in the hell he would be asking her about such a simple thing.

“You mean, like… the vending machine?” Saiko’s eyelids fluttered with confusion, reluctantly doing her best to figure out what he was asking of her. “They put in a new iced coffee in a can from a weird brand name, but other than that it’s the same as any other vending machine in the 1st Ward.”

       Suzuya had been getting up awfully early for a meet up with Hanbee and some other investigators, so there were two things that were essential for a bearable ongoing of the morning: hot choc mocha with lots of sugar and something sweet to nibble on. Preferably croissants with nougat crème filling, something that he had only just acquired the taste of.

        He’d been a case of ‘better the devil you know than the one you don’t’ but he had grown enough to at least try goods when people told him they were good.

         He had sent Hanbee off to do the do and get him what he wanted as quick as possible – that was what subordinates were for, right? – so he had a moment in the park, strolling it and looking around for things to distract him from his growling stomach. And, much to his delight, he followed the sound of someone snoring, and ended up standing in front of no one else but a colleague.

         A female one at that, one that belonged to Kaneki’s – eh, Sasaki’s squad, which meant that he’d be allowed to go all out and get away with it.

“Shit-- ghouls?!” she exclaimed in surprise, a hand flying defensively up to cover her ear and avoid any further nibbling.

A brief heartbeat of silence passed, dual coloured eyes examining the other investigator to take a moment and realize just who this was. “…!! No, even worse, an investigator.” Saiko confirmed, placing the face and realizing it was one of the higher ups who worked at the CCG. While the name was a little fuzzy in her mind, Saiko had heard enough about him to have a general idea of his personality.
