Wish we could turn back time to the good ol' days.

[SAWYER ROBBINS]? they’re a well known [KOOK] in the outer banks. rumor has it they can be [COMPASSIONATE && PATIENT] but also [NAIVE && FORGIVING]. they’ve lived on the island for [TWENTY TWO] years and work as a [COLLEGE STUDENT]. when you hear their name, you can always picture [BARE FEET IN THE MORNINGS, SNEAKING OUT, MESSY PONYTAILS]

finn was lost in thought as he enjoyed the warmth coming from the fire in front of him. often times, he found himself sitting near the beach, fire in front of him to get out of his mind but tonight he was waiting for someone. the breeze from the water was causing his hair to move around his head, messy as it always is. his eyes glanced up as he heard crunching of the sand near himself. his phone hadn’t gone off so he wasn’t sure if sawyer was going to join him any time soon. eventually, though. a smile spread across his face as he sat up a bit to capture her lips in a soft kiss. it had been far too long since the last time. “i’m glad you’re here.” his hand moved to motion for her to take a seat near him. @ssawyer​

she had left her phone home. tucked in her bed, off. only so no one would try to contact her. or wondered where she is. she was hardly seen with her phone. she did that on purpose. she moved up the sand, towards the fire pit that Finn had already started it. which made it easier for her to walk up the beach to find him. she couldn't help the smile as she caught sight of it, moving right up to him where he sat. she leaned down slightly, her hand sliding softly on his cheek as she kissed him back, “hi” tone quiet, as she pulled back. she didn’t pull back, she slid into his lap where he sat, her body close to him.  it had been a while since they had snuck off to see each other. she wasn’t even sure the last time they had seen each other in person, “how are you?” kissing him again. she didn’t have to stop herself, because no one knew where she was. 

the sun had just started to set as beau moved out of his bedroom window and crawled onto the roof. his body leaned against the house as his eyes closed for a brief moment. there was too much going through his mind and he couldn’t focus too hard or else he would probably go a bit crazy. his eyes only opened as he heard footsteps joining him. there were only a few people that knew about his spot and he hadn’t heard from his best friend all day so he knew it couldn’t be him. a small smile fell onto his lips as he was joined by his older sister, more than surprised she was even home. “you’re not running off somewhere important tonight?” he questioned, giving her a look out of the corner of his eyes. @ssawyer​

it didn’t take her long to find him. she knew exactly where he was. peeking over the window, offering him a smile. “I don’t ever sneak off from you” holding onto the window sill, as she climbs onto the roof. she sat next to him, tucking her knees under her self, as leaned next to him. she leaned her head on his shoulder, “I don’t have any reason to run off from you” she escaped more of the time, to get away from her family. but never beau. she had no reason to get away from her brother. she got off the island when she could, to get away from her father most of the time, and her step mother, who tried to hard to be her friend.  beau was not included in that.  he was not only her brother, but her best friend. the only person who really knew her. “why are you hiding up here though?”

sawyer: asher saw us at the bonfire. I honestly don't care

sawyer: i just dont quite understand why he's so angry about it

Kennedy ran back up to her car to grab her sunglasses when she was walking back onto the beach, the hot sand scorching her toes as she did so. “Opp!” she chuckled with a smile then looked up, her face distorting as she saw who it was. “No, actually I think you are. Maybe the bleach you dye your hair with seeped into your brain but there isn’t a single kook down there Sawyer.” she sighed. Not wanting to get into it again she looked at the sand that was currently burning her feet through her sandals. “Listen, I’m not doing this. Just- maybe don’t hang here. You made it clear that you chose your side a long time ago, so let me go.”

She had been hoping to much for a time out.  A truce.  It didn’t seem like it was going to happen. Not right now anyways, “Listen” trying her hardest to not mock her, “I know you don’t want to do this, but we aren’t those girls anymore in high school, I know I’m not.  I’m sure you aren’t either.  I know it hasn’t been that long ago, but can we at least, try?” staring at her. She had her right to say no. Sawyer just didn’t know how much longer she could continue this.  She knew th other saw Finn on the regular, that they where both friends. At the same time, they had ended things on bad terms. “I haven’t chosen any side, if you remember at all. My family choose it for me before I had any say. It’s not like that anymore”

He was feeling generous. It wasn’t an uncommon thing for him to want to help. He knew what it was like to struggle, so he liked to do little acts of good every once in a while in an effort to help other people out. He was ordering a coffee. Surprisingly, he had slept a lot the night before, but he had to have caffeine at this point. So he decided to treat himself and get a coffee instead of making it at home. He got to the register and ordered a large black coffee before telling the cashier he was going to pay for the person behind him’s drink. He whispered it because he didn’t want attention, but he did it out of the kindness of his heart. He stepped to the side to wait for his drink. 

Hearing the other girls name he couldn’t help but roll his eyes. Asher knew Vera didn’t like him like that, and Asher always thought of sex as just that. Sex. “Whatever Sawyer. It isn’t like that. You and that boy have an actual relationship, and I’d rather you not rub it in my face” his voice husk but low. Asher was a very serious guy in general, but moments like these are when it really showed. Feeling her hand in his he quickly swiped it away, trying to not make it a bigger scene, “It doesn’t matter” he said looking into her eyes, “Just forget it” he said watching as his other drink came and quickly took a few big gulps. Watching as luckily the plates were being taken away, shortly the parents would go to the parlor to continue their business talk and Asher could go somewhere, anywhere. 

“Oh it’s not like that? So it’s just what, hanging out together with no clothes on?” rolling her eyes.  She knew how friend with benefits worked. It didn’t seem like that was what they where doing. “it must matter, if you’re really mad at me right now” she pulled her hand back, before moving her hands to her napkin. she pulled it from her lap, and then placed it on the table, “then just forget it” mocking his tone, as she pushed her chair back, “I rather just go off and talk to a wall, since I think that would answer me better than you” she slid from her chair quietly. She didn’t want to draw attention to herself, or to them. Or the fact they where having a small argument. “If you decide to you want to actually talk, then you can come find me” she really didn’t care either way. He had no reason to be angry with her right now.  She was off kissing Vera all the time.  She pushed her chair in, and crossed the room to grab herself some fruit, or maybe another mimosa. 

finn: that was a tad obvious but no judgement.

finn: because i'm not a terrible person. not always.

sawyer: thank you for that

finn: it is a little rude but you obviously had somewhere to go. who am i to stop you?

finn: oh right, that. well, you're welcome.

sawyer: i sort of let myself go last night. god, i can't believe i admitted that.

“Yeah, I am mad” technically she was right, he had no room to talk about this subject, seeing what he was doing the night before as well. But he didn’t care. Asher knew she didn’t see him with his side girl, he was always so careful. Looking down at her hand on his knee for some reason gave him this feeling. Shaking his head, “I don’t care. I don’t and will never do it in front of you or in front of anyone else. You better be glad everyone else was so wasted” was he jealous? No. Asher could never be jealous, but he was. For some reason he still thought of her as his, when in fact she wasn’t. Maybe it was because he knew Sawyer had actually feelings for the other boy, when Asher was just playing with hearts out here. “I just” he said leaning in closer to her, about to actually be honest for once, “Nevermind” he said realizing he shouldn’t say anything.

“mad about what exactly?” tone quiet. this stayed between them. the only reason he knew about finn, was because when they had ended things after high school, they both had found themselves into other people. with other people. though their family hadn’t liked that idea, so for the sake of their families. despite how selfish it was, the two got back ‘together’. “aren’t you not sleeping with Vera?” tone very low, because they didn’t need wondering eyes. he was currently, she however. hadn’t ended back in a bed with Finn, not that she hadn’t thought about it. not that she was going to share that information with him. she chewed on her bottom lip, watching him carefully. he was about to continue, when he stopped himself. her hand slid to his, as she squeezed it softly, “don’t do that, what?” staring at him again, her gaze latching onto his. he did that all the time would begin to open up, and then shut it down. shut her out. 

finn: you don't have to apologize for last night or this morning. it would have been nice to wake up next to you. what are you thanking me for, exactly?

sawyer: i think it's rude leaving without saying goodbye. so i assumed you where a little upset about it?

❛  is  that  so  ?  ❜  vera  giggled  ,  realizing  she’d  bumped  into  her  best  friend  &  jokingly  bowing.  ❛  in  that  case  ,  i’m  glad  i  could  make  your  acquaintance  ,  miss  robbins.  ❜  she  squeezed  sawyer’s  hand  back  ,  nodding  immediately  at  her  request.  she  could  use  a  break  after  all  the  job  hunting.  ❛  oh  count  me  in  ,  one  hundred  percent.  ❜  luckily  ,  vera  hadn’t  gone  overboard  with  the  drinks  last  night  ,  knowing  she  had  to  be  job  hunting  today.  ❛  i  mean  ,  i  think  we  both  know  why  we  didn’t  see  each  other.  ❜

Asher honestly ignored her at first, grabbing his mimosa in front of him and practically chugged it. “You know” he said finally his eyes moved over to her, “I really don’t like seeing my girlfriend kiss another guy” again saying maybe a bit too loud, luckily the blondes parents were in their own little world, well he hoped. Shaking his head he looked away from her, not being able to look at her, “Next time maybe check your surroundings Sawyer” Asher rolled his eyes.

she opens her mouth, and quickly closes it. sucking onto the inside of her cheek. she leans forward, and drinks her drink as well. exhaling slowly, she turns in her chair, staring right at him -- “and you’re mad at me about that?” they where usually so transparent, maybe he forgot that she also knew about his little extra activities he attended. placing her hand on his knee, she looked at him “maybe I just assumed you pretty busy yourself” tone low. thankfully the parents where all in deep conversations. of work, and whatever else they secretly did around the island.
