It's shit like this that gets me down sometimes even though I'm moving forward. Looking back doesn't hurt as much, but there's still that unavoidable sting every now and then.

Because of my epilepsy, many things in my life have either been postponed til further notice or delayed and are finally coming into play. One thing that has yet to be taken off hold is my ability to drive. Before my diagnosis, I never had my license, but I went off to college, not needing one. I now find myself in need of one. I find myself at the whim of transportation via parents, my brother, friends, and boyfriend. I'm lucky and grateful, but I'm also annoyed. I'm annoyed at my lack of independence - a certain kind I've never truly tasted. I'm at the whim of my meds. I'm tired of my foot being forced on the brakes.

That night I watched the news.  Honestly, something I don’t often do.  I felt numb, sick.  It was then I was no longer the ten year old.  Something bad has happened to Paris, and the whole world is watching.

Writing one of those letters that you may or may not send - you know the kind.  Those “therapeutic” ones with all the feelings and whatnot.  Yeah, those are kinda hard to write sometimes.  You have to face shit emotions that you don’t want to feel or say things you or the other person doesn't want to hear.  Even if you’re not sending the letter, it all comes out.  And it’s there in front of you now. It’s been there.
