OKay so a few months ago my BF and I ran through it unsynced for completion when we ran into those creatures.

Now naturally everyone's first thought running into them after ShB is "SIN EATERS" AND during the War of Magi which led to the 6th Umbral Calamity we knew the Mhachi were primarily Black Mages and the Amdapori were White Mages! The Mhach had sent Diabolos a Voidsent aka a beast from the 13th shard to their front lines and what better way to beat a creature conjured from Black Magic than to conjure a creature from White Magic? Though if you notice, they do speak unlike the Sin Eaters of the first and insinuate they were created, not summoned. Either way they were most likely created using Light Aspected Aether very much like Sin Eaters.

Also please note:

-in one of the Amdapor dungeons are Gremlins. You only really see them in the first and there. (I might be forgetting another place)

-in that same dungeon you were in, notice there are *light* sprites, again, the only place you find them are there.

-also in that dungeon that first boss? Did you notice the other "you" during one of the moves? Those were definitely fae and no one can convince me otherwise. They had fae wings sprout from their back as they did their cone attack.
